The Villain’s Repentance

Lara was at rock bottom, feeling like a puppet whose strings had been cut. When she stumbled upon her husband and best friend in a compromising embrace, everything fell into place. The heartbreak stung, but it also ignited a fierce determination within her. Instead of wallowing in despair, fate intervened, giving her a second chance at life—waking her up ten years earlier, just before the chaos began. Armed with wisdom, she promised herself not to repeat the same mistakes. As she stood at the top of the stairs, her gaze fell on Lucas, her once-beloved fiancée. Regret washed over her; she couldn't believe she had almost let him slip away. This time, things would be different.

Chapter 16 - Date Night

"Lara, are you ready for the night you'll never forget?" Lucas said in a playful tone, yet his eyes said a different story. Too bad Lara didn't notice.

Soon, they arrived at a newly developed estate, and Lucas immediately drove to a fenced house by the lakeside.

This house was a few distance away from the other houses and seemed to be the 'heart' of the estate.

He drove to the front door, opened the car door, and led Lara in.

When they entered the house, Lara saw the living room and that it was almost empty except for the couch and television.

"When you said dinner, I was thinking somewhere with uhh ….. somewhere like a restaurant"

Lara tried keeping her disappointment in and forced a smile.

He looked at her expression and thought about how cute she looked at that moment.

He chuckled lowly, took out a blindfold from his pocket, and flashed her a smile.
