Whitebeard & Oden

We started heading back to the ship. 

We passed by where I had collided with Oden earlier, only to find him not there. It seemed that he had already recovered and went off somewhere. I looked at the footsteps that he and his retainers had made when leaving.

All footsteps led towards the shore of the island. It looks like Oden was going to meet Whitebeard pretty soon if he hadn't already. We continued with our walk back, as we got closer; we could hear a commotion being caused by a lot of people. 

We arrived shortly after only to find an unconcious Oden, followed by angry and worried retainers guarding Oden's unconcious body. Whitebeard sat on the same barrel I had left him on doing the same thing that I had left him doing: drinking. Whereas, the rest of the crew were either surrounding the retainers and Oden, or laughing at their precarious situation. 

Oden soon woke up and wasted no time rushing up to Whitebeard. Only this time, he was bombarding him with a bunch of questions about the outside world. Everyone, except the retainers, was stunned. They initially thought that Oden would have tried to attack Whitebeard once again.

Whitebeard could only continue drinking while he listened to all of Oden's questions. He only would occassionaly nod or shake Oden's two 'yes or no' questions. This went on for quite some time before one of Oden's retainers, a man with lipstick and girl like hairdo, dragged Oden away. He took Oden down to the direction of the town that we just came out of. I could only watch as he left.

The rest of the crew seemed entertained and curious with Oden. After all, it's rare you see a man getting defeated; instantly bombard the victor with endless questions. However, the commotion died down pretty soon as the pirate crew continued to fix the ship. 

Soon, It would be time for me to go back to Ulvehoved and pick up my crew. I needed to go back to patrolling the territory. While the Moby Dick was being fixed, Oden had made it his mission to visit us daily. He would hear stories from Marco about our adventures.

The more Oden would hear stories from Marco, the more he would be enticed by the idea of getting out of the island and sailing across the world. I could see it on his face, his eyes would widen almost to the point they would bulge. His iris would shine as if it was a newly born star, and his smile almost reached his temples.

Soon enough, it became time for us to leave. Whitebeard ordered us to begin setting sail, I decided that I would leave as soon as the Whitebeard Pirates set sail. However, that plan was abruptly interrupted when I heard a yelling Oden rushing over. 

"Please! Let me join your pirate crew" Oden begged Whitebeard. Whitebeard only shook his head before replying.

"No! You don't look like someone who would follow orders, it's too troublesome to have someone like you on my ship."

Oden refused to relent, going even as far as clinging on Whitebeard's feet in an attempt to stubbornly force Whitebeard to remain in one place. This went on for quite some time before his retainer, Izou, came to pick Oden up and take him back home. The Whitebeard pirates became very familiar with Oden and his retainers. It was a relationship of mutual respect, with both parties respecting each others bounderies.

The retainers waited for us to fix the Moby Dick. Whereas we pirates did not dare enter the town. I couldn't say that I was the exception of that rule because I had only gone there once and I never left my ship after.

At midnight the day before the departure, Whitebeard decided that we would be leaving Wano. We quietly boarded our ships and soon started leaving Wano. Suddenly, I heard Oden yelling while he ran down to the shore. How the hell did he know we were leaving?

He made a high leap before grabbing one of the anchors to the ship. He was basically holding on for dear life as he passed through the destructive currents of Wano. 

Across the ship I saw Whitebeard standing at the stern of the ship, looking down on Oden as he struggled to hold on to the ship. Suddenly, I heard his voice boom across the surrounding.

"If you can survive three days in these currents, I'll let you join the Whitebeard Pirates!"

Oden immediately accepted, I could see that some of his retainers had remained on the ship. I got curious and decided to stay for the three days as I watched Oden hold on for survival. After my clash with Oden, I didn't really speak to the man; I felt like talking to him would drain me of my mental energy. 

Judging from his behaviour, I could easily tell that the man was a bit of a moron. Two days had passed since then, Oden was really close to passing the test and joining the Whitebeard Pirates. We were passing an island when, suddenly, we heard a young lady crying for help coming from that island.

Oden wasted no time making his way to the island and taking out her assailants. I turned to look at Whitebeard who was smiling as he ordered all the ships to turn into the island. Whitebeard had been in front of me this whole time and reached the shore a couple of minutes before I did. 

By the time I had reached there, I could hear the entire pirate group cheering for two people. Those two people were: Oden, of course, and a young beautiful woman with turquoise hair. It seemed that the two of them, along with some of his retainers, had officially joined the Whitebeard Pirates. 

Marco, in a burst of joy, started to lead the two of them towards my ship. They boarded the ship and Marco made his way towards me. I could hear bits and pieces of their conversation as they got closer. 

"Now that you guys are official members, I figured its time to formally introduce you to our big brother! He usually doesn't sail with us because he usually patrols our territories making sure that they're safe, but since he's here I better introduce you to him!"

They finally stood in front of me, Stussy seemed unfazed by Marco's long monologue and kindly greeted the pair. Oden kindly greeted her before turning to me, there was a tense silence between us. Oden scowled at me before closing his eyes, he looked like he was trying to remember something.

"I remember you! You were the one I fought with when I was going to see Whitebeard!" He exclaimed as he remembered. Marco looked dumbfounded at the exclaimation, while Stussy just giggled quietly as she approached Toki, the young woman who was by Oden's side. 

Oden continued to stare at me incrediously before asking. "This pipsqueak is the Vice Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates?!" Silence followed throughout the entire ship. Everyone looked at Oden with their mouths agape.

It had been the first time someone had judged me because of my age. For a second, just a second, I felt like I could relate to Sengoku. I really wanted to knock the shit out of him.
