The value of a hero

This is a story about Doryoku Suzuki, a kid whose powerful and uncontrollable quirk gave him many problems throughout his life, and who unlike everyone else, his only dream and goal is to help his mother instead of being a hero. —The story mostly takes place at the same time as when Aizawa was studying at the U.A. —Bnha and the image on the cover don't belong to me obviously. —Any advice to improve the writing is welcome.

Sports Festival 4: Individual Battles Part 0

Doryoku walked calmly through the empty corridors of the stadium he was in while trying to find the nursing quickly, still in his paintball suit but without a mask, backpack etc.

In order not to raise suspicions, he had to go around the entire stadium and not ask anyone about the location of the nursing, so he had to find it himself.

After several turns, Doryoku was able to find the nursing and opened the door, where he could see a rather pretty and older woman with a fair complexion and with red, curly and vivid with some gray hairs sitting on a chair.

"Do you need something young?" the woman asked curiously, which she apparently stopped eating gummies and paid attention to Doryoku.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for recovery girl, do you know where she is?" Doryoku said in a calm tone as he looked around him.

"You are in front of her little one, I'm recovery girl!" said the woman now known as the recovery girl with a proud smile.

Doryoku had blank eyes at this, so Recovery looked at him in confusion and asked.

"What is that face about?" asked recovery confused at seeing Doryoku's shocked face.

"It's nothing, it's just that I expected something different for some reason" said Doryoku, putting the subject aside and approaching the woman.

"I would like to know if you can help me with an injury" said Doryoku approaching with respect and tranquility.

"Hoho, you're a real little gentleman, go ahead and show me" said recovery, quite satisfied with the treatment that the young man in front of her gave her and with great pleasure to help him.

Doryoku stepped closer and showed his burned wrist, causing recovery to open her eyes a bit surprised.

"How did you do this young man?" Asked recovery a little annoyed to see the magnitude of said injury on the boy while she took and examined his wrist.

"I am a kyanseru, my bracelet released too much steam and burned me more than I expected" Doryoku said wincing of pain as recovery examined his wrist.

Suddenly, Recovery struck Doryoku on the forehead as punishment.

"If it hurts you, don't use it little demon, what were you thinking?" Said recovery, quite annoyed and giving a lecture to Doryoku.

'Ugh, she's like Okā-chan, no, I'd say she's like a granny' Doryoku thought as he rubbed his forehead with a bit of pain.

Suddenly, recovery kissed Doryoku's hand, taking him by surprise and missing him quite a bit.

Doryoku felt a slight tingling on his wrist and a green light came out of it, then he felt a little tired.

But something that Doryoku noticed was that a gray hair suddenly appeared in the recovery's hair, making him a little curious.

His wound healed almost completely, leaving only very small burn marks.

"Okay, use that bracelet less or come at the slightest sign of burn when it happens, don't wait until your arm burns and rest, my quirk always causes fatigue" said recovery, scolding Doryoku and then giving him a lemon gummy.

"Recovery-san, one of your hair turned white after using your quirk, will you be alright?" Doryoku asked somewhat sleepy but concerned, taking recovery by surprise.

"I'll be fine little one, you can come back whenever you want" said recovery with a friendly smile as she dismissed Doryoku and he looked for the dressing room to change.

And as Doryoku was leaving, recovery had various concerns about that boy.

'A kyanseru, his bracelet shouldn't cause that, how much power can that quirk release?" thought recovery, quite concerned for the boy's health.

She also noticed the slight discoloration on his arm, after all she was an experienced doctor.

And with everything seen, she could quite well assume all than that boy had suffered for his quirk, making her feel a bit sorry for him.

"Who of us gets first?" Oboro asked curiously as he sat in the general studies bleachers with Aizawa, Hizashi, Mirai, and Azami.

"From what I saw first is the homeless man" Mirai said thoughtfully while Aizawa had a vein on his forehead.

"Hey and where's Suzuki?! I didn't see him in the dressing room!" Hizashi said loudly as usual and quite excited.

"He'll be fine, he's probably unconscious from exhaustion in the nursing at worst" Oboro said thoughtfully without caring too much for Doryoku apparently.

At this, Aizawa looked at Oboro suspiciously knowing that there was something Doryoku was hiding about his right hand, but he decided not to ask.

"I think we should look for him Shirakumo-san" Azami said a little worried after seeing all the energy that Doryoku expended in the second part.

"I'll go then, you can stay here" said Oboro calmly enough to then get up and go find Doryoku.

But suddenly everyone could see Doryoku in his UA sportswear, arriving in front of them wearily.

"You look awful crazy man of combat" Mirai said with a mocking smile after seeing the different facets of Doryoku.

Doryoku found a seat especially away from Mirai, sitting down wearily enough to get some rest.

"You look like a dead friend and that's Aizawa's job!" Hizashi said with a smile making Aizawa feel annoyed again at being the center of everything bad.

"I want to rest a bit, the second part was horrible" Doryoku said as he closed his eyes and leaned back in the chair.

"Don't worry Suzuki-kun, your match is the fourth and you will have an hour break" Azami said with a comforting tone causing Doryoku to lift his thumb in gratitude.

"Wisteria-san, when will my match be?" Oboro asked quite excited about his battle.

"If I remember correctly, you are the sixth, and Yamada-san is the last" Azami said with a thoughtful tone and making Oboro a bit disappointed by this.

"Damn I want to rock out now!" Hizashi said loudly and quite impatient for the action.

"Where is so much energy coming from? We just ran like crazy all over the stadium" Aizawa said in shock and quite surprised by the emotion of the two crazy people in front of him.

"Without energy you cannot be a good hero!" Oboro said quite convinced about it and with determination.

'I guess he's not entirely wrong' thought Aizawa quite impressed that Oboro had given a valid argument.

"Doryoku, do you already know what to do in your fight?" Oboro asked curiously getting up and sitting next to Doryoku.

But being close, Oboro could see that Doryoku was completely asleep, he almost seemed to be unconscious, causing Oboro to be surprised and then smile slightly.

"Did he seriously fall asleep?! He could have said something or went to the nursing!" Mirai asked quite surprised like the rest of them to see Doryoku asleep all of a sudden.

"Although it may not look like it Doryoku is quite proud, it would be better to let him rest like that" Oboro said calmly as he patted Doryoku on the back.

"You did well my friend, your effort was worth it" said Oboro smiling broadly and with pride at his friend and then sitting down with the rest again to let him rest.

And after this, the group of friends kept talking about the details of the upcoming matches.

While the students were taking a break, Director Nezu spoke to Last Laser about everything that happened at the festival so far.

"You did a great job Akira-san, your ideas were very interesting!" Director Nezu said quite happily and acknowledging him.

Akira Nakamura or better known as Last laser nodded at the teacher's compliments and said...

"I'm still not used to being a teacher, I would say that the idea of heroic paintball was much better" said Last laser with modesty and calm.

The two of them were in one of the break rooms while they drank some tea and talked about everything while High command gave the orders to prepare everything for the third part.

At one point, Last laser wanted to talk about the most interesting topic at hand.

"Tell me, what do you think about the kyanseru boy?" Last laser asked with what appeared to be curiosity and his typical stoic expression.

"You saw him, he is quite a diamond in the rough, but his quirk requires perfect control to function" Director Nezu said as he calmly sipped tea.

"I saw it, his wrist was almost completely burned, for something like that to happen to him in such a short time the control of him must be practically null" said Last laser remembering the parts of the paintball in which Doryoku took his wrist with pain.

"There is also something else, he is only participating for the award, I have no idea if he wants to be a hero in truth, I would say that at least his goals are questionable" said director Nezu with a thoughtful tone about the boy's thinking.

"It only remains to try when the time comes, although with that power the best thing will always be to have proof of it" Last laser said seriously while drinking tea and Director Nezu nodded approvingly.

"What do you think of your students?" Principal Nezu asked curiously about Class 1-A.

"They all have good quirks, I suppose that apocalyptic theory had some reason, but my god, their faces full of hope and innocence annoy me" Last laser said with a thoughtful tone and a little annoyance.

"It's what happens when there is peace, even if it hurts, you feel that way out of envy just like me a little" said the director Nezu with a mocking and explanatory smile.

"I know I know, peace is good, but it makes the new generations weak, this generation is not an iota of what the previous one was in terms of determination, besides we cannot depend on the American forever" said Last laser with seriousness and a bit of annoyance when remembering that smiling blonde.

"That's why you have to find new talents, someone who wants to be a hero for more than just recognition or work, and who has enough strength to measure up to any villain" said the director Nezu in a calm tone while he drank some more of tea.

"We'll see" Last laser said calmly as he too drank some tea.

All might, it was a single pillar that illuminated Japan and could solve anything in the eyes of the rest, but if that light disappeared everything would return to chaos, one that previous generations would not want to live again or let new ones live.

Meanwhile in the restaurant of the Chrysanthemum, Nintai was moving very quickly to attend to everyone and have a long break to see her son.

There weren't many people today as most of them were at their houses watching the festival with their family, so there wasn't much to do actually.

"Nintai-senpai, the boss said we could close early due to lack of customers" Aoi said smiling happily as she hung up the phone on her after calling the boss.

"Good! So I can see Dory-chan in action!" Nintai said quite excited for the rest of the festival.

"I'll stay here to keep you company, what do you say Aoi?" Hiro said coming out of the kitchen quite excited and asking Aoi.

"I have nothing better to do" said Aoi quite in agreement with the idea.

And with this everything was ready for the third part of the sports festival.

I have several things to do these day, so sorry if there is a mistake in the chapter, anyways if there is you just tell me, and have a nice day.
