EAT!

"You like what you see?" Daniel asked teasingly as he stopped his exercise and headed for the bathroom.

"….Umm… I… Shuu-sama?" Matsumae asked. She had been so frozen in time that she didn't realize that her young master had already left to have a shower.

"Shuu-sama must feel defiled and disappointed in me! I'll have to make it up to him somehow. But how can I show my face in front of him again?" She worried.

Daniel was in the bathroom with the cold shower on, but he could still hear her perfectly as if she was just near him. He never intended for that to happen anyway. By the time he got out with his towel wrapped around the lower half of his body, he found his supposed 'father' on a chair waiting for him. He dried himself and wore an expensive-looking bathrobe.

"Good morning father." Daniel greeted Mirumo Tsukiyama.

Mirumo Tsukiyama is a man who looked young for someone supposedly in his fifties, with a well-groomed mustache, a well-tailored suit, and a small circular framed pair of glasses. He sat cross-legged and looked at his son for a while, stood up, and hugged him.

"I thought you would never wake up from that coma. It's quite hard for someone of our species to even fall into a coma, I missed you Shuu-kun!" Mirumo said as tears poured down his eyes and down to the shoulders of his son.

"How silly of me, here, have this handkerchief to wipe that from your shoulder. You just had a shower after all." Mirumo said as he stopped hugging his son and extended a piece of cloth from his suit to his son.

"It's fine." Daniel said as he moved forward and hugged his dad.

"You won't have to worry about a single thing again now that I am around." Daniel assured him.

Matsumae was watching this scene from the door and welled up in tears but quickly cleaned her tears.

"Chief, I'll be going to school now. I'll let Aliza-san attend to Shuu-sama." Matsumae informed Mirumo and bowed.

"Nonsense, I practically own the school. Phone in the director and have him close school for today. I am sure the students would be happy to have a day off. Today we celebrate Shuu's recovery." Mirumo proclaimed.

Daniel just smiled sheepishly and scratched his head.

'Whoa! Does this mean I would eat…Flesh? Yare-yare.' Daniel thought with a grim expression as he prepared himself for the feast in the dining room.

He opened the door leading to the hallway and was greeted by Kanae Von Rosewald.

"Greetings, Shuu-sama! Congratulations on your recovery." Kanae said with a bow.

"Hmm, you are here. Please do take care of me." Daniel said with a warm smile as he patted her head a little.

That action led to Kanae's face getting red. Daniel saw this and just headed for the general dining room. The room was lit with numerous chandeliers and expensive lighting. Before him was a long rectangular console table. At the head of the table was Mirumo who had nothing but love in his expression. Aliza, Yumma, Mairo, and Matsumae were present but stood in attendance before the table.

"Father if I may, can they sit at the table with us?" Daniel asked as he sat opposite his father.

"Shuu-sama I can never disrespect you like this. This occasion was made for you. I would be comfortable and happy serving you to boost your recovery." Mairo said.

"I am thankful for your thoughts, but please don't mind me." Matsumae joined in.

"Of course Shuu, and please sit here beside me." Mirumo ignored their remarks and gestured towards an empty sit near him.

"You heard the family head, right? I hope you wouldn't think of disobeying his orders?" Shuu narrowed his eyes and smiled at them.

The servants shook their heads in unison and chose their seats. Aliza went to the kitchen to get more food for all of them.

'The time has come. I'll have to eat this. I am a ghoul, not a human for now anyway.' Daniel steeled himself as Aliza served him his dish. The dish comprised of a red gelatinous substance in a cupped form with a fork at the left and a knife at the right. In the middle of the table was even more 'meat' enough for all of them. The family head shared his gratefulness for his son's recovery and started eating.

Daniel picked up his fork and took a small serving from the food in front of him and slowly moved his hand toward his mouth. Mirumo noticed this and offered to help him but Daniel waved him off politely. As soon as the food touched his tongue, it was as if he was sitting in a dimly lit room and suddenly the lights came on. Colours were dancing and his stomach ached for more. He drank a little red wine and continued.

'I see. I am indeed a ghoul. But I'll have to control my hunger anyway.' Daniel thought as he quickly finished his meal and asked for another, and another and more. Everyone was happy that his countenance had returned and continued the feast as gracefully as they could.

The meal was over and Daniel said his thanks and left for his room. He removed his suit and wore only his boxers and started his push-up routine, then after some minutes of rest, he did the plank exercise for thirty minutes and took a minute rest. He then proceeded to do sit-ups, he noticed that he almost stood up at the end of each sit-up because of the strength that flowed through him. He controlled himself and did a thousand, he took a minute rest and proceeded to do a thousand squats.

"Alright, now that that's over with let's check out my kagune." He said. He was interrupted by a small blue-illuminated bordered window that showed him detailed info about himself.

'Ugh, systems.' Daniel looked down at the bordered window with disgust. He just checked the gift option that had a notification on it. He wanted to tap on it but the notification opened as if it was done telepathically. The gift was a one-time wish from the god of #########.

'It was fun while it lasted. I'll miss the amount of reps I can do in my exercises but I have to go home. Alright, I wish to go back to my world.' Daniel asked in his mind as he closed his eyes.

A voice replied to him saying, "The god of ######### denies your request to go back to your home world since you are now one of his sources of entertainment. The god of ########## is benevolent enough not to cancel your wish and would hear your request again. You can even wish for immortality."

Daniel simply looked down and clenched his fists hard, hard enough to let the blood spill out. His eyes were wide open in fury.

"Destroy yourself and let me create my own system." Daniel asked coldly. He knew it was one wish he was granted but he wanted to kill that voice in his head and its master. He judged that he'd be fine with or without a system.

And with that sentence, the blue illuminated bordered window faded away into nothingness. But a blank bordered window appeared before him.

Daniel Just walked to his balcony and felt the cold night breeze brush against his body. He looked at the gardens below him and saw Kanae tending to the flowers.

'You know she doesn't look bad.' Daniel thought. He tried to distract himself from the great rage that was seething out of him. He walked back to his room and took a shower. Kanae felt someone looking at her and looked back but saw no one.

While showering, Daniel customized his system. He made the interface dark with gold linings. He put useful information and left out his name but put a title instead. This was how he customized his system:

Title: Heir of Tsukiyama family, Captain of Iruka High Football team.

Race: Ghoul, (Human).

RC level: 2400.

Kagune type: Koukaku.

Kagune skill: Stab (20%), temporary shield (20%), temporary sword (20%),

Mana: nil.

Divine Energy: nil.

Chaos Energy: nil.

Creation Energy: Currently limited to system creation.

Traits: Creation (15%), Assimilation (1%), Adaptability (40%), Endurance (10-20 %^), Stamina (9-25 %^). Durability (7-9 %^), Strength (6-11 %^), Agility [Including reaction speed, reflexes, running speed, and movement.](5-15%^), Regeneration (3-7 %^).

[(^) means an increase in stat.]

Daniel was done for now. He tried not to think about anything concerning that being but would continue to pave his own path back home somehow. With that out of the way he wore a fresh pair of boxers, switched off the lights, and laid down on his bed. He couldn't sleep that night but managed to get some rest.

Poor Daniel has been set up on a stage for someone's entertainment. Will he be able to entertain this someone or will he fail and get replaced by another on that same stage? Will he be able to stand in front of this 'someone' or will he drown before its presence?

To be continued.

Daniel will now be referred to as Shuu. If you notice I try to write more than 1,500  words a chapter. In the original novel that’s about to be released soon, it is usually close to 2k words a chapter. This Heavenly One would appreciate it if you did at least ten push-ups whenever you read about Daniel/Shuu exercising. I love you mortals and want you to be in good shape, have a good day.

Don't be shy, leave a review and power stones.
