Chapter 26: He's back

Days have passed since Anastasia was cursed. She didn't like it one bit as her body became more pale and she barely ate anything. This made us worried. Jin tried to cheer her up with his funny antics, Elvis assisted her with anything she needed and talked to her a few times while I thought of how we could find Lucian. It seemed like it was all fruitless because no matter how hard we tried we just couldn't find him.

Her final day had come and she looked ready to accept her fate. Daffodil was still obstinate on letting go of the curse. She might as well get rid of her since her brother hasn't showed up.

"Anastasia, you look pale. Is anything the matter?" Ash inquired with a worried look on her face.

"I'm fine. There is nothing wrong with me." Anastasia said bluntly. Ash did not seem to believe but gave her some space.

"Today is the last day." I heard her mumble. Judging form his clenched fist, I suppose Elvis heard it too. We were all on our way for dinner but as soon as we got there we got the shock of our lives. We heard something moving inside.

"D-Do you guys h-hear that?" Mark stuttered as he hid behind Ash who placed two fingers on her forehead and sighed in frustration.

"Be careful. What if it is some kind of thing in there?!" Mark continued as we all gawked at him weirdly. My hand was already on the door knob as I gently opened it.

Within the blink of an eye, a shadow whizzed pass me and landed on Mark who shrieked. We all looked stunned as we saw the figure still on Mark not letting go of him. My interest was piqued the moment it started to twitch. I heard a small gasp as it was from Anastasia.

"That's Lucian you guys." She said nervously pointing at Lucian. He looked like me when I first came to this place the only difference was that despite all of that he looked agitated.

"Help... me" Mark cried out quietly starting at Lucian who was still on top of him.

"Lucian, just calm down alright." I said approaching him. Was he possibly still under the influence of his beast nature? His nails grew longer and the canines looked pointed that his normal pointed ones. It was probably that.

He suddenly stopped moving and gazed at me before slumping to our surprise. Jin suddenly spoke"is he still alive?". We shrugged in response until he started poking him with a stick.

"We can't just leave him here. Let's take him to the clinic." Ash said as we nodded in response.

"So who is gonna carry him there?" All eyes were on me after I asked. "What?! Why me?" They straight up ignored me while walking away. I groaned internally as I attempted to lift him up.

*Later on*

Daffodil slammed the door open as we all flinched at the sudden entrance. She was having a worried expression on her face as she saw her brother laying on the bed with bandages all over him. He was wearing typical blue patient clothes. His eyes were still shut since he was still asleep.

"I can't believe he is still alive after all that. I thought Jake was bluffing." Anastasia whispered me.

"I just hope that he won't come after us. I'm tired of all this drama." I whispered back.

"What are you six still doing here?" We heard Daffodil growl as her eyes were no longer green. We all cowered back in fear. No doubt I see why Lucian terrors at her. We quietly left the room one after the other. Being the last one to leave the room, I began to hear bawling.

"She is so scary. How can Lucian stand her?" Mark said shaking all over? Ash only stared at him with a poker face. She was the least scared. Unlike Mark, she was not a scared coward. She was more outgoing like the tomboy type.

"Will you stop whining already?! It is becoming irritating." She yelled at him at which he trembled at her abrupt rise in tone of voice.

"How are you not scared of someone like her?"

"Shut up and let's just go for dinner." She said pulling him and walking away as we watched them leave.

"That was..."Elvis began.

"Odd." I completed as we agreed." I guess we can all acknowledge that somewhat today ended pretty well. We found Lucian and Anastasia will live. "

"But Lucian is back..."Jin interrupted.

"Not the best time Jin. I think we should celebrate on the good stuff that happened right?" I gleefully said. The night was quiet as they all looked at me.

Anastasia broke the silence with a chuckle. "You are right Jeffrey. It has been a while since I ate well. I also lost some weight at it might take some time before I am back to my original self. "

"I guess that means we can't call you chubbs for a while now." Elvis mumbled.

"Eh! What was that?" Anastasia said angrily facing Elvis whose face turned red?

"Nothing."

"He said that you are fat!"

"What?!"

"I never said that. Jin!" Jin scurried off with Elvis behind him and Anastasia followed while fuming with rage.

"I really have weird friends." I shook my head walking slowly. I had the urge to cough as I did but felt something warm trickle down my mouth. I gasped on seeing a green liquid coloration.

'Is this blood?' I thought. My head felt like it was spinning as I felt a sharp pain that slowly began to subside. It all came rushing to me. What happened to me in the lab? What did that old man do to me?

Author's POV

"I see..." A figure in the shadows said. He sipped quietly from his teacup before placing it down beside him. "I will wait patiently. It can take all the time it wants. "

He stood up from the mat and glared at the coughing Jeffrey. His cold demeanor not wavering as he watched with a scowl on his face.

"It is time."
