Chapter 25: Cursed

It was dark, everywhere was dark. I couldn't see the light or anything. I could hear voices but I couldn't see anything. Slowly, I opened my eyes to see three worried faces.

"Where am I?" I asked drowsily. The three sighed before Anastasia spoke.

"Why did you just black out like that we were worried?"

"What? I... I blacked out." I said not having any recollection of what happened.

"What she meant to say is that what happened?" Jin said.

"I don't understand. I blacked out... When and where?" I asked still confused.

The three exchanged puzzled looks before turning to me." you don't remember why you were out? Father called you and Jin. Soon he dismissed Jin and later you were in the clinic." Elvis stated.

"Jin? Father? When? I can't remember. Did he punish us or something?"

"Not really, but he scolded us for sneaking out at night," Jin said.

"Maybe I need some time to recover my memories, I don't remember anything." I finally said before sitting up.

"I think you are good to go now. The nurse said if he wakes up you are dismissed." An older girl said. I have seen her around a couple of times but never talked to her.

"Hey, little bro!" She said with a bright smile.

"Hey, Sis," Elvis said with his head down. Wait, Elvis has a sister. I looked at the other two but they weren't surprised. How could I not have noticed, I mean they look alike except that one was a blonde while the other was a brunette.

"What are you doing here?" Elvis continued but he sounded rather cold.

"Don't act like you have forgotten that help around here. It has been a while since we last saw eye to eye." She said before turning to me. "You must be Jeffrey. I heard about you from Anastasia and Jin. I'm Madison, Elvis' big sister."

"Nice to meet you," I replied.

"Nice to meet you too. I better leave before someone ruins the fun interaction we had." Madison said as she begins to walk away. Elvis' eyes were barely seen. When she left, he finally spoke.

"Let's go." He asserted. "Anastasia, you have a lot more explaining to do when we meet Jake."

Anastasia gulped knowing what she did.

********Later*******

"Wait, let me get this straight. You entered Daffodil's room." I was shocked.

"I'm astonished how you were able to come out alive after she caught you," Elvis said. Jin was in the corner sulking after we scolded him for abandoning Anastasia.

"You do know, you are still going to die," Jake said.

"How? And why will you say such a thing?" I asked angrily as a vein popped out of my forehead. This Jake has been getting on my nerves lately about death.

"I was in shock when I learned she caught and didn't do anything. I mean who is stupid enough to do that." Both Elvis and I deadpanned him remembering when he said he snuck into her room too.

"He says it's suicidal and yet he was stupid enough to do it," I mumbled.

"I heard that." His face suddenly popped in front of me and I jumped back in fear.

"Now like I said, she doesn't have much time left till she dies." He points at Anastasia. "Did you notice anything different about Daffodils?"

"Now that you mentioned it, her eye color changed to Silver," Anastasia said.

"Well, you have just a few days left to live. Daffodil placed a curse on you. And before you ask how I know this stuff. My father was a beast hunter so he knew most of this stuff. Only a few females of their bloodline inherit this ability to curse others with death. It is usually triggered when their loved ones are in trouble or cannot control their emotions."

"So how do we get rid of the curse?" Elvis asked.

"I know it might sound crazy but we have to get Lucian back. That is the only way to guarantee Anastasia's safety."
