The Sacrifice

I thought of sealing Demion inside the [Quick seal] for now and work something out with the help of other beasts in next floor but soon an unexpected thing happened.

Demion's body started to swell and turn red; it uncontrollably released white flames and blood started to leak out of Demion's mouth.

Soon an ear piercing roar was heard from Demion's mouth while he was unconscious, his soul slowly fading.

I thought what was happening to him, was it some kind of side effect of using [Soul sacrifice] , but in the past nothing like this has ever happened and he had already paid the price by sacrificing almost 90% of his soul leaving his soul weaker than Dragon kings realm dragons.

But soon my confusion turned into astonishment as I could see that between white flames, there was a faint purple glow.

This idiot was evolving from dragon monarch to pseudo primordial dragon. Once he has evolved his path to become a primordial dragon was paved, no matter how much time it would take.

But he has selected a wrong time to evolve when he doesn't even have the strength to open his eyes; at this rate he will burn his own soul and die a painful death.

But the opportunity like this only came once in a life, so I have to help him in whatever way I can. I still remember how I overcame my pseudo primordial dragon realm evolution and became the primordial dragon after gaining insight in abyss for 100 years.

He must be in vestige right now, deep within his consciousness trying to understand what is he seeing and experiencing. Whether he can evolve or not is up to him, I can only help him externally.

The mana he will need in order to complete his evolution could not be described in quantity, but I hope it is not as much as I needed. I had exhausted a Rank 12 mana crystal inside the abyss which could only be found in the core of a planet.

I retrieved a pendent from the space pocket which was given to me by Eva. She had the same pendent as this, and in center of which a crystal was engraved, more beautiful than astral stone, rich in mana to the point one can't measure its quantity.

She named the crystal as 'Eternal stone' because of unlimited quantity of mana it possessed but I will check today whether her claims were true or not.

The dragon heart of Demion was so weak that it wasn't able to gather the basic amount of mana for him to survive and thus it was burning his soul.

Holding the 'Eternal stone' in one hand I started absorbing the mana from it and my dragon heart started refining the mana.

Before my body could absorb the refined mana, I directed it into my other hand.

Transforming my other hand into a dragon claw I pierced Demion's chest all the way till his heart and transferred the pure mana directly inside his heart making myself the medium.

The wounds which were healing slowly suddenly released the white gas and started to heal rapidly and Demion was slowly gaining his vitality but at the same time the output of white flames increased tremendously, which were more hot than usual.

Surrounding myself with the layer of space I endured this unnecessary torcher and hoped that Demion would regain his consciousness but even after half a day passed he was still unconscious hungrily absorbing the mana from the 'Eternal stone'.

The intensity of flames has increased hundred times by now and the purple flames can be seen rising at specific intervals but it was far from complete, but left with no option I greeted my teeth and imbued mana into Demion's heart faster than before.

After 3 days of intense mana refining and transfer process, I started to see the visible changes on the body of Demion. His black hair started to turn purple and his height grew by 1 foot, his body became more muscular.

His dragon heart has also become more solid and bigger than before but the most noticeable change was his soul. His soul has grown more than 50 times from what it originally was, but it was understandable because his soul would continue to grow as he gains more understanding of law of fire and evolve into a primordial dragon.

It would be an historic moment in the whole dragon realm if he could achieve this feat because he would be the first fire dragon in the history of dragon realm to touch the realm of primordial dragon.

On the afternoon of 7th day the flames turned complete purple and I had to use half of my mana always active to protect myself from the flames. Soon Demion opened his eyes and the flames died down.

I retrieved my hand from his heart and handed him the stone to recuperate and explained the situation to him of how I saved him and kept him alive for the whole week.

"Thank you lord." He only said that much but without him telling me anything I understood how he felt.

After receiving the 'Eternal stone' he meditated for 3 more days after which I stored him inside the [space pocket] using [Quick seal]. The burden has doubled on my [space pocket] due to his evolution but it was still manageable.

I examined the 'Eternal stone' which has dimmed down a little after use by Demion but it truly lived up to its name.

Storing it away in the [Space pocket] I moved toward the portal to proceed to next floor but something in my space rune attracted my attention.

It was the life sign crystal which I had made using the traces of soul of all the retainers and beasts. Out of all the crystal 3 has broken at the same time. One retainer and two beasts have died.

It can only mean that 2nd team has executed their mission. I should also wrap up things here.

Thinking that i stepped inside the portal.
