3 New Hunting Mission

Rainn wiped his gun several times until blood stains and mud from the weapon are completely gone. But whatever he does the weapon will never look too good. Well, how could a secondhand weapon he bought with a cheap deal be good?

Tonight, he had to undergo another mission. Rainn doesn't know the exact details of the mission. But that's not important. He just needs to be present. Because his role will not be too important. At most he will only be a rock miner or baggage carrier like before.

He locks the door of his house. Then climb the stairs to the streets. Above the basement house is an apartment building. It is not an expensive and luxurious one. Because this environment where he lived--in the third district--is not the area for luxurious places.

Then Rainn walked a few hundred meters to board the metro train.

Al'Modred is a circle-shaped city. The thick wall and an invisible dome protect the city from supernatural attacks. This city is the largest city in the Argenti Kingdom. Because this city is the kingdom's capital.

They called them Vampire and Werewolf. They rule all the supernatural races, and humans are the only source of food for them.

Suddenly, two heroes from the human race used a power that helped them win the battle.

The understanding of the power is so blurred and unclear. Rainn himself didn't know what that power is besides "it's a power so great that can finally beat the Werewolf and Vampire."

The war occurred for a thousand and twenty-three years, they said. The two heroes managed to defeat two Werewolf and Vampire leaders and start the era of humans. Although the supernatural races remain and can not be erased entirely outside the city walls.

The heroes' names are Ken Al'Modred and Tenaile Paenyr. The name Al'Modred is used as the name of the capital city of the Argenti Kingdom. While Paenyr's name is immortalized as the name of the King's Palace.

Unfortunately, the power and the secret to it disappear when the two of them are dead. And now the supernatural is only hunted by using the silver weapon, sacred water, and other weapons. The power of supernatural hunters is obtained by hard training and also talent. As far as Rainn knows.

But Rainn is not a talented person nor has a good mentor. He even can't live like a normal sixteen years old boy. And he also did not dream of being a supernatural hunter. Only because this is the work he can do while living a life as a student.

Rainn wants to be a writer. He has written several stories that exist in his head in a notebook. But no one ever read the book other than himself.

A book he read in his childhood gives that dream to him. The book was given by both his parents. Shortly before the train they were in attacked by a horde of Undead.

The metro station is seen upfront. Rainn attaches his ID card to enter the gate. After that, he waited together with others.

The train came shortly after. The alarm sound as the train come is a familiar voice to Rainn's ear. He went into the car with other people.

The journey to the station in the twelve districts is not long. Only about ten minutes Rainn was out of the station and headed for the building headquarters of The Triade guild.

The building stands in the middle of the twelve districts. A two-story building with a hexagonal shape. Rainn went into the building and waited together with the other hunter until the mission began.

Artren and Bryna came down from the second floor and called all who participated in this mission. Rainn's name is called the last. Rainn thought they may not remember about him even after doing a mission together a few days ago.

They left for the mission. Rainn does not know where they are going. Because he's just as always just at the back of the truck. Fortunately, this night is not raining. So his body will not be wet before arriving at the mission's location.

"This time we will hunt down the hordes of a wendigo, I heard that creature can move very quickly," said one of the hunters who were in the same truck with him.

Those who are here are the beginners who are not far from Rainn's age. It's just that Rainn is the youngest person here.

The journey lasted for an hour. The truck stops and Rainn came down on mud. He looked around. They are now in the middle of a dark forest. There is a hill up front there. And under the hill, there is a small cave door.

Artren and Bryna collect them all in front of the cave door.

"Look, everyone!" Shouted Artren. "This night we will hunt the Wendigos, you must have known that some merchants are attacked when heading to the city of Al'Modred last week. We hunt them tonight."

Rainn listened carefully while rubbing his old revolver. Wendigos, Rainn has never faced the creature. He hopes that he is only placed at the backline.

"This night nobody will carry a stone or mining, you will all focus on hunting," Bryna added. He put his gun on her shoulder.

Rainn sighed. Earlier he would not be happy when he was placed as a miner or rock carrier. Now, he feels that carrying mineral stone is the best part of this mission.

"Come on!"

Artren went first through the cave door. Due to its size, the cave door can only be entered by a maximum of two people. But the size of Artren's body makes it so the hole can only be for his own.

They followed to enter one by one. The number of members who participated in this mission is thirty people. Rainn entered last into the cave and was directly welcomed by the strange stinging smell.

They turned on the lights they bring. Unfortunately, Rainn forgot to bring his own so he can only rely on the light of other hunters around him.

They enter the deeper cave. And deeper they go the cave was increasingly wide. The stinging smells get more stuck in their throat. As if every inch of the cave stone issued the smell.

Someone shouted. Then the splashes of blood are seen. They all turned to be surprised at the origin of the sound. And seeing something is attacking one of their hunter colleagues.

Rainn saw the creature staring at him. Its eyes are white and empty like a soulless hole. The skin is pale and dry. Its body is very thin. Both arms and legs are longer than humans.

Then the creature jumped toward Rainn with the claws that were reaching forward.
