Chapter 31 New Armour and Victory's First Upgrade Complete

It's now the last month of the grace period and after alot of work Red Queen has finally finished upgrading the Victory from a Corvette class ship to a Destroyer class ship with the length of 800 meters and a width of 500 meters this ship now has a total of 15 high powered laser cannon for offensive attacks and 6 low powered laser cannons for defence against missiles and fighters with this upgrade complete all that's left is the crew and dew to this being the main ship I had Red Queen's core moved to the space station this makes sure that she will not be destroyed or damaged when this ship fights.

Not long after the completion of the Victory's upgrade the grace period came to an end leaving us 2 months before we need to set of to earth in order to arrive at the right time to intervene and stop the Covenant from getting to the ark but the question remains what will the UNSC do when they realise I am alive and know what they were planning.

During the first months Red Queen was less active as she was done with the Victory's upgrade she could focus on the other project she started back when she first came online apparently she had been doing this other project in simultaneously while upgrading the Victory so it's almost complete and she wants to finish it before we set off to earth.

With only 2 weeks before we had to leave Red Queen appears Infront off me " Master I have finished the other project you and your team need to come to the Victory's laboratory immediately" the way she said that made her sound like an excited little girl who was hurrying to open her Christmas presents but I still inform my team and make my way to the laboratory of the ship.

As I enter the rest of my team are already there looking at something in silence curious to what can make Victor so quiet I look and to my amazement there are 5 full power suit armours similar to the Mjolnir armour that the UNSC Spartans use while i was looking Red Queen appeared using the holo projector put in the room "what do you all think this armour was specially designed for the five of you and is more advanced than the Mjolnir armour you had before" the way she talk had a hint of pride but if what she said is true than that means we had another advantage over the UNSC and the Covenant but how is she so certain its better" how do you know it's better than Mjolnir Spartan armour" the otgwr nod at my question " I made a sixth and used the data of Mjolnir armour in the data base to run test which showed this armour is 50% more powerful and efficient than Mjolnir armour" I look at the data showing on the terminal and true enough what she said was true but now come the important question " will our abilities work with this armour without destroying it" her response to this one question is important " I have created a new limiter system that allows you to directly control how much power you use it has also been integrated into the armour as for whether using your powers will damage the armour no as long as it's your armour you are wearing since I designed them for each of you specifically" her response this time was without pride or excitement just seriousness.

After being told which belong to who we began the task of wearing our armour and similar to Mjolnir it's not as simple as putting on a suit special equipment is used luckily for me the Victory has the equipment needed so myself and my team put our armours on each being unique my was my usual black with red, Victor's was orange and red showing his affinity to fire, Jess's Armour is a mix of light blue and dark Blue, Philip's armour is a earthy brown colour and Alice's armour is a mix of green and light green.

After putting the armour on we sent the next few hours getting used to operating the new features in side that were not present in the Mjolnir armour what was surprising was that despite the armour covering every inch of our bodies it did not effect our movements at all it even had a self repair feature this will prevent something similar to what happened on the ring from happening again.

After getting used to using the armour I decide to continue to wear it an head to the bridge to get ready for our departure to earth now every ship in our fleet has a full complement of crew Red Queen no longer needed to run the Victory meaning she can stay behind and run whatever projects are left and continue the clone production which has now been divided in to three one for civilian population which will run till a minimum of 500 million people are on Darkadia than stop and allow the clones to reproduce naturally and then there are military cloning which is used for the crew and troops of the military fleet these are the basic cloning process going on but the third one is for the production of super soldiers which uses the UNSC original Spartan Program that Master Chief and Oblivion team went through these clones are made for this purpose only than equipped with upgraded Mjolnir armour at the moment every ship has at least 3 Spartans onboard but the plan is to have 10 two reams of 5 on each ship for both offensive and defensive operations.

After arriving on the bridge of the Victory we began discussing the plan originally we wanted to take the entire fleet but the clone admrals stated that it would leave Darkadia defenceless from any attack so it's best to take half the fleet and leave the other half after so much time of production we had a total of 10 Frigates and 800 Corvettes that had full crew the others we ether still in production or still waiting for crew to man the ships and were not able to fully able to function.

So with all that's said during the meeting we will take with us 5 Frigates and 400 Corvettes although these seem alot due to the ships better engines and shield technology the amount of weapons are not the same as what the Covenant ships will have and is a little less to have space for the upgraded shield capacitors so it's estimated that we will lose some ships but the end result will be our victory.

With the decision made the 5 Frigates and 400 Corvettes began the process of supplying for the journey and for the fight loading all the required components to make quick repairs and emergency power cells incase the ships power systems were damaged after everything was loaded all ships began the navigation calculation needed to enter slipspace once this was done each ship had a countdown of the time to jump during this time they were allowed to have one last time to relax before they went to battle with an uncertainty if they will return.

Despite being cloned for the sole purpose of battle Dark saw them as actually people since even though they are clones their appearance were all different and each one was given the ability to think and learn allowing them to grow so giving them time to relax and have fun together would help them bond with eachother and fight together more effectively some of the female clones even tried to flirt with the men in oblivion team getting death glares from both Alice and Jess it was pretty funny watching the female clones stagger away in fear but I can understand since I know Alice has feelings for me as for Jess i know she likes Victor and i am pretty sure everyone in tge team knows except Victor he is to dense to realize it andis to busy being obsessed with fighting maybe one day he will realize it but today is not that day he is too busy getting drunk with someof the clone troopers.

Time files fast and before anyone knew the countdown for departure had come to the final 2 hours everyone has sobered up and has taken their positions on their ships I am on the bridge of the Victory sat on the captains chair while their are four chairs behind me in the shape of a v with me at tge front and two chairs on each side in these chairs are my team " open up fleet wind communications channel" I gave the order and the clone in charge of communication did as he was told " it's done sir" after his response I began my departure speech " I know most of you are wondering why we are doing this it's to prevent senseless death of those who can be saved we have the power to change the future that could cause destruction for both us and many races out there in the universe in order to do this we must ensure that the Covenant does not get to the ark preventing Master Chief and Cortana from being stranded their and inevitably ending with Cortanas massacre of many races across the universe that oppose her" I nod at the communication officer and he ends the fleet transmission before sending the command to enter slipspace.

A/N that's it for this chapter hope you enjoyed it it was a little difficult to write it this long as trying to get everything i want in and as you can see I have decided to prevent the Covenant from going to the Ark thus making halo 4 and 5 events cease to be this has a reason since Cortana will try to rule the galaxy and will hunt down any planet with life and ether control them or wipe them out so its not safe to leave events as they were if Dark has a hope to survive with that thanks for reading.
