Chapter 13 Arriving at the facility and Realising that not Everything is Like the Games

Waking through a icy tundra is not how I wanted to spend my day it does not help that it's too quiet here this does not sit well with me and not to mention in the games the key was in the rings facility called the library yet command sent me to the command facility of the ring something not right. As I continue my journey I start to see the facility in the distance and I quicken my pase one Infront of the entrance my system displays a messages

SYSTEM DISPLAY: Mission

Receive the key and take it to the library so that the original plot will not change(mission has been generated for members of your faction to ensure Master Chief completes his objective)

Reward for user: 100 Divine Points, your teammates armours will no longer be connected to the UNSC preventing intervention from them if your team joins you

Rewards for Faction: 1000 Divine Points for each member, a free skill of their choice and all Members will be teleported directly to a Corvette class ship far away from the halo ring( this includes the user as well but only once your faction has completed their mission note the Corvette class ship will be provided from the system store and cost the user nothing as long as the mission is complete)

Failure consequences: The Arbiter dies and the Sangheili do not leave the Covenant as well as the successfull activation of the Halo ring

DISPLAY CLOSES

I look at the display and blink a few times to see I am no seeing things after it sinks in I realize that the plot has changed and the system wants me to fix it I guess it makes sense since if I do not do it we all die but what does the system care[ I believe I can answer that Dark the systems purpose is to help the user and his allies stronger however it has a primary directive to ensure that the user survives why it has this I do not know it also carrys the wish of your body's original inhabitant which was to keep his team safe hence the teleportation as part of the mission rewards] I see so the system has to prioritise my life hence it giving me the mission to fix the changes to the plot that I can understand and as for the wish of the previous owner of this body I can understand why that's his wish his team is his life quite literally if his team dies so does he it was them who brought him back and them who act as a ground for his powers or my powers now I guess since the reason we have no emotion is because if we did our power would react to it and cause destruction around me but if a team member dies than there no guarantee that my emotions will not return temporarily but even that would be enough for chaos.

After finishing my thoughts I decide to complete this mission even if it kills me which would make no differences I would just get back up as long as my teams alive with that I head to the control panel that opens the entrance after activating it my radar detects movement from behind the door as it opens one fully open a swarm of small things come running out follow by what could only be described as monsters but I know to be flood infected and the little critters are flood infection forms I quickly point my smgs and begin shooting what's surprising is the these floods are acting as if they have not got a Gravemind or Protomind which should not be possible since I am certain that there should be a Gravemind but these flood are acting without intelligence making them fairly easy to dispose off.

Once all the flood that came out are disposed of I quickly check my ammo thankfully due to the low intelligence I was able to deal with them with melee combat mostly meaning I still have plenty of ammo to continue with that I enter the facility keeping my vigilance to prevent any sneak attacks incase the Gravemind used the previous flood to test if I was easy prey since I am not sure if the flood can infect me or not I would rather not become a flood [ thats not an issue since your physiology has been changed by the system making it impossible to be infected by the flood not to mention the Dark Matter in your body would destroy any parasite anyway so ether way you are immune to the flood and can not be used as biomass for them] I did not expect the system to do that well that's good news one less worry but they can still harm me so best not chance it still gonna be careful with that I move through the first corridor leading me to an open room where I see sentinels fighting flood forms and these one seem to be as intelligent as the ones that I met after opening the facility ether the Gravemind is in slumber or something or there's something inhibiting them not only that now that i think about it wasn't the control facility in a lake in the game why is this one here unless there are multiple control facilities but from the look at how many flood are here this looks like an abandoned control room since it's impossible for a reclaimer to use this one with this many flood only Master Chief would be lucky enough to actually succeed anyway since these sentinels are keeping the flood busy I should make my way around them and get the key as fast as possible with that thought I make my way to the door on the other side of the room avoiding any contact with the flood or sentinels one I reach the door I quickly go in and go to the control panel and seal it shut to prevent the flood in that room from coming after me once they are done with the sentinels.

A/N thats it for this chapter hope you guys like it and it's the second mission from the system as well as some additional information on the systems purpose and info on main character I will go into greater detail why his fate is tied to his team at a later date.
