ch.5: life and death

There is absolutely no escaping my fate. I will send you back to hell in pieces. I will make you suffer until you are begging me to spare you, and then I will torture you mercilessly until I hear you beg me to stop. Am I understood, little one?"

The blade pressed further into Elitiah's throat, drawing a trickle of blood. He couldn't breathe properly. Every single breath he took hurt, his heart pounding furiously within his chest, threatening to burst through his ribcage. His vision started to blur. Was it because of the intense pain burning deep inside his soul? Or maybe it was because of Lucifer's threats? Either way, he feared for his life.

"You may begin!" Lucifer yelled. "I want the blood of every single demon. Be creative, little one! Make it as painful as possible."

"Wait!" someone called out.

All eyes turned towards the intruder who had managed to sneak past the others. He was an angel, wearing white robes and had his wings hidden beneath the folds of his clothes. A bright red cross shone proudly on his forehead as he stepped forward.

Lucifer scoffed. "Well, well! If it isn't our guest of honour. I assume your mission was successful then?"

"I am afraid there has been a slight hitch. The demon was captured, but we failed to capture him alive. He seems rather resistant to our powers, especially since he's been feeding off demons instead of humans. We tried everything, but we cannot find the right combination for killing a demon. I fear that his power is far stronger than the rest of us combined, and we still have no idea where he has gone."

The other angels gasped. They had never heard of such a thing. One couldn't simply kill a demon, especially one of such powerful nature. It was forbidden, yet here they were, unable to contain one of its kind.

"Then let us see what it means to take the life of a demon," Lucifer grinned maliciously.

"How will we do that?" Someone asked.

"Don't worry! We will think of something."

The angel gave a curt nod. Turning on his heel he hurried out of the chamber, his fellow angels following closely behind. Before leaving, however, he cast one last glance over his shoulder at his brother and Elitiah. He smirked and walked away quickly; his subordinates following his lead.

It didn't take long for them all to disappear from sight.

"Anyways shall we continue Elitiah on killing You? but first..." Lucifer said with a smile.

"Oh please, tell me you won't let me die! Please!" Elitiah begged, his voice breaking.

Lilith's screams faded slowly as the door slammed shut, the sound resonating throughout the chamber, shaking Elitiah violently to his core. There was nothing else he could do. Nothing he could do except wait for the end. For Lucifer to end him. And for everything he loved to die along with him.

Enoch stood alone, waiting anxiously in front of his cage. All around him, demons were screaming in agony as Lucifer tore them apart, causing blood to spray across the walls of his prison. He wanted nothing more than to help Lilith, even if he himself had been forced into the situation in the first place. If Lilith hadn't been trapped within, he knew she could never stand up for herself, but that didn't matter now, did it? He should have seen it coming when Lucifer sent Lilith after her in the first place. After years of being together they both knew the risk they were taking by bringing a human into their world. It didn't surprise him that Lilith had fallen victim to his trap. Still, he hated that he wasn't able to be there to protect her like he always had been.

Once again he looked down at Lilith. Her once bright red hair was now stained with blood and her clothes were torn from the constant struggle. She seemed to be fading quickly, her strength starting to fail her. Even though Lilith had spent weeks locked in a room, there were no signs that she had given up on her fight. In fact, she held onto Elitiah's hand tightly, as if she were afraid that he might leave her behind.

They watched Lucifer as he ripped apart his enemies, laughing triumphantly with every death they caused. He didn't seem to care about the injuries he inflicted himself, and they only seemed to anger him even more. It almost seemed as if he enjoyed watching all the death he brought to his people. As if he relished in their suffering and their deaths, and wished to see them die in more ways than one.

He was evil. Lucifer was evil.

And that was enough to make Elitiah sick to his stomach.

He looked up as Lucifer grabbed his brother's arm, twisting it violently as he pushed him harshly into the wall behind him.

"Lucifer!" Lilith screeched, tears running freely from her beautiful blue eyes. "Let him go! He doesn't deserve this!"

"Of course he does," Lucifer growled, gripping the front of her dress tightly and forcing her against the wall. "If he didn't deserve it I wouldn't have done it to him first."

"But you can't kill him! Not him!"

"Watch me, little bird," Lucifer smirked, raising his hand higher.

"No! Stop! STOP IT, LUCE!"

Before Lucifer could do anything else, Lilith broke free from him, pushing him back with surprising force despite how weak she appeared to be. She stumbled backwards a few steps as Lucifer stared at her in surprise, a smirk on his lips as he watched her get to her feet, wiping off the blood on her face and trying to regain her balance.

"So, you want to die? Very well!" Lucifer shouted angrily, charging towards Lilith without hesitation.

Lucifer reached Lilith just as she turned to run towards the door, knocking her to the ground before pinning her under him, his weight resting heavily on top of her.

"LILITH! NO! LUCE PLEASE STOP!" Elitiah screamed in terror as Lucifer's sharp claws sunk deeply into Lilith's shoulders.

Elitiah struggled to break free from the chains binding him to the wall, but it was useless. He didn't have any power anymore, nor any strength. All he could do was watch Lucifer murder Lilith in cold blood.

Suddenly Lucifer's body tensed, jerking backward as if he had felt pain. His eyes widened in shock, before turning to stare at Lilith's pale lifeless body. Her head was tilted upwards, staring directly at Elitiah while Lucifer was frozen on top of her.

"What's going on here?"
