The Rise of Humans

The sun rises from the East and as it slowly spreads its warm rays throughout the world, a teenage boy around the age of 15 was running around with heavyweights of 50 kg on his legs and arms and that of 75 kg on his chests. His attire is a bit countryside wearing a brown long sleeve shirt with an image of a broken mountain top and has black pants with slight cuts all around it.

This person is Daniel Soul. He currently training so that he can become a Hunter. A Hunter is a really prestigious job or position in this world.

Nearly a Thousand years ago, the planet of Solaris was dominated by humans and they were the top of the food chain. They made great discoveries in science and over time managed to even cure the pollution and greenhouse effect affecting their planet.

Solaris was five times larger than Earth and has many places similar to Earth's geography but the only difference was temperature. The average temperature ranged from 5- 35 in the most favorable places at those times. So there was a completely different climatic scenario in regard to us.

The population of humans on the planet of Solaris before that fateful day was nearly 75 billion. Although they were much advanced instead of exploring the outer space and find other alien life forms, they opted for the various deep oceans.

And there they found many resources in the ocean which could sustain them for years. Sometime later, A huge meteorite struck the planet of Solaris which took away nearly 80 % of the total human population on the planet.

This meteorite had almost sent humans to the stone age if not for some select few people who through their knowledge and wisdom brought the fallen human race back to its knees.

Although it was a far cry from their initial situation it was much better than the apocalyptic situation. But this wasn't the end to their trouble. This meteorite has broken into multiple pieces as it penetrated the atmosphere and the largest fell directly into the ocean away from everyone's reach except for sea creatures.

But it still generated some radiations which slowly transmutated the people and animals who survived and lived on the planet. Of the surviving, 15 billion more than half about 9 billion passed away as they weren't able to withstand this radiation while the others along with animals who survived gained something great out of it.

It was the Gene. The Gene is a special mutation in the DNA of people, animals, and plants which gave them potential to create and perform some things which were nigh impossible in the past.

This gene is a special genetic code in the body which is normally recessive and can be activated at a certain age when a certain level of strength is achieved. This age is based on the foundation of the body and what special things he inherited from their parents.

Like humans, animals and plants too mutated under the influence of the meteorite's radiation and they became more powerful, intelligent and ruthless.

So to combat these mutated beings, Humans began to hunt and protect themselves hence came the name ' Hunter '.

Later it was discovered that different people have different grades of Gene or you can say that their genes allow them to grow stronger much more quickly than others.

The Gene code of humans was divided into Omega gene, Beta Gene and alpha gene.

Omega being the weakest in upgrade speed and being found in most abundance as the vast majority of people has this gene in them.

the next was Beta Gene which was rare. It can be found in only one person among every one million people. So most of the top level fighters were of this Gene group.

and finally the Alpha gene. This is the rarest of all and only one among a billion people, it is found.

This gene made the earliest criteria for division of class but later research on this world revealed that the Gene of a human is not fixed and could be upgraded if the core of the mutated beings was used.

But the Gene can absorb only a certain number of core and after that number is exceeded they aren't effective. Also, the person needs to absorb the core related to his attribute ( which will be explained in detail later).

Human beings after surviving the near-apocalyptic scenario joined together and formed various settlement throughout the world of Solaris. These were called City of Hope as they provided home, shelter, and security to the people.

As humans evolve so did the animals and they created large groups themselves and attacked the weak humans for their food as the flavor of humans was increased exponentially for the wild beasts after the meteor strike.

So to protect themselves and the people living in these cities the hunters often leave the city to clean off the monsters around the city.

Some lands was also cleared around the city to grow grains and different vegetables and fruits for sustaining life. Hunters often scout these areas to prevent possible invasion or attacks by the beasts.

All parts of these beasts are expensive and can fetch enough money for an average family to survive a couple of years without working and of course, no extravagant purchase should be made in that duration.

Being a Hunter is a staircase for quick rise in status and power so it is one of the most attractive job for hot-blooded youths even if the rate of survival in that occupation is less than 10 percent.

Similarly, Daniel Soul who is the eldest son of a middle-class family who wanted and yearned for power to protect his family and friends. He also wants to be famous around the world for his fighting skills just like any youth his age.

Daniel was mature for someone his age since he was 6 years old, he had started to exercise and train his body you reach his current level.

He is a five-star level fighter. It is above average rating for an average school in the city of Birch in which he resided in along with his family and two younger siblings with elder one being a girl of nine years of age and boy of four years of age.

He has been running around the city since five o clock at dawn and continued till it was eight o clock in the morning. Although it seemed impressive that he could run for hours without tiring out, it is rumored that adult hunters could run for a week and won't get tired.

After he finished his workout, he arrived in front of an apartment complex which has been his home for the past 15 years. He reached the door and knocked. The door opened to reveal a woman in her late thirties who wore a purple sundress and has an apron over her dress. She was light blue short hair which only reached her neck.

Although she wasn't an Earth-shattering beauty, she was beautiful. Seeing the steady breathing visage of her son at the door she immediately pulled him inside and then threw him into the bathroom to clean himself and join them for breakfast.
