0005 - More training

[A/N: Once this chapter is posted, I will probably start irregularly posting chapters]

It turns out Pain Resistance only raises the bar in how much pain a person can endure before falling unconscious. Unfortunately, after being brutally beaten by the trainer and eventually falling unconscious, I learned this the hard way.

Luckily, I healed pretty fast.

This is expected when my HP is 90, and I regenerate nearly 50 points every hour...

I primarily trained with the trainer to get used to my body after it was upgraded by so many stats.

I also assigned all of my free stats into any stat I needed or would be helpful in the future.

\======================/

As one could see, I assigned my free stats to Strength, Perception, and Reaction, mostly so I could react to the speed and movement of my trainer and hopefully overpower him.

Neither of which seemed to happen, might I add.

You see, from what I can now tell, adult Yautja seems to be multiple times stronger than an average human, way faster, and overall more dangerous than a human could be.

...

Days passed as I only continued to hone my skills and experience in combat with my spar against the trainer.

From what I could tell, our trainer, Yi-Holmbe, seemed to be satisfied with my growth and has been personally teaching and training me, but it also means he has been the most strict when it comes to my training.

He left no room for mistakes, any mistake that I did make, and he made sure I would remember, either by ruthlessly beating me or exploiting my mistakes, then ruthlessly beating me.

From what I have learned, Yi-Holmbe, believes greatly that violence solves problems.

But I won't deny that his...techniques have led to massive growth in my abilities.

Eventually, when two weeks passed by, Yi-Holmbe began training us on how to use other weapons.

While we did have to train with our wristblades, Yi-Holmbe let us decide what other weapons we would train with.

I chose to train with a Yautja Bow, Glaive, Scimitar, and Shuriken.

While Yi-Holmbe did warn me that it would be hard to train with all of those weapons, he also warned me that it could affect my mobility.

I should also mention that my peers and I have obtained our Bio-helmets, Cloak, and Wrist Gauntlet.

For the next couple of days, Yi-Holmbe forced us to get accustomed to our new equipment that every Yautja has and uses.

The wearer gains access to multiple vision modes through the Bio-Helmet, including zoom capabilities, facilitates Vocal Mimicry, and includes breathing apparatus, diagnostics, and visual and audio recording systems. The helmet often also incorporates a red targeting laser used in conjunction with a Plasmacaster.

Which I cannot get until I become Blooded by killing my first Xenomorph and marking my helmet and face with the Blooded Mark.

Before long, I gained skills for training with the weapons and began leveling up the skills through my training with Yi-Holmbe.

Two more weeks passed, and I hit level 20 in all of my new combat skills, excluding Mana Bolt since I have not used it in fear of being killed by the clan.

Pulling up my status, I noticed that I had enough Path Points to complete my otherworlder path.

For every 5 PP I put into the path, I gained 10 Health, Stamina, or Mana.

Once It hit 25 PP, I gained 2 Regeneration for all of my attributes.

Once I hit the last PP in the path, I got yet another 2 Regeneration for all of my attributes.

[Path Completion Rewards: +1 to all stats, +1 free stat per level, +5 Health, Mana, and Stamina per level, +1 Regeneration per level]

[While not originally your home, Otherworlders such as yourself must adapt and overcome the newfound worlds or dimensions you find yourself in or perish. You will find that it is easier to adapt to foreign environments]

That's...strange.

The rewards were well worth it, but the message at the end was somewhat unsettling.

So I am not the only one this happened to?

Perhaps there are other reincarnators somewhere within this universe?

Although if that were true, then my new life would be even more dangerous than it already is if they had access to the System as well...

But enough about that distressing train of thought.

When I got my wrist gauntlet, the first thing I did with it was figure out how it works.

From what I could tell, the software was somewhat...simple, with there only being a couple of programs to activate specific features on the gauntlet.

For example, there was a self-destruct module, a cloaking module that would allow the wielder to control their cloak, control and access the information on the Bio-helmet, a Sat-Com, and a few more features.

I was also trying to grow used to the Bio-Helmet features and heated wire mesh undersuit with temperature control elements to help the Predator adapt to the harshest of cold environments.

All in all, I was somewhat satisfied by the level of technology the Yautja offered. Still, in their tribal-like society, I feel that the Yautja are not even approaching their full potential...

I guess it should have been assumed with the long life spans the Yautja had.

For example, while humans had a life span of around 80-120 years in the twenty-second century, their limited lifespan allowed them to grow at a much faster pace in both technology and culture.

So with some Yautja being able to live for thousands of years, and perhaps even more, of course, the Yautja wouldn't evolve as quick sociology as Humanity.

The question is before I eventually perish, will I be able to change the ways of the Yautja?

Or will I die long before I can reach that point?
