Proving Their Bond To Be Real 2

"I'm sorry," Xavier said before he used the dagger to cut Tashina's wrist open and the trickles of blood stained the white carpet with its messy shade of red.

Tashina flinched as a surge of pain rushed down her arm.

"What are you doing?" she hissed with novel pain and anger.

"You wanted proof for us to be together? Then watch this," Xavier took her wrist and held it place despite her squirms to get away from him.

He used his other hand to hover above her bleeding wrist and closed his eyes as he tried to bring out the same sensation he felt when he saved her in the market.

In a short while, a white buzz of energy wafted from his palm and to her wrist. In just what felt like mere seconds, the wound that was once an open gash closed up and her skin was left without a single scar.

"What..." Tashina gasped out as the wound closed up.

"What...is that?" she queried as she ran her hand over her wrist which was cut open a few seconds ago.

"That is how you're alive now" Xavier answered and she raised her brows as she became even more confused.

"What?" she frowned upon his vague answer.

"You might want to sit down for this" he said and slowly dragged her back to the bed in which she sat, a little bit reluctantly.

"I don't know how vampires find their life partner but in our realm, it's a lot more different. We have another being in which the Moon Goddess binds our souls together before we were born, and we call them 'mates'. They are everything to us, we can smell them even from a thousand miles ahead, we feel their pain, rage and happiness. There are some cases that werewolves dies because they weren't able to find their mate" Tashina unconsciously leaned forward as she became intrigued by the story.

"They have the ability to communicate in their minds even though they just met and when one is injured, the other has the power to heal his or her mate in the expense of their own health"

"But...how? How is that possible? Are you trying to say that I'm your mate?" she asked in bewildering confusion.

"Yes, that's exactly what I mean. I don't know how this may sound to you but you died in the market, I felt your soul leave your body and it was our bond that brought you back to life" Xavier muttered slowly as he gaged her reaction.

"What?" she held her head in anguish.

"I know it's confusing, I know you're overwhelmed, I was like that too until I met with someone who told me the entire truth. He told me that our bond isn't a mistake nor is it something that is temporary but instead, our relationship was foreseen by an ancient Oracle. We were destined to be together" Xavier held her hands.

"I can't believe this..." she shook her head in slight dismay.

"You being able to read my mind, we being able to feel each other. This irresistible pull that we have towards each other. It's all destiny" Xavier bade.

"What-what does that mean for us? For you? For me?" she said after a few silent moments.

"I don't know about you but this feeling I have for you grows every single minute of the day and I don't want to stop it, I want to follow its lead and wherever it takes me to, I'm willing to surrender under its command if it means I can have you" Xavier confessed and his eyes bleed with sincerity.

Tahina felt her heart tore apart. The desperate look he had on his eyes for her to reciprocate what he said was overpowering that she had to look away even though she knew just that simple action of hers would hurt him.

"I need some time and space to think" she said as she slowly took her hands out of his.

"Tashina, you know you can't stay without me" Xavier pleaded.

"Please, Xavier, today has been a very long day and with all these new details in my head, I feel like I'm about to burst out of exhaustion. Just...give me some time, I need to think through and with you here, I can't think straight" she said earnestly.

"OK, OK. I'll go but I'll be in the room right next to you. If you need anything, I'm always here" he pointed to the side of her head and a small smile danced on her lips.

"Overprotective much" she rolled her eyes with a playful smirk.

"Tashina" he warned with a stern look.

"Alright, alright. I'll inform you even when I want to go the bathroom. Are you satisfied now?" she teased and her light tone made his smile to finally come out from its hiding corner.

"I just can't afford to lose you again. I won't be able to handle it a second time," he cupped her face into his large hands.

"I know," she said with a knowing look.

Xavier moved back while keeping his eyes on her for a minute longer then he turned around, about to leave the room.

"Xavier," she called him and he turned back and was shocked to find her right in front of him.

She gazed into his eyes for what seemed like a lifetime and it made his breath come out in short peals of air.

Tashina weakly reached out and wrapped her hands over his torso as she buried her face in his chest. He didn't waste a minute and quickly held her waist as lightly as he could so he wouldn't put pressure on her wounds.

She breathed in his sweet smell from his shirt and found a satisfying comfort from his presence. He rested his chin on her head and closed his eyes, trying to lock this rare moment forever in his memories.

'Thank you for saving my life' she said through the mindlink and he smiled out in calmness.

'Anytime, my little spark' he placed a small, passionate kiss on her head and his graceful lips were the antidote to her languishing pain.

After they pulled apart, Xavier stepped out of the room and the small smile that brushed his lips were miraculously breathtaking to anyone who laid sight on the Alpha.

He ordered the guards standing outside to never once take their eyes of the door and to put their ears down in case she needs help inside.

Though a bit shocked and confused with the protective tone he used to address them, they bowed their head in respect as they vowed to protect the being that lay behind the door with their lives.

The Alpha strode down the hallway as his lazy footsteps left a small thud to the empty hall. The few maids that passed by him raised questioning eyebrows at the Alpha who had a tiny grin on his face.

They know their Alpha to be cold and ruthless. They have never once seen him raise his lips except when he scowled at something he disapproved of.

So what was the reason behind his joyful mood this night?

Xavier barged into a room without bothering to knock because he literally owned the place. He made his way to the bed through the darkness and in one swift motion, he slapped the butt of the snoring figure.

The figure jolted up with shock and began to hysterically attack the air before Xavier gave him a slap on his cheek and that calmed him down.

"What do you want?" Ren groaned out in annoyance after he saw who woke him up from his beauty sleep.

"Get up, Ren" Xavier said as he turned on the light switch which made Ren to bury his blonde head inside his fluffy blankets with a devastating whine.

"Leave me alone! It's just midnight, you grumpy buffer of pain" Ren wailed and Xavier rolled his eyes at his cousin's drama.

"Shut your humongous, dirty mouth and come give me something to replenish my energy" Xavier slumped into the wooden chair by the window.

When a werewolf uses his bond to revive his mate, he ultimately loses his energy at the expense of it because he would be giving out his physical strength to heal his mate.

So the exertion of today's incidents were taking a toul on the Alpha and he needed to get his strength back before he could sleep.

Ren dejectedly got up from his bed and went toward his drawer to take out a small pill. He poured water in a glass and handed it to his cousin with a glare.

"Well, I would have asked for more courtesy but who am I to complain to the Alpha" Ren rolled her green eyes and Xavier took a look at his messy blonde hair and his red silk pajamas.

"Ren will always be Ren" Xavier shook his head before taking the pill with a grimace.

"The mate's bond sucks a lot energy, the pill will help you get it back but it will only work if you sleep it off" Ren yawned and plopped on his king sized bed.

Xavier got the silent message and stood up with a smirk on his face after dropping the glass on the table.

"Thanks for the pill, man. Go to sleep because I know, tomorrow morning, you're going to reeling my ears with how I woke you up in middle of the night" Xavier turned off the lights and stepped out the room after he heard an inaudible sound from his cousin.

He walked down the hallway again and entered the room besides his private chamber. He settled his eyes on the door before he closed it behind him.

After taking a shower, he jumped into the bed and he quickly fell asleep with a certain vampire lurking in his head.
