Attention Of The Demon

A few minutes after Sebastian left with Oliver and Elizabeth, multiple enforcers appeared in the area.

They arrived in futuristic vehicles that looked similar to police cars but they hovered a few inches above the ground.

Getting out of the vehicles, they wore dark blue uniforms with a helmet covering their face. An enforcer badge was worn over the left chest area of their uniform. Along with black belts, that held different gadgets.

They appeared prideful and carefree once arrived because they were the law of the small and peaceful Drayton city. However, that facade crumbled when most enforcers had to take off their helmets and throw up when they arrived at some scenes.

They thought that the barrier being put up would be some child's prank, but things changed when they saw all the damage and realized it might be an act of terrorism.

Things got worst when they searched the crime scenes and found out that these terrorists were wearing their uniforms, using their vehicles, along with the equipment they'd never seen which was later identified as military-grade equipment.

The higher-ups of the enforcers want to try and keep everything under wraps from the public and report it to the military, but that didn't work as many small aircraft along with multiple ball-looking drones appeared on the scene.

The media came and started broadcasting the events in Drayton to the world news.

This surprised and scarred most normal and low-level metahumans of the world as Earth was peaceful for the last 2 years.

At one of the crime scenes, tears of joy started to fall down a thin man's eyes as he found the thing everyone's been looking for.

"Cheif you're not going to believe this we found footage of what happened here!" The thin man wearing a blue enforcer uniform said while running.

Everyone turned toward the man in surprise as they weren't able to find anything in the last 30 minutes even with their advanced technology and were starting to give up.

"Finally a useful person in this shithole," A fat man said while getting out of an enforcer truck.

"Huh?" The thin man said as he was running toward his chief but suddenly felt himself being lifted.

Everyone in the area stared at the man holding their comrade with awe, envy, and surprise.

"Who do you think you are holding my officer like that!" The fat chief exclaimed while spit flew out his mouth. However, when he saw the uniform the man was wearing his face paled.

Everyone looked at the man like he was a dead man, but the seven-foot-tall young man wearing a black uniform with four gold stars on his right shoulder and three white stripes on his left didn't glance at him as he scan the surrounding.

"I thank the enforcers for their hard work. Now, however, this crime scene along with any information found will be handed over to the star corps and military." He stated with no room for negotiations.

Not a few seconds later multiple black hover vehicles, aircraft, and uniformed metahumans appeared.

Their presence, vehicles, and weapons made the enforcers feel like they were just children playing with toys.

"Now show me that footage, little man." The man said as he placed the short man down and patted his shoulders.

Knowing that the star corps and military arrived the enforcers knew their job was over. Some were happy about leaving the crime scene while others felt unsatisfied about it.

However, nobody would complain as it would fall on deaf ears or they could be incarcerated.

They quickly packed up while handing everything they had.

The enforcers along with the media were asked to leave the area and once they were a dark barrier similar to the energy barrier was placed around the area making sure no one could see what they were doing.

After everything was private, the star corps along with the military did their own investigation using technology way more advanced than the ones presented to the public.

Compared to the enforcers they found more detailed information while also confirming their suspicions.

In not more than 15 minutes they finished all their investigations while repairing all the damages done.

Of course, the repairs were done so quickly because the materials in the area were cheap and abundant. If damage like this was done in a bigger city it might have taken days to repair the damage not to mention minutes.

Currently, the man who was the first to arrive on the scene was sitting in one of the aircraft flying back to base while talking to a woman who was his superior.

"Miss, after all the investigations and checking any intact corpses. We found the same tattoo on their right shoulder as that organization." He said while clenching his fist.

There was some history between him and the organization and knowing they were back angered him.

"So, those roaches are back eh. What were they after this time and did they succeed?" The woman on the other side of the video asked bringing him back from his memories.

A weird expression appeared on the man's face as he remember what he saw in the video.

"What is it Jayce, you know I don't like asking twice." The woman asked with impatience.

"Umm, well no they failed. As for what they were after, it was a 12-year-old boy who I later found out was Oliver Hayes." He said while touching a screen which made a picture of a 7 year Oliver appear along with Jessica (his mother) and Elizabeth.

One of the woman's brows rose.

"One of Jessica's mysterious children," She muttered. "Interesting no wonder no one knew where they were since Drayton is one of the places we have no surveillance. Continue, what else is there I don't see why they would go after a powerless boy. Maybe to force Jessica's hand for something?" She asked.

"That's the thing, miss we don't know what they were after. However, what I do is that he isn't powerless and according to the video he has at least 4 different powers. Each is very unique. He can create things out of thin air, heat the surrounding area then explode, store things and then take them out at a later date, and then teleport to items. Since the camera which recorded him couldn't differentiate powers, we can't find out if he was using an ability, skill, mana, or bloodline. At first, I believed most of them were dungeon skills however we've learned he is a newly awakened..."

"Which means they can't be skills." The woman said cutting him off.

The room descends into silence after his words.

"I see that is very unusual. Awakening more than one power over the age of 10 has rarely happened before and on top of that, he has 4 interesting powers. Though that doesn't change the fact that he is still a Rank 0. Why would he surprise you or target them? What else is there." She said rubbing her chin in suspicion.

"I think it would be better to send you the video. I hope you remember that he just awaken recently and he's still a boy." The man said while swiping the screen next to him. He then pulled up the video while making it visible to the woman on the other side and himself.

The video played for 15 minutes however it was different from what really happened at the 15-minute mark when everyone turned to dust and Oliver was taken into the portal.

The video instead showed Oliver killing the rest of the men single-handedly before Sebastian appeared to take him and Elizabeth.

The whole time both parties were silent as they watched almost every single move of Oliver's. From the time he killed the person outside his door all the way until the end.

They couldn't find anything that happened before the group appear leaving some mysteries about why the house door was broken or the inside was a mess, but they didn't care as their main focus was Oliver.

When the clip finished, the woman who was on the other side of the screen started chucking until breaking out into a laugh.

"Oh my god, what a madman!" She said in between a laugh. "You said that brat is only 12. On top of that, he awakened late and still fucked those bastards up." The man sat in silence as he heard his superior die of laughter.

If he was honest he wanted to laugh too. He found it funny how the organization that had been a thorn in their ass for years was getting their ass kicked by a child. However, he controlled himself.

After a few minutes of laughing the woman on the other side composed herself.

"Wow, he is definitely too young," She said while rubbing her chin. "I know Sebastian is protecting him now, but keep tabs on him. In 4 years when he becomes an adult make sure he signs up for Star Haven. I have a feeling he will end up in 50 for their test and after that, I want to have a meeting with him. Well, that all depends on if he can break through rank 0. Good work Jayce you found me something to be interested in for these next few years." She said before ending the call leaving a baffled captain.

He sat blankly in silence for a minute.

"Wow, I feel a little bad now Oliver. I just made you catch the demon's attention." He voiced out with some pity.

He got up and tapped a few buttons on the Holo screen before turning it off and leaving the room.

Not a few seconds later he got a notification on his watch, which was the video of Oliver's fight.

He walked in the hallway while playing the video over again watching everything Oliver did.

He passed some soldiers who saluted him when they saw his ranking, but he didn't mind as he continued to walk to his lodging.

'Although his powers are indeed unique and somewhat too strong for someone who just awakened. To think the demon believes he can enter the top 100 for that hellish test not to mention the top 50 is surprising.'

He lay on his bed while switching the clip of Oliver to another child who looked to be around 8 years old. The boy was fighting over 100 metahumans at the same time while having his eyes covered, arms and legs bound. Every time he kicked a man there would be an explosion and he was being ganged up by at least 6 men at a time. However, he was still winning the battle.

'Personally, I don't believe he can do it when he has to go up against little monsters like these, but let's see what you can do, Oliver Hayes.' He thought before looking at another video that had a girl who was shooting different multi-color beams out of her fingers.

"So many little monsters are being born. Maybe it's a sign." He muttered before going to the next clip.
