Soon they both stood up and started to walk towards their class and Ye Jun to the library.
"What about the footage? Did you see who it was?" Min Jae asked.
"No, I was in a hurry. I'll take a look at it, at home."
Min Jae nodded.
"But, who told you there was another person there?"
Ye Jun looked at him.
"The gossipers."
He smirked, and Min Jae scoffed, shaking his head.
Soon they reached the library building and Ye Jun looked at him
"I will go now. This-" holding the pen drive up, he said.
"-is a secret between us. Deal?"
Min Jae nodded, "Deal."
Ye Jun nodded and walked inside the building when Min Jae asked him one last question.
"Why do you want to help her so much?"
Ye Jun stopped. He was finding the reason himself. What could he possibly say?
He turned around and spoke.
"To make Nari know that I am trustworthy."
"That's it?" Min Jae asked, surprised.
Ye Jun nodded, "Yeah, right now."
"You know that doesn't make sense."
Ye Jun raised his one brow.
"There are many things that don't make sense. Like, you're giving Nari the match ticket though you'd met her a day ago."
"And, you are friendly with her all the time, though you have many girls to be friendly with."
Min Jae relaxed his shoulders.
"I just like being with her. She is the only one who doesn't make a hype out of me. And, the ticket I gave was because a day before I had seen her outside the counter with a long face."
Ye Jun scoffed.
"So it means you helped all the girls who weren't able to get tickets?"
"No-"
"Then why just Nari?"
"Just because she was the only one in the stadium who didn't come because of my face, but my skills."
Ye Jun stared at him with his monotonous face. One thing was clear for him, Min Jae hadn't started to like Nari, yet. And deep inside he was relieved.
"Okay then, goodbye!"
Without sparing another second, he ran towards the stairs, towards Nari.
Min Jae stood there for a while, thinking deeply. He wondered if Ye Jun knew that his reason didn't make sense. Why would you want to gain the trust of someone so desperately that a student like him would break rules? Min Jae was sure that either Ye Jun was hiding his feelings or he was still unaware.
~~~~~~
Nari was done with organising the library, but Ye Jun was still struggling with the books. She looked at him, shook her, and sighed.
"I'll help you," she said as she approached him.
He looked at her and hesitantly agreed. He couldn't understand Nari these days. She might get angry with him sometimes and sometimes we could act like normal friends. He wondered what Nari was having in her mind these days. He kept quiet.
On the other hand, Nari felt extremely guilty for yelling at Ye Jun earlier. He didn't reply to her or defend himself and made her more guilty than ever. She wasn't able to understand herself. Sometimes, she would feel extremely happy that Ye Jun is with him but won't show it out. And sometimes she would get angry when he asked him questions about the incident's day or anything else. He, keeping quiet right now, made her heart heavy.
Ye Jun was carrying books while she organised them. Both pondering deeply and silently in their minds.
"I am sorry." Ye Jun said suddenly.
Nari paused and looked at him, confused.
"Last three days, you would've done all this work alone." He looked down.
"Ah! No, it's fine. You had a reason. And also, senior Min Jae helped me."
Ye Jun looked up at her with a not-so-friendly gaze.
"Kim Min Jae?" He asked.
Nari took a book from his hand and nodded.
He looked in front, towards the shelves and sighed in anger.
'Kim Min Jae, what are you up to?'
He wondered. It took another twenty minutes for them to complete.
"Let's go, it's done now," Nari said as she looked at the shelf, satisfied.
Ye Jun looked at her and nodded.
Nari walked ahead and Ye Jun was a step behind her. His bag strap was tangled and so, he was trying to untangle it. It was all silent when suddenly a voice rang in his ear.
"Nari-ah!"
The voice wasn't didn't sound pleasant to him.
"Oh- senior Min Jae!" Nari's cheerful voice spoke. She was as usual happy to see him.
But as she said his name Ye Jun popped his head up.
"I am free today so let's -"
"Oh, let's go, Nari!" Ye Jun came running and interrupted in between.
Min Jae looked at him confused and Nari glared at him.
"You're here too?" He asked further, acting innocent.
They both looked at each other, the glare was monotonous but not friendly at all.
"Umm..." Nari felt extremely awkward in silence for the first time.
"Let's go all together?" Ye Jun suggested.
Nari looked at Min Jae. Min Jae looked at her and nodded calmly. She smiled at him.
"Lets g-"
Min Jae approached Nari but Ye Jun held his hand and kept it on his shoulder. Min Jae frowned slightly.
"Woah! When did you two become so friendly?"
Seeing Min Jae keeping his hand on Ye Jun's shoulder Nari commented. Min Jae struggled a second but then adjusted somehow.
They both cleared their throats.
"Since this morning!" and said in unison and looked at each other.
Nari appreciated their friendship and didn't want to interrupt.
"Okay, then I'll walk ahead of you two."
"No!" Ye Jun exclaimed, startling Nari.
"I mean, let's go all three together, I'll walk by the side."
Nari nodded.
"Okay."
She looked at Min Jae and smiled.
"Let's go, Senior."
She held him by his arm and started to walk. Ye Jun, not at all appreciated it. Today the atmosphere was silent too but there was a bit of uneasiness and awkwardness Nari couldn't ignore. She didn't know what the reason was. Little she was frustrated about Ye Jun's presence there but she couldn't admit in front of him that she liked Min Jae.
Both the boys walked with their hands pocketed and looking here and there. Nari walked in between them with her hands in front. Her eyes fixated on the front. The situation was too uneasy for her, and the reason she didn't know.
Nari, who was looking in front, suddenly noticed five boys approaching them. She looked at those tall guys with nice build-up, she gulped in fear.
"Excuse me," she mumbled to both of them who were looking down while walking.
"Hm?" they both said in unison, their head still lowered.
"Do you know them?" she asked, her eyes fixated on them.
Both of the boys popped their heads up and Min Jae spoke.
"Young Min?"
Ye Jun and Nari both looked at him, it seemed as if he knew them. And it was confirmed when one of them yelled his name.
"Yah Kim Min Jae! You bastard!"
