The New Dungeon Master

Seven adventurers entered into a low level dungeon. The dungeon was dark, having a stinging smell of death lingering on every corner. The little bit of light illuminated by the crystal was not enough to light up the darkness of the dungeon. 

There were two assassin, a mage, a priestess, an archer, a warrior and a tank. These adventurers were of C+ rank and their sole purpose was to investigate this dungeon as recently low level adventurers were having a hard time there. Since a few days ago low level adventurers were reporting suspicious activities occurring in the dungeon. Monster suddenly became strong, their attacks were organised as if someone was leading them, commanding them. Even the last deployed adventurers never returned from there.

As the C+ rank adventurers ventured deep inside the dungeon the mage brightened up the surrounding by a small sparkle spell. The spell made everything visible inside the dungeon but it also attracted the monsters towards them, like a light attracts flies towards it.

"Everyone come into formation."

2nd tier spell [ Light Barrier]

The priestess buffed everyone with her light barrier spell as the tank came forward for the defence.

Light Barrier spell was a low tier defence spell which protects the wielder from physical and magical attacks.

Incoming monsters were usual goblins and kobolds. Different from the reports the monsters had no specific formation or strategy. They were just scattering here and there and attacking randomly. It was not much of a threat to these C+ rank adventurers.

Without any second thought the archer bolted multiple arrows towards the horde of monsters. The warriors and tank moved forward and provided a rear ground for the ranger and mage while slashing the goblins and kobolds who dared come closer. As the tank and warrior engaged in the battle, two assassin siblings sprang forward, with their electrifying speed they split the throats of many monsters and jumped from one target to another.

Getting sufficient time the mage was now ready for his area attack. He advised the assassin siblings to retreat into the protection of tanks.

[ Water Turbulence]

As the mage activated his spell a surge of water flooded the dungeon reaching every corner of it drowning every monsters along with its past.

[ Chain Lightning]

After Water Turbulence skill the mage activated Chain Lightning skill. The buzzing electric bolts launched itself from the mage's hand and ran wild on the floor or dungeon. The floor was wet so were the Monsters thus chain lightning didn't stop by killing a few monsters, it jumped from one target to another conducted by the water impurities and frying every monster along the way.

The adventurer party got an easy victory but they didn't enjoy it. This was their every day's task. Killing such level monsters was like playing with puddles for them. They were preety disappointed, they took the mission because recently adventurers reported suspicious activities from this dungeon. News were also circulated that recent adventurers disappeared inside the dungeon. If the guild master didn't recommend them this mission and if they would have known that this dungeon was this easy they would have not gone there.

The adventures marched towards the core of the dungeon to claim the boss monster's head. They were sure that the boss monster of such low level dungeon would have died by the powerful attacks of mage. Taking the boss monster head would mean that they have cleared the dungeon and their mission was cleared.

As the adventurer party came closer to the boss monster chamber travelling across the maze suddenly they heard some screeching sound. They were confused as every monsters should have lay dead yet there was this sound.

"Aaaaaa Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

The priestess screamed echoed through out the dungeon. As everyone paid attention to her, they saw that the priestess was being pulled towards a dark corner by a sticky net like substance.

The assassin girl sprang into action and rescued the priestess by cutting the sticky net with her razor sharp dagger. As everyone surrounded the priestess, who was shocked and was trying to hold her ground they felt sudden chill like they are being watched.

As everyone moved their eyes towards the door of the dungeon their eyes met thousands of eye literally staring at them. Staring as if a predator was watching it's prey.

As the mage increased his illuminating, brightening up spell, they saw millions of spider crawling above them. Some were as tiny as a finger nail and some were as big as a average human being.

"Wh...wh...What the hell are they?

No one said anything about these things." the assassin girl screamed in terror as she saw the terrific scene.

"Do you think we can deal with them?" As the tank asked the mage his question the archer interrupted them.

"N...No, fellow brother I don't think we can return from here alive because I am feeling a bone breaking terror which is shaking me to the core and it's not coming from this spiders sticking to the wall but sometimes else which is here, lurking in the shadows. It's not something we can fight and win." Before the archer could complete her sentence eight giant spiders appeared from the darkness. They were as big as an elephant. They were no normal giant spiders as their legs were decorated with mystical equipments. Some were even chewing on human meat.

"Brother we are surrounded. It's impossible to retreat through normal means. We are buying time while you activate your teleportation spell. The guild must know that a low level dungeon have somehow turned into S rank dungeon." Trying to gulp the situation the tank commands everyone to take defensive formation and protect the mage which was their only hope to escape.

But soon he loose all his sense when he hear a peculiar sound coming from behind the giant spiders. As everyone stairs towards the direction a strange creature emerges from the shadow following the giant spiders. A creature which they never saw before, only heard about in folktales. A creature whose lower body was made up of spider and upper body was made up of human woman. She was releasing a terrifying aura so powerful that when comparing the adventurers they were mere ants before her.

"My My.... It's seems that our guests are leaving without introducing themselves. I was hoping you all will stay here for a bit longer."

"You see my childrens here are starving and would be very happy if you get along with them"
