What is mutation?

At lunch time, she went to see Feng Lin in the canteen. But before they could even start anything, something bad was happening.

Feng Lin broke through the window and flew toward the massive beast that stood on the road. Not far away some soldiers were retreating. Claws were abvout to pierce Feng Lin's Chest when Chen Sha suddenly appeared and kicked the beast.

"Give him a bit more time" Feng Lin had already injected it with tranquilizer but it didn't seem to work at all.

The beast leapt up to attack. Chen Sha drew his sword and plunged the blade into the beast's neck.

Feng Lin covered her face with her hands in grief. Soldiers silently saluted. Without any words, Chen Sha turned and walked away past from Lorraine.

Lorraine was full of doubts and walked towards the corpse of the beast, wanting to ask Feng Lin.

Unexpectedly, Lorraine had just walked a few steps forward and Feng Lin jumped and stood in front of her. Her eyes were alert and terrified. Lorraine immediately stepped back in fright.

Feng Lin reacted and smiled stiffly and said in a concealed manner: "You have already seen that there has been an accident involving a beast hurting people. There are many things to be dealt with. You should go to lunch first and I will see you in our office later."

Lorraine said hurriedly, "Okay."

At this moment, she felt very clearly that although she was already a citizen of Odin by law, no one actually accepted her, even Feng Lin, the friendliest person.

She went back to the canteen in silence.

There's no one in the canteen anymore. In the empty hall, only the cleaning robot was cleaning around. The normally inaudible sound of the machine running is a bit harsh now.

Thinking of Chen Sha's cold eyes and Feng Lin's guarded expression, Lorraine felt cold. She subconsciously curled up on the chair, hugging herself.

Her favorite contact was only one name: Qian Xu.

Would Qian Xu also put the name 'Luo Xun' as his favorite contact? Could I really ask him such a sensitive question? Would he brush her off, terminated the call, or distanced her?

Qian Xu asked frankly: "You want to know the reason"

Lorraine face was full of horror, the beast that nearly killed the three soldiers and Feng Lin was a human!

The bottom of Lorraine's heart shivered. She can't help herself shivering.

Lorraine just understood not only Feng Lin's plea for 'give him some more time', but also Chen Sha's who choose to thrust the sword into the beast's body drenching it in cold blood.

Qian Xu asked: "Are you afraid?"

Lorraine was confused, nodding subconsciously.

Humans were a gregarious species. If a wholeheartedly trusted one, close friends, or lovers who sleep in the same bed suddenly become completely beyond recognition, was it possible to not be afraid?

Lorraine's nose was sour. She couldn't imagine that such a gentle Qian Xu would turn into a beast, violently hurting people.

Chen Sha's indifferent expression stabbing a dagger into the neck of the beast emerged from her mind. Can't help wondering if that iceberg will be scared too? Lorraine immediately felt that she was thinking too much.   

Qian Xu saw that she was lost in her thoughts and was sure that her emotions had calmed down. He smiled and pointed to Lorraine's plate: "You should eat, it's time for my treatment session already."   

Lorraine said sincerely: "Thank you!"   

"I just said a few words, what's there to thank me for?"

Lorraine smiled and did not say more. It's not just a few words, but she knew clearly that there's someone willing to take time to listen to her, answer her questions patiently, comfort and encourage her with consideration.   

In the vast crowd, she had a friend, and was not alone.

No matter how Zi Yan teased her, Lorraine paid no attention to, determined not to utter a word.
