54 Sulghorn's Christmas party

Cross smirked and picked her up as he said "Wanna see it again?" Luna nodded excitedly and Cross chuckled as he disappeared.

The next morning

The 'Chamber of Gossip's' second issue was released, dropping an even bigger bomb into the student populace. All the students on the front page complained and were so humiliated they cried, but the teachers were helpless. There was no proof, and the papers were anonymously published.

Every student they asked about it said that they never said those things to any interviewer, only their close friends.

A new mystery appeared at Hogwarts and rumors surfaced about a mysterious peeper, who was writing and publishing the entire Chamber of Gossip. The teachers tried to take away the newspapers but they just reappeared back in their places, plus almost all the students loved the newspaper, there was something new every day!

The gossip was too thrilling, some students even hoping the next article would be about them!

Time passed

Slughorn's Christmas party rolled around and Cross wore a nice muggle suit, inverting with Luna's. He wore a white suit with the only black part being his suit shirt, while Luna had a black dress with the only white part being a bow on her lower back, tied around her stomach with a white band.

Cross smiled and nodded as he walked around with Luna, whispering "Look at all these goofs.. Those twin girls.. did they come together?" Luna bit her lips and elbowed Cross as he added "You think they.." Luna covered his mouth and giggled as she said "This Gossip newspaper is getting out of hand.."

Cross licked her hand with an amused look in his eyes, Luna raised her brows and smiled. Cross kissed her hand and said "Alright, I get it." Luna took her hand away and replied "If you like licking-" Cross covered her mouth as Snape passed by.

Snape gave Cross a look and said "Tread carefully, Mr. Greengrass... Tread.. Carefully.." as he left, Luna licked Cross' hand and sucked on his finger. Cross' ears kept twitching and he was holding himself back, and losing I'm afraid.

Cross smiled and walked around the party, seeing Snape stopping Harry.

Cross walked by them and hearing Snape say "He'll be gone for the holidays.. Coming back only at the next term..." Harry replied "Dumbledore?!" Snape hummed and walked away.

Cross picked a drink from Neville, smiling as he said "Thanks Neville." Neville smiled and walked away, Cross drank from his drink and his mind turned.

Dumbledore was leaving? Where was he going? He walked to the window and whistled, a letter flew out of his bag and Cross wrote something down before sending two letters as an Owl landed in front of him and he said "One to House Greengrass, and the other to House Lovegood."

The Owl hooted and bit the letters before flying off.

Cross walked back to the party and saw Filtch bringing Draco inside saying "I've just discovered this boy lurking around the hallways. He claims to have been invited to your party, Professor Slughorn."

Cross chimed "I invited him." Filtch looked over and nodded before leaving, Draco smiled gratefully and Cross patted his shoulder whispering "Perhaps this will help you. Believe in what you're doing is right and you could never do wrong, hesitating on a decision and you will most likely make the wrong choice."

Cross smiled kindly and patted his shoulder again, adding "Think about what I told you 5 years ago Draco. Your magic will regress like this... Enjoy the party." before walking away, draining his cup of alcohol.

Draco looked at Cross' back with a complicated expression before taking a deep breath and walking away, Snape following him.

Cross took another drink and listened carefully to the string ear he placed on Draco's shoulder.

Luna came back and found Cross, sitting at a table drinking peacefully. She sat next to him and smiled wryly "Sorry it took so long.. You let out a lot this time." Cross smiled and held her hand as he said "One day you won't have to clean up after."

Luna's expression became loving and gentle as she leaned her head on his shoulder, smiling softly as she got lost in her imagination.

Cross drank from his cup as he heard Snape say "I swore to protect you. I made the Unbreakable Vow." Draco retorted "I don't need protection. I was chosen for this. Out of all others. Me! And I won't fail him!"

Snap retorted "You're afraid, Draco. You attempt to conceal it, but it's obvious. Let me assist you." Draco shouted "No! I was chosen! This is my moment!" before footsteps sounded.

Cross waved his hand and the ear dissolved into normal string as it latched onto Draco's clothes.

Cross sat in silence with Luna for the rest of the party before teleporting back to his room and pinning Luna to the bed with a big grin.

During the Holiday break

Cross went to each Common room and cleansed the entire room, taking out all the magic that shouldn't be there.

He went to Dumbledore's office and searched everywhere, finding nothing. He was trying to find any evidence or clues to Dumbledore's plans, but found nothing. He clicked his tongue and obliviated the hat before leaving.

He picked up Luna and teleported back home, spending Christmas at home with her. It was Christmas eve at his house and Christmas day at Luna's.

The break came and went.

One big thing was that Buckbeak was finished!

Cross and Luna were in the beast bag, looking at Buckbeak who had beautiful smooth feathers, but he looked completely different.

Buckbeak's feathers turned black and he grew an extra two pairs of wings that crackled with electricity as he flapped them. Buckbeak's head had a skull-like look to it now with golden feathers on his forehead like a crown.

Buckbeak flew over happily and nuzzled on Cross's face. Luna was amazed and said "Wow... He's so beautiful!" Cross smiled and stroked Buckbeak's neck, lifting his feathers and feeling the scaly skin underneath. He smiled and said "Excellent."

Luna looked at him and said "What did you do?" Cross smiled "I added Thestral hairs to him when he came back to Hogwarts. That's why it took so long for him to come out." He touched his forehead to the golden crown on Buckbeak's head and they both glowed.

Cross pulled back and smiled as he said "Good boy, Buckbeak." Buckbeak chirped/neighed happily as Cross heard a childish voice "Yaaaay, I love you Cross!" Cross laughed and scratched his neck saying "Get used to your new body and train with the others, okay?"

Buckbeak nodded happily and flew back to his mountain. wobbling slightly.

Cross whistled and all the beast showed up, Cross said "Take care of him, he is just a 'child' at the moment. I hope you all will not be mean." they all nodded before nuzzling on Luna and disappearing, only Carl looking at Cross with a smug grin as he sat on Luna's head.

Cross grumbled and slapped Carl so hard he made a sonic boom in the air, flying right back into his forest. Luna burst out laughing and Cross chuckled before leaving, going back to Hogwarts to start the next term.
