Struggles of Suresh (Part - 2)

Then I proceed to open their car's hood. The car was a white BMW X3. This was a new model, so I had no idea what was wrong with the car as they are quite reliable. The engine was new, "Sir was your car has been to servicing recently" I asked the man. He said " yes I regularly service the car, so it remains in top most condition". "But this service may have been a bad one to have your car break" I quipped. "Yeah it migt have been, so did you find anything wrong in there" be asked. I took a look at the whole engine but every thing was well oiled and belts were in correct places, so I was having hard time to identify the problem. Then it came to my mind that it can be a battery related one, so I proceeded to look at the battery pack. When I plugged out  the connection plug between battery and engine, it was coverd with black soot. " This was the problem sir, it is qute reckless of your service man to make such a rookie mistake" I said to the man as he was peering down the engine with me. "Thanks young man, you truly saved us from an inconvenient situation. So can you fix it or do we need any mechanic here" he praised and asked me. " Sir I can do this but I will need a piece of cloth to clean the soot" I said to the man. The man then went to the car and brought a cloth and gave it to me, "here you go man". I took the cloth and cleaned the plug and then inserted it in the battery, "ok sir the may be fixed now, please start the car to check". Then the man started the car and it started, he was very happy and his wife seemed relieved. Then the man asked "what is your name young man". "My name is Suresh sir" I replied to him. He came out of car and asked me, " what job am I doing". I was not sure should I tell the person I just met like 30 minutes ago but thought it would be better just to tell him truth, " my name is Suresh sir and I am an orphan, sir I just do odd jobs around the hotels like washing utensils and cleaning the rooms, floors and tables". After the man heard this his face became somber and the lady also had some pity in her eyes for me. The man said, "you seem very young I would guess your age to be around 18 to 20". "Yes sir I am currently around 18 years of age" I replied.

"Suresh, it seems you had a very tough life and you didn't revert to doing dirty things to make your livelihood, I will give you my card you can come to my office and we can discuss any job available that you can get with your skills" the old man said to me and handed out his card and few ₹500 notes to me. I took the card and money from him and didn't know what to say at that moment, my eyes suddenly started welling up and tears started falling as I didn't get this much money even after working for a week and the job offer was too much for me. The lady came out of car and said to me, "why are you crying son, did my husband said something bad to you". "No mam it is just that this much of kindness was never shown to me" I said tearily. The lady came near me and caressed my head, it felt good almost like getting my fist gift. The the old man said that it was getting late as sun was setting down and they had to go. "When you come to office show them the card then someone will take you to my chamber". "Thankyou sir I will come to your office tomorrow" I said to him. Then they left and I was walking down the road soaking what had just happened. Then I realised that I still had not looked at the card that was given and took out the card then properly looked at it, it was a premium business card it was black with gold accents and the name written in golden letters shoked me. It was written as Mahesh Mittal, one of the biggest car dealers and car rental business of Mumbai's owner. It seemed to me like at last my perseverance had been awarded wit6 the opportunity that I was dreaming of and it was just like the perfect coincidence that made it happen.
