The Fear of God

Ray wakes up earlier than the others, at around 5 AM as he goes to find Leon. Who as always, is up early working on construction.

"Leon, How much longer until this building is ready?" Ray asks.

"Lord Kaine! It should be ready in about a month or so at the current rate." Leon responds.

"Hm, Very well. I will be going into town to go forge some more weaponry. Let the others know this. See you soon." Ray says.

[Time Skip!]

Ray warps down, heading to the city. He eventually finds the previous smithery he used.

Ray walks in and is greeted by Kraun, who allows him to use the forge.

After around 10 hours of forging, Ray has made 4 silver swords, as well as 2 silver axes.

'Damn that is good!' Ray is shocked by this amazing effect. As he begins to pack up his stuff.

As he is heading home, he stops by the school to see Victoria after her class.

"Hey Victoria, have you talked to Elyra yet?" Ray asks.

"Hi, and yes she has agreed to stop by your cliff later…" She mutters with a nervous look in her eye while covering her face.

"Are you okay?" Ray asks.

"Y-yeah…" She says.

"Please don't lie to me, what happened?" Ray presses.

"When I talked to Elyra, she got angry that I didn't listen to her, and she hit me. I will be fine though." Victoria smiles.

"Alright, for your benefit, don't come along, I want to talk to her… Privately." Ray says, trying to remain calm as he walks off.

"Be careful! She is strong… Don't do anything dangerous." Victoria calls out.

As Ray walks into the clearing, it is almost immediately apparent that he is angry.

"Lord, what is wrong?" Seirai asks nervously

"A mortal seeks to ruin one of my relationships, I will be instructing them as to why they shouldn't meddle in my affairs." Ray says. Then Ray shouts in a booming voice, "Everyone, present yourselves!"

Leon, Lily, Effran, and Modri rush out when they hear Ray shout.

Ray extends his hand and creates a plethora of resources, ready to be used for construction.

"We don't have long, so everyone, including myself, will be working to finish the guild hall now." Ray says.

With no complaints, everyone gets to work, using a plethora of magic to complete it as quickly as possible, they get the outside completed, as well as the first floor and an office.

Ray creates all of the furniture they require. Just in time for him to get clean, creating a suit to wear for himself and the others.

"Now, before she shows up, I would like to warn you all, this person has annoyed me greatly. I may show more of my divine power then you are all ready to experience. After you greet her, leave for a bit, then I will come find you." Ray tells the others.

They remain silent, not wanting to question him.

After another 15 minutes of waiting, a rather annoyed looking Elyra walks up.

"Ugh, why would he choose to live out here.. Who are they?" She says as she notices the twins and the family waiting there.

"Just do as Lord Kaine says…" Leon whispers quietly.

"Hello Ma'am! Lord Kaine is waiting for you in the building over there." Modri says in a proper tone.

"Hahahaha! Does your pathetic 'Lord' wish to impress me with this display?!" Elyra laughs as she heads off to the building. 'They even dared to build themselves a putrid church?!' she thinks as she notices the church nearby.

As soon as she enters, the others leave…

Ray sits calmly in his office chair, which looks more like a throne.

"Hello Elyra, please take a seat." Ray says in a stern voice.

"How pathetic of you. To prostrate yourself as a noble in front of an actual one?!" She shouts in annoyance as she walks over swinging her hand to slap him.

[Time Shell!]

Her hand freezes completely, stopped with no ability to move. As Ray stands up, he says in a low but commanding voice.

"Oh? You think they call me lord due to me wishing to be a pompous noble? Did you see that church out there? That is not for one of your high and mighty Primus, that is for me. They call me Lord because I am a God."

[Territorial Deity Activated!]

Elyra flinches as she sees the anger in Ray's eyes.

"You have chosen to meddle in affairs that in no way affect you. You have annoyed me, and even chose to strike my first friend in this world. You have the next minute to plead your case." Ray commands.

"I-i didn't know you were a God if i ha-" She begins to say.

"Oh? Your excuse for your vile behavior is you weren't aware that I was above you? You shouldn't have to know where you place in the hierarchy to act with decency." Ray interrupts.

"You're right… But please forgive me! I was instructed to by Lord Fireleaf!" She pleads.

"Then tell your lord that you quit, unless you want to gamble on who is stronger, a mortal with money and a lie of a status that does nothing more than stroke his ego. Or me, a deity with limited patience?" Ray asks.

Without response, Elyra nods her head and dashes out, Ray keeps Territorial Deity active until she fully leaves his territory.

As the others return, they say nothing and get back to work.

"How dare you quit! I brought you prosperity! This is how you return my grace?!" Lord Fireleaf shouts.

"I-i am sorry sir… But I have angered someone far too powerful, I must leave…" Elyra says as she sprints out.

'Someone powerful? Who in this city is strong enough for her to be more afraid of them than me? Lord Alfuris? No, he doesn't get involved with sponsors… Then the only one left is Lord Shdowdance.' Lord Fireleaf concludes.

"Axelby, ready yourself. Soon we will have to have a talk with Lord Shadowdance. It appears his ego may have gotten the better of him."
