A God is Born

"So, you'll be getting back into the fight, or are you debating something?" Deriose asks. He's not wrong, I'm debating on what plan I should go with. I can try to fool my sister and Father, earn their trust and backstab them, or I could go straight into battle, but that would put the Goddess at risk. That plan requires me to wound both the Goddess and Nada with the last of the Goddess' power I have. Using a holy lance will lend me a chance to talk to the Goddess into allowing me to use what power she has left.

I sigh and look into the portal. The battle is raging with the Goddess and Nada dueling above the battlefield. The Goddess is heavily bleeding from wounds covering her body, but Nada isn't unscathed. Her left eye is completely closed with blood trickling from the side of it. Her neck and face have been clawed deeply, but the wounds are already beginning to heal. Slowly but surely, Nada will regain her strength while the Goddess, already weakened, won't be recovering as fast.

With the last of the Goddess' power, I ready a lance and aim it down at the battlefield. I have to wait until they clash once more, but they seem to be biding their time. I turn my attention to the battle raging below. It seems that humans and Elven reinforcements had arrived and are now holding the Chaos army for now. I don't know how long they can keep up the defence. Please, hold on until I get back. I won't let anyone else die!

The opportune time to attack finally arrived. The Goddess and Nada clashed. "Holy Lance!" I throw the holy attack through the portal and dive after it. The painful roars of the Goddess and Nada pierces the air. The lance continues to the ground and into the center of the Chaos army. The explosion that follows kills thousands more and leaves a crater in the center of the battlefield.

I land between the two dragons. Nada's entire left arm had been obliterated and she's reverting to her human form. "Came back to save your world? Or did you just get revenge for hurting you?" She chuckles as her arm slowly heals, "You hurt your precious Goddess you spoke so highly of. What's your plan now?"

I say nothing and walk over to the Goddess. The blue and white dragon's sides slowly rise as her blood soaks the ground around her, "Rias...why?"

"To save this world, of course." I unsheathe Artenagon and let my arm dangle at my side. I don't want to do this, but it's the only way, "Lend me your strength once more and let's end this." I lean in closer, "Act like I killed you." The Goddess' eyes snap open as she realizes my plan and then closes her eyes as to accept her fate. I stab the ground as close as I could next to her neck. She roars out in pain as her form materializes back into the Ice Crystal. I stand back up as the pendant dissolves into my body.

"Interesting." Nada smiles, "To think you'd betray your people after all this time. Come sister, you belong with us."

"I belong to no one." I turn around as my human form takes over the Chaos. "I will take you and Father down and return this world to its former glory!"

"It seems that you've chosen the wrong path." She growls and tries to change back into a dragon, but to no avail, "Why can't-"

"That attack killed your inner dragon." I walk towards her, "Think you can still win, sister." White and blue wings sprout from my back, "If you won't attack me, then allow me to start!"

I fly towards her and swing my blade. She blocks the golden sword with a defense spell and throws me back. I glide to a stop as pitch black wings sprout from Nada's back. She's going to use whatever she can to win.

"You've unlocked the use of your Chaos powers, yet you refuse to use them." Nada chuckles, "The most powerful form of energy and you won't use it. You must be an idiot to think you can win!"

"You're corrupted and losing your mind." I say calmly, "When one's mind is erratic, they've already lost."

"We'll see about that." Her glare is ice cold. She's showing no emotions now. She doesn't know it, but her mind is clouded by her powers. She's been consumed by it and wants nothing but destruction. That's not how a God should be. We clash, but only to bounce off each other. She's wielding a sword of Chaos to counter my sword. She's scared of her own weakness and she's desperately trying to cover that weakness. She may have deflected my attack, but I'm testing her since I don't know what she can do yet. She's yet to use any powerful spells...unless...

I close my eyes only to sense the area around us is completely filled with invisible magic circles. She's using magic to watch my every move and to keep me here. She doesn't want me running away from this fight, yet she can move as freely as ever. I narrow my eyes, Good, I'm one step closer to winning. Ready to begin, sister?

***Myriani***

The battlefield is light alight with a holy light from above. The attack didn't come from the Goddess nor Nada. The fight above had seemingly stopped as the attack pierced through both of them as it rocketed towards the ground. There's an explosion and then a ringing noise as a fireball erupts from the center of the Chaos army. The shockwave sends everyone and everything flying backwards. I feel my back hit the city walls and a blackness covers my eyes.

I blink open my eyes to see Eliose trying to wake me. I can't hear anything but a ringing noise as I stare out into the dust and smoke covered battlefield. I crawl to my knees and try to stand, but to no avail. Until this ringing noise goes away, I've no balance. Whoever had attacked, weakened both sides. Across the chasm, is a crater large enough to dwarf a small city. The ensuing shockwave cracked and even shattered the surrounding mountains. The once beautiful peaks were reduced to jagged knife-like rocks.

Slowly, I'm able to stand, but I have to hold onto Eliose for support. A glowing white light appears from the sky and lands in front of Nada. Rias. She had made it back and is using whatever she can to stay Rias. She isn't Relaria nor does she belong to anyone. She's chosen the path with the most resistance and she isn't stopping until her opponents are defeated. She walks over to the Goddess and mutters something to her before sending Artenagon into the dragon's head. Rias absorbs the Goddess' powers and turns to Nada.

They're having an aura showdown before they fight. Rias' bright blue and Nada's pitch black aura's are nearly even despite how weakened the Goddess was. Only the Elves can sense and see others auras. It's a spectacular sight to behold as two warriors can get a sense of each other before fighting, but this isn't the case. They're measuring each others abilities and feelings. Rias makes the first move, swinging Artenagon, only to bounce off of Nada. A fight between God's isn't to be taken lightly and with one in the mortal world, only destruction and death will be its result.

The two take to the skies as the fight rages. They're moving too fast for even Elven eyes to keep track of. I turn my attention to those who are able to stand and fight. Most are uninjured or have mild injuries from the explosion, but we're all disoriented and now isn't the time to recover. The Chaos army may have taken the brunt of the attack, but it almost seems as if their numbers haven't declined at all. A wall of demons begins to make its way towards us. We may have to retreat to the inner walls.

"Eliose!" Ris shouts towards us, "I'm sorry, but I can no longer consider myself a part of our Queens legion."

"What do you mean?" Eliose questions, but I know what he's talking about. We Elves can become stronger by unleashing forbidden magic, but it comes at the price of death or banishment from the Elven world. They would no longer be a part of our world, "Please Ris, don't do this!"

Four more Elves take their place beside the young commander. Each one, a personal guard from my home. With their dying breaths, they'll protect their Queen to the grave. I push Eliose off of me and pick up an Elven sword off the ground and walk up to the five. "Are you sure about this? Once you do this, there's no guaranteeing you'll make it out alive."

"If it's to give our friends more time to recover, then we'll do this." Ris says calmly. The others nod slowly. They've chosen to sacrifice themselves in order for us to ready ourselves, "It's been an honor in serving my Queen and observing the birth of the Light of Chaos." He's right, even though she knows about her past, Rias has chosen to fight her own family to save the world she grew up in. As imperfect as it is, it's perfect for those living in it. Rias will see to it that Chaos' bad name erased with her own ambitions. Whether she wants to or not, she will have to use her Chaos powers to defeat her sister.

"Very well." I close my eyes reciting the spell to release those in front of me, "From the God's domain to the depths of the earth, I release thee from thine services. Return to me and you shall be cut down." The seal materializes in front of me as I open my eyes. I slash the air, slicing the seal in half. The spell dissipates floating into the darkening sky.

"Thank you my Queen." Ris whispers to me. He turns to the others giving them a slight nod. They cannot use our weaponry no more, they must rely on their hands and their hearts to lead them in this fight. They turn and give one more bow before sprinting ahead towards the black mass of demons.

"Thank you." I smile and turn back towards Eliose. He's gathering those who are able to fight for one last stand. Someone crashes in between us knocking me back down. The person lifts herself out of the hole that was made in the ground. Breathing heavily and slowly recovering her wounds, is Rias. She looks over, gives a rugged smile and flies back to the fight. She can win this, I know she can!
