Preparing for Battle

Gathering around the golden-colored hall, the beautiful guardian of the marshes continues to speak after hearing Alex's opinion on the matter of the hatred of the other creatures, living in the marshland.

"Alex was right. When the queen bee capitalized the land with her barbaric acts, the other stapus were forced to leave and evacuate the lands that were originally theirs, making the queen bee's hive the only kingdom in the South. Although their methods of nurturing the lands were surprisingly good, their selfishness was a different matter." Rabi continued.

Alex looked at Kent and she seemed doing well. Alex did not just say it because it would make Kent feel better, but he said it for everyone to know that even if they didn't know that the queen was part of something big, they still have taken the correct measure, to survive.

Alex spoke slowly, "Can we talk about this to them? A preside a treaty?"

Rabi sighed, "That is the best turning point of this crisis. However, I don't really recommend that. Decades of hatred can't be dealt with something like making friends. They are preparing for a bloodbath. You will die if you expect that to happen so easily." Rabi added, worried.

"I see. So, we have no choice but to fight?" Alex muttered.

Rabi nodded. "I hope you win this fight. I hope that it will not turn out the way we all expected it to be."

Alex sighed. He can't believe they're going to be fighting again, as a class. However, this doesn't mean they can't win this. They were prepared for worst case scenarios, and this is one of them. They trained for so long, endured so many hardships. Even endured Matt and Jay's harsh teaching just to make them feel stronger, and not just feel but also do stronger things. Alex looked at the faces of his classmates, unlike the other time, everyone was not looking pale, some are confident and some are still anxious.

Kent suddenly transformed into her fully-armored queen bee transformation as she flew swiftly above with her lance in her right hand. Kent spoke majestically above everyone, "Another crisis approaching. We have no choice but to fight! Let's face this and prepare ourselves to do the worst. However, at the end of the day, let us all emerge victorious and continue to live this life. I will not allow any deaths coming from our side!" Kent cried, and everyone started to feel determined, encouraged, and stronger than any of them felt before.

Is this the charisma of a queen? Rulers always have that charisma when they speak, they ought to be great speakers as they command their armies to do the job for the people. And Kent, she seemed to become a queen not just in powers but as an individual, as Kent.

Alex smiled while he also prepared himself to defend their home – the hive.

"I wouldn't let anyone tarnish my beautiful garden!" Lynne shouted, everyone laughed. "Then I guess, we just win if Lynne berserk in the middle of the battle." Lyka said where they all laughed.

Alex can't believe they still manages to laugh before facing this future battle. But he doesn't need to worry about that, for he knows everyone was anxious and worried, deep inside but still manages to fight for their lives, and that's one thing that any of us should respect.

"What's the plan?" Jimmy interrupted. Everyone stopped celebrating, encouraging themselves as they set out the plan.

"I want everyone to put every bit of your knowledge on this. If you have any suggestions please speak out. This is a battle that will determine how strong and adaptive we become. Let's defend our home!" Kent said, in a strong voice as they continued to collect suggestions for a perfect plan.

Minutes have passed since they gathered themselves the plan to face the army towards them. The enemies' numbers were too many for them to face head on, that's why they need to make use of their wits and newly acquired skills to make use of their surroundings.

Everyone was carried out in the land where the battle will happen, it was afternoon when it happened. "If the enemy will be here approximately 4 hour earlier, then we have at least 3 hours to prepare. The battle will begin at around 5pm since we took our lunch past 12. Luckily, time passes here like in the old world we lived in. making use of the sun's movement was easy since we already took classes about it in our history and art class." Alex explained.

"Gloyd can you carry me around the hive?" Alex said where Gloyd nodded and changed into his bird form. His black wings encaptures his whole body, where he then spread it and brought Alex above and around the hive.

The others were given spikes, from jay who just transformed into his spiky form. Six of the guard bees were stationed all around the hive to keep watch while everyone does their work. The class were separated into four giving each a captain in command. They predicted that the monsters will attack not too far from the back since the hive faces the South, and if enemies came from the North, the monsters should arrive at the back of the hive. However, just to prepare for sudden appearances, they all guarded all four directions. So, they could report immediately where the enemies appear and send troops accordingly.

Gloyd dropped Alex at the back of the hive, where he extended his hand on the ground. The earth followed the turtle's command as a gigantic wall made of soil emerged from the bottom of the earth and rose to the surface. Gloyd was awestruck of the display of newly acquired power of his friend, Alex. "What a shower." Gloyd joked as he hissed towards his friend. Alex gave out chuckle, "I'm just doing what I can. Your wings are more wonderful than this." Alex said. Gloyd's expression changed, as he carried Alex away, "Well, of course. I couldn't even ask for more." Gloyd said happily.

The 20 feet wall was perfect for their defense, but Alex knew he can do better. He molded the top of the earth wall into a pathway and extended another of what looked like a tower. "if we have path in here, we can guard the hive, while maintaining a safe position." Alex said. "Gloyd nodded as he agrees.

"The guardbees should be stationed primarily in the towers and the others on the pathway above the wall. Since the guard bees have much better eyesight than most of us." Alex added. "That's right." Said Gloyd. "So, do you want this to go around the hive?" Gloyd asked.

Alex nodded, "Yes."

Both Alex and Gloyd created a 20-feet wall around the hive, with towers and pathways along with it. Alex also created a staircase at the back of the walls so everyone could come down in convenience and not let the guard bees do the job for them. Everyone was amazed of Alex's showcase of power. Their hopes of becoming victorious have skyrocketed as they witness their home's fortification.

After encircling the whole enormous bee hive with a wall made from the earth. Alex moved outside to create a pit outside the walls. The seem endless pit was scary even when looking at it, for it possess a seemingly dark endless void below as what the others have witnessed walking and preparing for an attack above the earth wall.

Belle put weak threads above the pit that can be destroyed, with even the slightest walk and covered it with another level of dirt.

Gloyd asked Alex as they continue to watch their plan being prepared and built. "If you can command the earth conveniently, why can't you just suck all of them at once when they come here?"

Alex sighed, "Relying too much on your power is the work of an idiot. Moments like these, we should prepare beforehand and expect all the possible cases that can harm us extremely. And I can't just suck all of them at once, you saw me how time-consuming building these walls were. And trying to suck an army is impossible. We only have 20 minutes till the supposed battle will happen. I hope we survive this, Gloyd? Do the best you can to protect our classmates. We were given the most weight to be useful in battle since we were the ones who acquired these powers first." Alex said.

Gloyd knew the gravity of this task, "Of course. I will." Gloyd ensured.

The harmful rays of the sun, weakens as the night approaches slowly. Giving them just the enough light to see, since it was just about to be at 5pm. But if night came and this battle still continues, they do not have a choice but to flee this place, since they do not have enough illumination on the battlefield. Insects rely on antennae and their own mode of communication, giving them a clear view of the battle's status even in the dark. But humans, aren't the same, humans can see in the dark but not as clearly as the creatures who are here. There's no worrying about Kent and the others who acquired powers, but majority of his classmates weren't capable of that thus only rely on the luminance the sun has given them. Alex flooded with thoughts.

Matt, Christian, Jessie and Ivan were chosen to be commanders of the four teams who were purposely separated to guard the four directions around the hive. The humans who acquired powers were chosen to be on the frontline and respond to any teams who are in need of future backups, depending on the outcome of the battle.

Kent's powers allow her to materialize her lance and her crossbow on each hand. But surprisingly, only the crossbows can be held by others, making the lance the primary weapon of the queen bee that can't be wielded by any.

The crossbows were given to each of them, as well as a spike, coming from, Jay when engaging in a close combat.

The ground trembled as an army on monsters came running from the north, now visible to the eye.

"They're here!" Kent shouted, while she flies in the front.

Gloyd did a warning shriek to inform everyone who can't see the back that the enemies were coming now. Everyone readied their weapons as the enemies approached.

The beating drums of heart has occupied all the senses of their bodies, giving them the nervousness that they have never experienced before. The urge to run away has been considered by many, but the willingness to fight for their lives has never been a doubt.
