Year 13

Sasha sat on a bench in the park, tears streaming down her face. She had just received the news that her mother had passed away and she was struggling to process it. She felt so lost and alone in the world. She couldn't bear the thought of facing the next few days and weeks without her mother by her side.

That's when she remembered her friend Karito. She had always found comfort in his wise words and calm demeanor. Without thinking, she picked up her phone and called him.

(Karito) Answered on the first ring "Sasha, are you okay?" he asked, sensing the distress in her voice.

(Sasha) "No," She whispered "My mother died and I don't know what to do."

(Karito) "I'll be there in ten minutes," He promised

True to his word, Karito arrived ten minutes later. He found Sasha sitting on the bench, her face buried in her hands. He sat down next to her and wrapped an arm around her, offering comfort in his embrace.

For a while, they sat in silence. Sasha cried until there were no more tears left to shed. Then, she looked up at Karito and said...

(Sasha) "I don't understand why this happened. Why did she have to leave me so soon?"

(Karito) He looked into her eyes, his own filled with empathy "Sasha, life is a journey that we all must take. Sometimes, that journey takes us away from those we love. It's a painful reality, but it's also a reminder to cherish every moment we have with our loved ones. Your mother will always live on in your memories and the love you shared will never die."

(Sasha) She nodded, taking comfort in Karito's words "Thank you," She whispered "I needed to hear that."

(Karito) "Anytime, Sasha," He said, giving her a comforting squeeze "I'm here for you, no matter what."

They sat in silence for a while longer, until Sasha finally felt ready to stand up and face the world again. She stood up and wiped away the last of her tears.

(Sasha) "I'm ready," she said, determination in her voice.

(Karito) He smiled at her, proud of the strength he saw in her "You're going to be okay," he said "I believe in you."

(Sasha) She smiled back at him, grateful for his support "Thank you, Karito," she said "I couldn't have made it through this without you."

Sasha leaned over and gave Karito a hug, feeling grateful for his unwavering support. She knew that she would never forget this day and that she would always be able to count on Karito whenever she needed a shoulder to lean on.

Year 14

You thought you would be free from all the horrors of your past, but how can you forget the blood on your hands from the innocent lives you took? The piercing screams of those you failed to protect, the sight of blood and entrails staining the ground as you stood helplessly by. How can you call yourself a savior when all they do is scream and accuse, never once showing gratitude for your attempts to protect them?

The memories of the dark dungeon that Ultron imprisoned you in still haunt you. Time seemed to stand still in that tiny, suffocating space. Did days pass, or were they weeks, months, years? You remember the feeling of your lungs collapsing again and again, the toll it took on your mental and emotional well-being. The feeling of being unable to catch your breath, your rapid heartbeat, the sweat that drenched your skin, and the blood you coughed up. The tension pneumothorax, the pressure building in your chest as air trapped in your lungs, crushing your heart. The pain was unbearable, a constant reminder of the atrocities you've committed. How can you ever escape the torment of your own mind?

The darkness closes in, trapping you in its suffocating embrace. You try to stretch out your arms, but they hit solid walls on either side. The air is hot and stale, and with each breath, you feel like you're not getting enough oxygen. Your chest tightens, and your heart races as panic sets in. You try to scream, but the sound is muffled by the weight of the earth above you. You can feel the pressure of the dirt, like a heavy blanket smothering you, making it hard to breathe. The walls seem to be closing in, shrinking the already cramped space. You struggle to keep your breathing under control, but the fear is overwhelming. You're trapped, and there's no escape.

So many sins... so many... just how much is enough? Will it ever be enough?

I didn't think so.

Kill...

KILL...

KILL!

KILL THEM ALL!!!

Gasp!

(Karito) Heavy breathing "Fuck... I... thought I had..." Wipes his sweat from his forehead "Gotten... past that... fuck.... and I didn't even hear the entire list... of the shit I've done..."

Year 15

(Secretary) "My lord, it's been two years since we've received any updates on the Guardian. Do you believe he still resides within this realm?"

(Dark Norman Osborn) "I'm certain of it. That self-righteous organization has likely taken him captive."

(Secretary) "What course of action should we take, sir?"

(Dark Norman Osborn) "For now, we do nothing. We may not be able to locate him, but he also cannot find us. The Guardian may be cunning, but we have the element of surprise on our side."

(Secretary) "Sir, I must remind you that this Guardian has recently defeated six Darks single-handedly, and even faced an army of symbiotes and emerged victorious."

(Dark Norman Osborn) "I am aware. The news of his exploits has spread throughout the Dark dimension like wildfire. This Guardian has grown too powerful, too quickly, for our comfort."

(Secretary) "Could it be that the Guardian's organization is becoming desperate?"

(Dark Norman Osborn) "Most certainly. After the War of Gods an eternity ago, most Guardians and Darks were eradicated, leaving only a few survivors. The original Guardian sacrificed himself in hopes that a new Guardian would arise to rebuild the organization, but as time passed, the mindsets of the surviving Guardians broke and they eventually gathered to discuss their options. They were too afraid to continue their duties and instead chose to abduct someone from the real world to become their new Guardian. These Guardians have become monsters in their desperation."

(Secretary) "So, they ruined the life of an innocent person just because they were too frightened to do their own job?"

(Dark Norman Osborn) "That's precisely it. They would rather sacrifice someone than risk their own lives."

(Secretary) "They are even more loathsome than we are."

(Dark Norman Osborn) "Indeed. The methods they employed to extract a person's mind from reality and trap it within the realm of fiction... it's reprehensible. And I fear that it will only get worse once the Guardian is finally free from their grasp."

Year 16

The Unification War had been raging for months, with no end in sight. Night City was torn apart by the conflict, with citizens divided between those who supported the Free States and those who supported the NUSA. People lived in fear every day, wondering when the fighting would reach their doorsteps.

???, a mysterious lone wolf who had been living on the outskirts of Night City, had been paying close attention to the events unfolding around him. He was a man of few words and kept to himself, but he had a heart of gold and a strong sense of justice.

One day, as ??? was wandering through the city, he stumbled upon a large group of soldiers from both sides, poised to engage in a brutal battle that would surely lead to the destruction of the city. He knew that he had to act fast, and he sprang into action.

He approached the soldiers, and with a flick of his wrist, he unsheathed his "Swords". The soldiers, taken aback by the sudden appearance of this stranger, stopped in their tracks and watched as he strode confidently toward them.

??? raised his sword high and spoke in a clear, strong voice. "I will not stand by and watch as this city is destroyed. I will not allow any more innocent people to be caught in the crossfire. The fighting ends here and now."

The soldiers, intimidated by ??? confidence and the strength in his voice, reluctantly put down their weapons. ??? then turned his attention to the leaders of both sides, who had been observing the scene from a safe distance. He approached them and demanded that they come to a peace agreement, and to everyone's surprise, they agreed.

The news of the peace agreement quickly spread throughout Night City, and people took to the streets to celebrate. No one knew who the mysterious man was who had brought an end to the conflict, but they knew that he was a hero. They named him the "Night City Saviour" and celebrated his bravery and the end of the war.

From that day on, ??? disappeared back into the shadows, never to be seen or heard from again. But his legend lived on, inspiring generations of people in Night City and beyond.

Year 17

(David) "Karito, teach me how to hack!"

(Karito) "Sure, let me just finish flipping these pancakes first. What do you want to hack?"

(David) "Everything! I want to be the next Netrunner legend."

(Karito) "Whoa, slow down there little bro. Hacking is like playing a game of chess, you can't just jump in without a strategy."

(David) "Well, teach me the strategy then!"

(Karito) "Okay, but first you need to learn how to make a proper pancake." Hands David the spatula.

(David) "What does that have to do with hacking?"

(Karito) "Everything! Making pancakes requires precision and patience, just like hacking. You need to know the right ingredients and how to mix them perfectly."

(David) "I don't think I have the patience for this."

(Karito) "Well then, you better start practicing. Now flip that pancake before it burns."

(David) "I don't want to flip pancakes, I want to learn how to hack!"

(Karito) "And you will, but first you need to master the art of flipping pancakes." Winks "Besides, what's the rush? The Net's not going anywhere."

(David) "Fine, but if this doesn't lead to hacking, I'm never making pancakes again."

(Karito) "Deal. Now let's get started on that perfect flip."

The two brothers continue to argue and joke as they make pancakes and eventually Karito teaches David the basics of hacking, but not before making him flip several batches of perfectly golden brown pancakes.

(Karito) Starts eating the pancakes he forcefully made David do because he got lazy "David, if you want to learn how to hack? You should probably start with your own brain, it's definitely in need of a software update."

(David) "Hey, that's not funny."

(Karito) "Oh, I beg to differ. The way you're struggling to keep up with me is hilarious."

(David) "I'll show you, I'll learn how to hack and I'll be just as good as you."

(Karito) "You sure about that, little bro? Hacking isn't just about pressing buttons, it's about creativity and cunning. I'm not sure you have what it takes."

(David) "I'll show you, I'm not as dumb as you think I am."

(Karito) "I wouldn't go that far. You're not dumb, you're just... basic. A basic cyberpunk."

(David) "Screw you, Karito!"

(Karito) "Aw, don't be like that. I'm just messing with you. I have faith in your abilities. But don't say I didn't warn you when you crash and burn."

(David) "I won't. I'll prove you wrong and become the greatest hacker in Night City."

(Karito) "Well, good luck with that. Just don't forget to invite me to your award ceremony."

(David) "Ha, I will. And I'll be sure to mention your name in my acceptance speech."

(Karito) "Sounds like a plan, bro. Let's keep going shall we?"

Year 18

The sun was shining bright on the graduation day of Karito, and he felt proud to be one of the few who had made it to this day. The ceremony began and Karito was called to the stage to receive his diploma and awards.

As he approached the stage, he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotions. He had given a good amount of effort for the moment, and now he was finally here, at the top of his school, with perfect grades and winning all of the awards.

The crowd cheered as Karito received his diploma and was presented with awards for Best Overall Student, Highest GPA, and Most Valuable Contributor to the School Community.

He felt grateful for his teachers and classmates who had helped him along the way. He also felt proud of himself for all that he had accomplished.

(Karito) Mentally "GG boys, that was very easy."

Later that evening, Karito, his mother Gloria, and his little brother David went to a fancy restaurant to celebrate his graduation. The restaurant was decorated with balloons and banners, and a table was reserved just for them.

As they sat down, David couldn't help but express how proud he was of his big brother.

(David) "I can't believe you graduated with perfect grades and won all of the awards, Karito. You're amazing!"

Gloria also expressed her pride.

(Gloria) "I'm so proud of you, my son. You have worked so hard and now you are reaping the rewards."

Karito felt a sense of satisfaction as he looked around the table at his loved ones.

(Karito) "I couldn't have done it without your support, Mom and David. Thank you for always being there for me."

The waiter came over and took their orders, and soon their meal was served. They laughed and shared stories as they enjoyed the celebration dinner, feeling grateful for each other's company.

Year 19

Karito was sleeping on his bed, just being lazy as he had no orders for any cybernetics at the moment. As the day goes by he received a phone call. He grunts in an effort to sit on his bed and looks forward to seeing a holographic screen. Once he looks at the caller he sees that it's Sasha Yakovleva. He smiles and picks up the call.

(Karito) "Hey, Sasha what's up? It's been a while."

(Sasha) "Hey, cutie. It's been a while, hasn't it? I've been busy sorry~. Did you miss me?" Giggles

(Karito) "I did miss you, what I didn't miss is your teasing."

(Sasha) "Aw come on~. You love it. Pluss I'm special in your case." Giggles

(Karito) "You're lucky I like you. Anyways, what's up?"

(Sasha) "Hmm... well, we have been friends for a while..."

(Karito) "Uh huh?"

(Sasha) "And I was wondering..."

(Karito) "Yeah?"

(Sasha) "Would you like to go on a date with me?"

(Karito) "..."

(Sasha) "Karito?"

(Karito) "Sorry I think I didn't hear you correctly. My mind must be playing games with me."

(Sasha) "Don't be a dumbass! I'm asking you out on a date!"

(Karito) Mutes his call

(Sasha) "Oh god is he celebrating?" Giggles

(Karito) Unmutes "Hold on, wait a minute. Is this a joke?"

(Sasha) "Why would it be a joke?"

(Karito) "I don't know, I just never thought you'd actually ask me out."

(Sasha) "Well, I did. So what do you say?"

(Karito) "I'm definitely down, but I have one condition."

(Sasha) "And what's that?"

(Karito) "You have to promise not to hack into my brain and steal all my secrets."

(Sasha) "Ha! You know me too well. Alright, I promise not to hack you... this time."

(Karito) "Good, because I've got some valuable intel in there. Top secret, you know."

(Sasha) "Oh, I can't wait to see what kind of intel you have. But for now, I'll settle for a date."

(Karito) "Sounds good. I'll bring my A-game."

(Sasha) "I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Karito. See you at Gomorrah at 8 PM."

(Karito) "See you there. And Sasha?"

(Sasha) "Yeah?"

(Karito) "Bring your hacking skills, I might just need them."

(Sasha) "Ha! Deal. See you later, Karito."

The night arrived and Karito dressed up in a casual outfit, a black T-shirt and jeans. He made his way to the Gomorrah Nightclub, where he was supposed to meet Sasha. The club was known for its high-tech dance floor, holographic displays, and a diverse range of cyborgs and many kinds of people with different enhancements.

As Karito entered the club, he scanned the crowded dance floor and finally saw Sasha sitting on a bar stool, sipping on a neon blue drink. She spots him and makes his way over to him. He hasn't seen her in a very long time and was surprised by her new look and was mesmerized by it.

(Karito) "Hey, Sasha. You look beautiful."

(Sasha) "Hey, cutie. You look handsome too."

(Karito) "Thanks. So, what's the plan for tonight?"

(Sasha) "Well, I thought we could dance, drink, and have fun."

(Karito) "Sounds good to me."

They ordered drinks and made their way to the dance floor, where they danced to the fast-paced, electronic beats. They talked and laughed, enjoying each other's company. Sasha was a great dancer, her movements were graceful and fluid, like a net runner's.

(Sasha) "You know, I've been meaning to ask you something."

(Karito) "Sure, what is it?"

(Sasha) "How did you get into cybernetics engineering?"

(Karito) "Well, I've always been fascinated with technology and how it can enhance a person's life. I started tinkering with machines when I was a kid and eventually, it led me to cybernetics."

(Sasha) "That's cool. I'm a net runner myself. I love the freedom and thrill of exploring the virtual world."

(Karito) "I can understand that. The virtual world is always changing and offers endless possibilities."

They continued talking and laughing, completely immersed in their conversation. They both were having a great time, and the chemistry between them was undeniable. As the night came to an end, they headed outside the club, where they shared a kiss under the neon lights of Night City.

(Sasha) "This was a great date. Thank you, Karito."

(Karito) "I had a great time too. I'm looking forward to doing this again."

They both parted ways and went to their lives. Whenever there was a chance they would continuously meet up with each other and do all kinds of stuff and pull pranks on random people. They had the time of their lives together.

Year 20

Westbrook District

It was nighttime and Tombstone was engaged in a phone conversation with an unknown individual. He strolled to the balcony of his luxurious mansion, taking in the breathtaking cityscape while sipping on a glass of fine wine.

(Dark Tombstone) "I don't care how much he lost. Spider-Man is still considered force majeure."

(???) "But you guaranteed the deal, Tombstone. The word on the street is that you can't run a territory now that the Guardian has appeared."

(Dark Tombstone) "He's just looking for an excuse to make a move."

(???) "No, this is more than just an excuse. The bosses are in agreement, if something goes wrong, we can't get involved."

(Dark Tombstone) "Did someone ask you to? It's late, Lee. Get some sleep."

(???) "Wait!-" The call was abruptly cut off.

At that moment, Tombstone entered the mansion, accompanied by his feline companion. He made his way to his room and headed straight for his wine cellar. After admiring his collection for a moment, he decided to pour himself one last drink for the night. As he raised the glass to his lips, he noticed a strange odor. He sniffed the air, trying to identify the source of the scent. Suddenly, recognition dawned on him. It was the unmistakable scent of a bomb.

(Dark Tombstone) "Ah, fu-"

A sudden conflagration erupted within the confines of Tombstone's grand mansion. The resulting explosion reverberated through the surrounding block, its seismic force rippling through the very foundation of the area. In the wake of the detonation, a chaotic symphony of debris soared through the air, each fragment tracing a unique trajectory as it was propelled in every conceivable direction.

(Dark Tombstone) "Alright... someone's gonna die..."

The next day

Karito Pov

10:30 AM

I stretch my arms, feeling the familiar creak of bones and joints. I look around my room, wondering what kind of day I'll have. I need to get out there and fight some crime and see how many deliveries and cybernetics I need to build.

12:00 PM

I dodge the porn-addicted guy on the street, keeping my eyes forward as I move. I've got about half an hour to pick up that pre-order for the game I've been waiting for.

12:45 PM

Fucking sales. Of course, someone had gotten attacked in an alleyway just as I was about to make my purchase. I guess I'll take my anger out on some criminals... after I grab a bite to eat.

1:30 PM

I choose a random joint to grab lunch. It reminds me of Waffle House. I decide to go all out and get breakfast for lunch. That's a power move.

...

What the hell is this about the waffle house finding a new host?

3:30 PM

Well, I got kicked out for starting a trend apparently... and also for almost emptying their entire food supply. At least I didn't pay and they just never want to see my face again. Also, when did it start raining?

5:30 PM

I've been feeling someone following me all day. A black hovering limousine has been shadowing me, and I can sense some dark energy coming from it.

It pulls up beside me.

(Dark Tombstone) "You walk a lot, Guardian. It's raining. Get in."

(Karito) "You're planning to threaten my life, get in line. An entire omniverse is after my ass."

(Dark Tombstone) "If I wanted to threaten you I would've done it differently now wouldn't I?"

(Karito) "Of course, this is the first time a Dark has actually just invited me in their vehicle. They usually just talk their villain talk and attack me."

(Dark Tombstone) "Well, things around here are different as you can see."

(Karito) "I noticed. Anyways, what do you want?"

(Dark Tombstone) "Arasaka blew up my house last night. Cat barely made it. We're going to have a little scuffle."

(Karito) Scoff "And what do you want me to do about it?"

(Dark Tombstone) "Nothing. I'll deal with them. That's my world. But I want you to know something. This war that's about to happen? It's all your fault."

(Karito) "What isn't my fault these days?"

(Dark Tombstone) "You and that cocky attitude. I'm gonna teach you how stupid your do-gooder fucking is. You are my project now. I'll show you how this world really works. and when I'm done you are going to be left with nothing. Got that?"

(Karito) "Heh. Heh heh..."

(Dark Tombstone) "The hell's so funny?"

(Karito) "It's just funny how bored I've been feeling recently with nothing much going on. I've been DYING for something to happen. so next time I see you, shit's going down. And I'm gonna LOVE IT!"

(Dark Tombstone) "..."

(Karito) "..."

(Dark Tombstone) "You're fucking insane. Get out of my car."

I open the door and step out of the car, rain once again hitting my head and shoulders.

(Dark Tombstone) "See you around." Drives away

6:00 PM

Look at that. There is something valuable to do now.

A week later

(Karito) On a call "They were great, Sasha. You know, some light coloring. Gluing of construct paper. Someone got a sizable glob in my hair, but I'm not ready to name a suspect."

...

(Karito) "Yep, pudding and juice. Well, two puddings for David, but I think he's saving one for later. Babe, I'm actually heading somewhere... Can I call you back?"

...

(Karito) "Great. Bye."

I hate to rush Sasha and spout bullshit. I just don't want to worry her about what's about to happen and I hope this doesn't take long.

(Karito) "Toxin." Get's enveloped and forms his suit

Tombstone made a mistake when he said he was coming after me. He's a bully. He tries to move into your head. But I've been threatened with worse. That won't work on me. I deal with them head-on. No hesitation. So look alive, Tombstone. I'm going to kill you.

The afternoon

Westbrook District

As I web-swing above the city, the sight below me sends a chill down my spine. It's been a while since I've come to this part of the city, mainly to avoid any confrontations with the Darks. But now, it seems I have no choice but to get involved.

The once bustling street is now filled with smoke, with debris and rubble scattered everywhere. Bodies of Arasaka guards lay lifeless on the ground, their weapons still clutched in their hands. The destruction is extensive, almost as if a bomb had gone off. The normally uniformed police officers are no exception to the chaos, their bodies lying lifeless amongst the rubble.

(Dark Tombstone) "Forgot how exhausting this shit is."

(Spider-Man) Lands in front of him "What the fuck did you do?!"

(Dark Tombstone) "I'm reasserting myself."

(Spider-Man) "Oh god, I never actually thought I would hear someone basically say "Just to assert dominance". To actually think I'm being blamed for this chaos... Wow..."

(Dark Tombstone) "This? Nah. I needed their guns. Took away two truckloads already. Now I'm gonna make an example out of crime masters here. You're right. This doesn't concern you. So fuck off."

(Spider-Man) "You really think that's going to happen?"

(Dark Tombstone) "Start her up, Clyde! Let's go!" The truck starts to drive away

(Spider-Man) "The fuck you think you're going, huh?!" Shots two webs behind Tombstone

(Dark Tombstone) "Heh."

(Spider-Man) Slingshots towards Tombstone and dropkicks his stomach "WHAT'S SO FUNNY?!"

My kick had made Tombstone crash to the other side of the truck making a loud thoom sound.

(Spider-Man) Walks towards Tombstone "You wanted to teach me a lesson? Here, I am! COME ON!"

(Dark Tombstone) "All right, spycho..."

Tombstone throws a right cross but I slip to the side and knees the gangster on the stomach.

(Dark Tombstone) "GYARR!"

(Spider-Man) "You said I was your project!"

I quickly grabbed Tombstone's face and slams it on the walls of the truck.

(Spider-Man) "Is this what you wanted?!"

(Dark Tombstone) "URG!"

Then I elbow the gangster on the back of his neck.

(Spider-Man) "Are you happy now?!"

(Dark Tombstone) "Guh!" Smiles "Heh. Yeah, I am."

(Spider-Man) "Huh?" Notices the truck's back doors suddenly closed and the walls started to move "Hydraulics?! FUCK!"

(Dark Tombstone) "Do you feel it? How bad you just fucked up? That's the truth closing in on you, kid. Time to learn your lesson."

(Spider-Man) Jumps and starts using his strength to prevent the hydraulic walls from crushing him "Maybe."

I threw a kick that landed on the gangster's face and quickly follow up with a punch to his face.

(Spider-Man) "But not without a fight. Because if there's one thing-"

Suddenly Tombstone punches me directly below my sternum. I couldn't finish my thought. He took the wind out of me and there's no more talking.

I make one more move. I quickly used both my fists to at least try to disorient Tombstone but it did nothing as he was able to take it. I'm out of room. I can't maneuver.

He wrapped his arms around me and started to tighten his hug. I could feel my ribs and spinal cords crackling because of his strength

He's got me. Not making a sound.

(Dark Tombstone) "These walls have spikes as you can see. You were wise to carefully place your hand and feet on them. But I wonder what will happen when two walls with Tons upon tons of force crush you. I say this because these walls are made of Darkastine and it also vibrates at a specific frequency. One that symbiotes hate." Smiles

I was trapped in the crushing embrace of Tombstone, my bones cracking under the immense pressure he was exerting on me. The walls of the truck were closing in, the tons of force bearing down on me as I tried to escape.

Every inch of my body was screaming in agony, the pain growing more intense with each passing moment. I could feel my ribs starting to cave in, the pressure becoming unbearable. The walls of the truck were closing in on me, their spikes digging into my skin.

My muscles were straining to the point of tearing, my breaths coming out in short gasps. The hydraulic walls were slowly crushing the life out of me, and I couldn't escape. Tombstone's grip was like a vice, holding me in place as the walls closed in.

I could hear the sickening crunch of my bones as they were slowly being crushed, the pain becoming unbearable. I couldn't scream, couldn't make a sound, as the walls closed in on me.

Tombstone's words echoed in my mind, reminding me that the walls were made of Darkastine and vibrated at a frequency that symbiotes hated. My powers were useless, my strength waning as the walls continued to crush me.

Weeks Later

The sound of footsteps echoed through the damp, musty air of the abandoned subway station, growing louder with each passing moment. My heart races as I lay helplessly on the cold, hard concrete, my hands, and legs bound in the dark and heavy chains of Darkastine. The chains are so tight that I can barely move, let alone defend myself from the relentless beating I know is about to come.

I can feel the rough surface of the ground beneath me, the tiny bits of gravel and dirt grinding into my open wounds and bruises. Every inch of my body is aching and throbbing with pain, but I try to push it all aside and focus on getting out of this place.

Suddenly, I hear the clanking of metal, and I know it's too late. Tombstone and his goons have arrived, and they're not here to talk. I feel a sharp jolt of pain as a metal bat connects with my jaw, and I hear a crunching sound that I can only assume is my jaw breaking. I feel my face swelling, the pain radiating through my entire skull, but I can't even scream.

Another goon grabs the back of my mask, lifting me up and punching me repeatedly in the gut. The pain is so intense that I feel like I'm going to vomit, and I can't help but retch as blood pours from my mouth and into my mask. The goon throws me to the ground, and the relentless assault continues.

I'm beaten with spiked bats, wooden planks, and even nails, my captors showing no mercy as they make sure I don't die from my injuries, throwing me healing potions just to beat me again. My nails are even pulled out, only to be healed and then ripped out again, over and over, a never-ending cycle of pain. I'm exhausted, battered, and broken, but I can't give up. I have to keep fighting, even if it seems like there's no hope.

Time passes, but it's impossible to say how much. The pain is all-consuming, and I feel like I've been trapped here for an eternity. But I can't give up, I need to help Toxin, and not when there's still a chance that I can escape and bring these monsters to justice. I hold on, clinging to the hope that somehow, some way, I'll find a way to break free and bring an end to this nightmare.

Another week later

No Pov

Gloria paced back and forth in her living room, wringing her hands anxiously. It had been two weeks since she had last seen or heard from her eldest son, Karito. Normally, he was a responsible and dependable young man who kept in close contact with his family. But now, he was nowhere to be found and his phone was going straight to voicemail.

David, Karito's younger brother, sat quietly on the couch, watching his mother with concern. He was usually more composed, but even he was starting to worry. Karito was not only his brother but also his mentor, and he looked up to him in every way.

(David) "Mamá, maybe he's just busy," He said, trying to comfort her "Karito always takes care of himself. He'll be back soon."

(Gloria) "I hope so," She replied, her voice shaking. "But it's not like him to disappear like this. He always answers his phone and lets us know where he is."

She walked over to the window and looked out, hoping to see Karito walking up the street. But there was no sign of him.

(Gloria ) "What if something happened to him?" She muttered, her voice filled with fear "What if he's hurt or in trouble?"

David got up from the couch and walked over to his mother, putting a comforting arm around her.

(David) "We don't know that anything has happened to him," he said "But we can't just sit here and do nothing. I think we should go out and look for him."

(Gloria) She nodded, grateful for her son's support "Yes, you're right. We need to find him."

The two of them quickly grabbed their jackets and headed out the door, determined to find Karito. They walked the streets, talked to anyone who might have seen him and even went to the police to report him missing. But as the days went on and they still had no news of him, their hope started to fade.

Gloria's desperation grew with each passing day. She had always been the rock of the family, but now she was falling apart. She couldn't bear the thought of losing her eldest son. She prayed that he was safe and that they would find him soon.

David, meanwhile, tried to be strong for his mother and keep her spirits up. He refused to give up hope, even as the days passed without any news of Karito. He knew that his brother was resourceful and capable and that he would do everything in his power to find him.

Together, David and Gloria searched for Karito, not giving up hope, but growing increasingly worried with each passing day. They just wanted to bring their beloved son and brother back home, where he belonged.

...

Sasha sat on her couch, scrolling through her phone as she tried to call Karito for the fifth time that day. She couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in her stomach since she realized he wasn't answering her calls.

(Sasha) "Come on, Karito, pick up," she muttered, her thumb hovering over the call button as she took a deep breath and pressed it.

The phone rang and rang, but there was no answer. Sasha's worry started to grow. She had never known Karito to not pick up her calls, and the fact that she couldn't reach him was starting to make her anxious.

(Sahsa) She tried again, this time leaving a message "Karito, it's me, Sasha. I'm starting to get worried about you. Please, just call me back when you get this."

She ended the call and sat back, running a hand through her hair. She had a terrible feeling that something was wrong. She tried to shake it off, telling herself that he was probably just busy, but the worry wouldn't go away.

As the day went on, Sasha's anxiety grew. She tried calling Karito every hour, but he still wasn't answering. She started pacing, her mind racing with thoughts of what could have happened to him. Had he been in an accident? Was he hurt?

Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She grabbed her keys and headed to his apartment, hoping that maybe she would find him there. When she arrived, there was no answer at the door, and she was starting to feel frantic.

(Sasha) "Karito, where are you?" she whispered, her voice trembling as tears started to roll down her cheeks "Please, just let me know you're okay."

Sasha sat down on the steps outside his apartment, feeling helpless and scared. She didn't know what to do or where to turn. All she knew was that she needed to find Karito, and she wouldn't stop until she did.

THUK!

THUNK!!

SOK!!

(Spider-Man) "GYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAARRRGHHHH!!! Agghhh! My bones, they're being pulled apart! WHAT IS THIS?!"

(Dark Tombstone) "That's right. Your arms and legs are being pulled backward by the chains, causing your bones to bend and dislocate. But don't worry, I have a little surprise for you." Tombstone reaches for a vial, filled with a glowing green liquid. "A healing potion. Keeps you alive and well enough to suffer more."

Spider-Man grunts in pain as he feels his bones snap back into place, only to be pulled apart again. He has lost count of how many times this has happened. No food, no water, and enclosed in this dark, suffocating space. He has been beaten with every weapon imaginable, from spiked bats to jagged pieces of metal. His skin is covered in bruises and gashes, and his nails have been ripped out one by one.

(Dark Tombstone) "You never should have crossed into this dimension, Guardian. You thought it was all just a game, didn't you? But there's a reason why Guardians have different powers. They reflect how they perceive the world. You're the only one with a gamer system because you see everything as a game. When will you grow up and take things seriously? There have been times when you've seen the world for what it truly is, and it's driven you to the brink of madness. Every time you let that side of you out, it becomes stronger. The Spider-Man you are now is just a sad sight to behold. If you continue down this path, you'll become a monster. No better than any of us."

Tombstone starts to walk away as more goons enter the room full of weapons.

(Dark Tombstone) "Kill him." Leaves

Suddenly, the lights in the room flicker, and the goons start convulsing as they drop their weapons. Spider-Man watches in confusion as a woman among the goons steps forward and removes his chains with a key.

(Maria) "I remember you, Spider-Man. You saved me 9 years ago. And now, it's my turn to repay the favor."

(Spider-Man) "Maria? Is that you?"

(Maria) "Yes. I've been working on improving my hacking skills ever since you saved me. And today, when I heard that you were taken captive I just couldn't do nothing. I've just hacked into their cybernetics and taken control."

(Spider-Man) "You did all of this just to save me?"

(Maria) "Yes. I owe you my life. And I won't let anyone take it away from me, or from you. Come on, I'll get you out of here."

(Spider-Man) "I can feel my powers coming back to me... I'm taking this whole place down..."

(Maria) "Spider-Man we don't-"

(Spider-Man) "They are fucking dying today!"

Berserk Mode on

(Maria) "This should be interesting..."

...

Thud!

(Arasaka Guard 1) "Did you hear that?"

(Arasaka Guard 2) "The hell?"

(Arasaka Guard 3) "Why is the safe door moving like that?"

(Arasaka Guard 2) "This bunker is supposed to handle a nuclear blast. So why is it shaking like that?"

As Spider-Man stumbled out of the basement where he was being held captive and tortured for days, he was fueled by a mix of anger and adrenaline. He had to escape and kill every single gangster he set his sights upon. He slowly made his way up the building, using his spider-sense to avoid any traps or ambushes.

As he reached the first floor, he was immediately met with a group of armed Arasaka Guards. Without hesitation, Spider-Man sprang into action, his training and natural reflexes taking over. He dodged and weaved through their shots, his quick movements making it difficult for them to aim.

With a quick leap, he took down the first group of guards with a combination of punches and kicks, leaving them unconscious on the floor and ending their misery with his stingers. He quickly web-slinged his way up to the next floor, encountering another group of guards.

This time, they were better prepared and had brought heavier weapons. But Spider-Man was relentless. He used his webs to disorient the gangsters, leaving them open for attack. He knocked them down with powerful blows, leaving them dazed and disoriented.

The higher he climbed, the more determined the guards became. They brought out heavier weapons, including machine guns and even rocket launchers. But Spider-Man was a master of using his surroundings to his advantage. He used his webs to deflect the shots or to immobilize the attackers.

As he reached the top floor, he faced a Dark Goblin Arasaka Guard's, with hulking bodies. They were surrounded by others of the same rank all armed to the teeth. But Spider-Man was not intimidated.

He sprang into action, his movements faster and more precise than ever before. He took down the Goblins with a combination of webs, punches, and kicks. But Goblins weren't pushovers. They all had a surge of power, and they fought with a ferocity that matched Spider-Man's own.

The hero and the dark forces battled back and forth, exchanging blows and grappling with each other. At one point, one of the Goblin's grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher and used it to bash Spider-Man in the head. But Spider-Man was not to be denied. He shook off the attack and struck back with a powerful punch that sent all of the lieutenants flying across the room.

Finally, with a final burst of energy, Spider-Man overpowered them by blasting all of them with a point-blank venom blast that disintegrated them. Breathing heavily, Spider-Man surveyed the destruction he had wrought. The entire building was in shambles, with dead gangsters scattered everywhere.

(Spider-Man) Heavy breathing "Fuckers..." Senses Toxin

He walked towards a wall and destroys it, revealing a hidden room. The hero surveyed the area and spotted his symbiotic companion trapped in a capsule. Many radios and flames were closed to the poor symbiote as it screamed in agony. Spider-Man quickly turned off the fires and broke the capsule. The hero expected the symbiote to quickly envelop him but Toxin just stayed like slime on the palm of his hand.

(Spider-Man) "Toxin? What's wrong?"

(Toxin) "I'm... too tired... I can't even... form... your suit..."

(Spider-Man) "That's fine. We both have been through hell. Rest for now, I'll deal with the rest."

(Toxin) "Ok..." Hides in the inventory

(Maria) "Holy fuck, remind me to never piss you off."

(Spider-Man) "Look, Maria, I appreciate you helping me. Thanks."

(Maria) "Don't sweat it. My debt was paid. See you, Spider-Man."

(Spider-Man) "Yeah, see you..."

Spider-Man leaps outside the building and webs swing a good distance and lands on another building just staring at the building he came out of.

(Spider-Man) "What a mess... Fucking bastard actually hid me in one of Arasaka's bases. He made everyone there dress like gangsters in that basement. He was tricking me this entire time for me to do his job for him..."

Spider-Man clenches his fists. Anger fueled his entire being.

(Spider-Man) "Tombstone..."

....

(Dark Tombstone) "What of it?"

(Dark Mr. Negative) "What I'm saying is that it wasn't wise to start a fight among each other when the Guardian es present! Now one of Green Goblins' bases was destroyed by a very pissed of Guardian. All because you wanted to assert dominance?! This isn't time for that, Tombstone!"

(Dark Tombstone) "Norman pissed me off. He blew my house and almost killed my cat, I wasn't going to let that slide."

(Dark Mr. Negative) Grunts "We can't fight each other! We should've just focused on the Guardian! You had him in your grasp!"

(Dark Tombstone) "He did my job for me now didn't he?" Snickers

(Dark Mr. Negative) "I can't believe this... " Sighs

(Dark Tombstone) "Relax, Martin. Everything is fine." Sips his wine

(Dark Mr. Negative) "The Guardian is going to kill you. You know that, right?"

(Dark Tombstone) "I know."

(Dark Mr. Negative) "And he's going to take your whole gang down too..."

(Dark Tombstone) "If me beating him senseless didn't teach him to finish the job then I'll kill him this time."

(Dark Mr. Negative) "So that's it? 60 thousand years traveling through dimensions and this is how it'll end?"

(Dark Tombstone) "That's how The Tombstone... will die."

(Dark Mr. Negative) Sigh "Then it's been a pleasure having you as a friend. Despite you being a huge pain in the ass."

(Dark Tombstone) "It's been fun, Martin Lee. Goodbye."

(Dark Mr. Negative) "Goodbye, Alonzo..."

...

It was nighttime in Tombstone's new mansion. He walked towards his kitchen, grabbing himself a bottle of wine. Once he poured himself a drink, he went to his living room and saw Spider-Man, still bloodied and beaten, but in a relaxed posture on the couch. The hero took off his mask, revealing his swollen and cut face.

(Dark Tombstone) "You're ruining the carpet."

(Spider-Man) "Who cares about the carpet? Not like it'll matter after this."

(Dark Tombstone) "Finally grew some balls, did you?"

(Spider-Man) "My eyes have been opened. And I'm going to make sure you pay for what you've done."

(Dark Tombstone) "Can you let a man have one last drink before saying hello to the lord?"

(Spider-Man) "The only person you'll be saying hello to is the devil."

(Dark Tombstone) "I know, but before you execute me, aren't you at least curious as to why?"

(Spider-Man) "Okay, Alonzo. Why are you?"

(Dark Tombstone) "That's a great question." Tombstone took a deep breath and exhaled. "People think filing my teeth was a strange choice. But it wasn't a choice at all. I grew up hungry. Never enough to eat. Learned early on that no matter what the world had to offer, there wasn't enough left over for me. No matter how much I asked, no one offered. So I stopped asking. Stopped talking altogether. I was bullied because I was different. Dragged into an alleyway and beaten by trash. Never made it to school with my lunch tickets. But when I stopped talking, I could hear what the world was trying to teach me. I was learning its language. The oldest one we have. And if I was going to make my way, I was going to have to speak it. If they wanted me to talk, I would talk. I would make them get close enough to hear me. In the language, I chose to speak... violence. Those fuckers never ate off me again. And I kept the whisper. Because I decided if you had business with me, you were going to be close enough to feel my teeth. By high school, I was eating well. Eating off everyone. And my appetite grew. But it was always about the same thing. Making sure I had enough. Doing whatever it took to keep it. Fighting the 'good guys' who would never understand that there ain't no sin a man can commit in the process of feeding himself.

And just when I thought I had enough, a man approached me with a proposal. I still remember his words as if they were yesterday. 'If you come with me, I will promise you the universe, and if that's not enough, then the multiverse or the Omniverse. Anything you want at the palm of your hand. You won't work under me but beside me. You will be your own boss with your own crew. Anything you can dream of, you can have it. Just think carefully about it and I will bring the heavens down to your feet. Just think about it, Alonzo Thompson Lincoln.' And I accepted his proposal, and I really did get everything he listed and more. I thought I was dreaming, but I wasn't. I didn't age, so decades became centuries, and centuries became a millennium. Life was never boring when the internet has so much diversity. And now, I stand in front of my sworn enemy, ready to end my thousands of years of life."

(Spider-Man) "Your story means nothing to me, Tombstone. I've heard it all before. Rich, powerful, feared criminal with a sob story about how they got there. It's all just excuses for the lives you've destroyed, and the people you've hurt. Your centuries of existence are nothing but a stain on this world. You talk about violence being the only language you understand? Well, let me speak it loud and clear for you. Your time is up. Your reign of terror ends now. I don't care about your past, your childhood, or your twisted justifications. All I see is a monster that needs to be stopped. And I'm going to do it. I'm going to take you down, once and for all. So go ahead and drink your last glass of wine. Savor the taste. Because it's the last thing you'll ever enjoy. Because when I'm finished with you, you'll be nothing but a footnote in history. A cautionary tale of what happens to those who dare to stand against me."

(Dark Tombstone) "And here we are. The end of the line. I've got nothing left to lose, and you've got nothing left to gain. It's just you and me, Spider-Man. And I want you to know, as I take my last breath, that I have no regrets. I've lived a life of power, wealth, and privilege beyond what most could ever dream of. I've done things that would make the devil himself tremble in fear. And I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. I've lived life on my own terms, and I'll die that way too. I have no fear of death because I know that I've lived a life that most could only imagine. So go ahead, do your worst. I'm ready to face the judgment of the gods if they even exist. But know this, Spider-Man, I won't go down easily. I'll fight until my last breath because I'm Tombstone, the king of the streets, the terror of the underworld. And even in death, my legend will live on."

(Spider-Man) Scoff "...Rent skill... penance stare..."

Skill Penance Stare has been bought for 100 Million Gold.

Usage: 1

(Spider-Man) "Now look into my eyes."

Tombstone's eyes locked with Karito's, and he was suddenly confronted with every sin he had ever committed. Every act of violence, every person he had hurt, every soul he had claimed, all played out before him in vivid detail.

Tombstone screamed, falling to his knees as the weight of his actions crushed him. Karito watched as Tombstone's soul was consumed by the power of the Penance Stare, leaving nothing behind but a shell of a man.

Karito stumbled back, the energy of the Penance Stare taking its toll on him. He felt a weight on his soul and knew that the price he had paid for using the skill would haunt him for a long time to come. But he was at peace, knowing that Tombstone had received the punishment he so rightfully deserved.

(Spider-Man) "Huh... So you did have regrets..." Walks away and calls his mother Gloria "...Mom...Yeah, I'm fine... I was just in a very dark place... I'm on my way home... I'll see you there" Calls Sasha "Hey babe... Yeah, I'm sorry I worried you... I'm coming home to my mom's... the worse time to meet her I know... but I can't do shit right now... Okay... I'll see you... I love you too..." Hangs up

...

The sound of a car engine pulls up to the driveway. Gloria, David, and Sasha are sitting on a bench, waiting anxiously. As they see the car approach, they quickly stand up and start running toward it.

Karito, his face severely injured and covered in bruises, slowly steps out of the car. Despite his appearance, he tries to smile at them, but it's clear that the effort is painful for him.

Gloria runs up to him, tears streaming down her face, and throws her arms around him.

(Gloria) "Karito! My baby, what happened to you? Where have you been?" She cries out, unable to hold back her emotions.

David, who is only 16 years old, looks at Karito with wide eyes.

(David) "Karito! You're hurt!" He says, sounding scared and confused.

(Sasha) She runs up to Karito as well, tears in her eyes "I've been so worried about you," she says, her voice shaking with emotion "What happened? Why did you disappear?"

(Karito) He takes a deep breath, trying to steady himself "It's a long story," he says, his voice weak and hoarse "But I'm back now, and that's all that matters."

Gloria takes Karito's arm and helps him inside, with David and Sasha following close behind. They lead him to the couch and help him get comfortable.

(Gloria) "Just rest, Karito," She says. "We'll take care of you."

The family gathers around Karito, making sure he's comfortable and giving him all the love and support he needs. Despite the physical pain he's in, Karito can feel a warmth spreading through him, knowing that he's finally home with his family and the people who love him.

(Gloria) "Also... when were you ever gonna tell me that you had a girlfriend?"

(Sasha) Nervous laughter

(Karito) "I'll tell you... all about it when I recover... I'm going to sleep now..."

Year 21

It had been a year since Karito disappeared, and a lot had changed. He was now walking the streets of Night City with Sasha, his girlfriend, taking in all the sights and sounds of the city. The bright neon lights, the hum of the city, and the constant chatter of people going about their business. They held hands as they walked, taking in all the new technology that had come to the city in the past year.

(Karito) "This place never stops amazing me." He said, admiring the towering skyscrapers and flying cars overhead.

(Sasha) She smiled at him "I know, it's like we're living in a whole different world."

They stopped at a street vendor, buying a couple of cold drinks. They found a quiet bench to sit on and talked, catching up on everything that had happened since they last saw each other. Karito told Sasha about his kidnapping now that he was more comfortable talking about it. Sasha was in awe of his accomplishments, and the dangers he had faced.

(Sasha) "I can't even imagine what that must have been like for you. I didn't know you were THAT strong." She said, taking a sip of her drink.

(Karito) He smiled "It was intense, but I'm just glad to be back here with you."

They sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, just taking in the city around them. Suddenly, Karito's phone rang, and he glanced down at the caller ID.

(Karito) "It's David," he said, answering the call.

David was calling to tell him that their mother, Gloria, was in the hospital. They quickly made their way there, and when they arrived, they found Gloria lying in a hospital bed, hooked up to a machine that was beeping softly.

(Karito) "Mom, what happened?" He asked, rushing to her side.

(Gloria) "I'm okay, son," She said, smiling weakly "I just got a little dizzy and passed out."

(Karito) "Mom, I told you not to overwork yourself. You know I'm helping you with rent and debts."

(Gloria) "I know... But I don't want to burden you..."

(Karito) "Mom, you're never a burden."

(Gloria) Smiles "Thank you, Karito."

Karito and Sasha stayed at the hospital with her, keeping her company and making sure she was comfortable. After a few hours, the doctor came in and told them that she was going to be okay, but she needed to rest.

Karito breathed a sigh of relief and leaned in to give his mother a kiss on the forehead. He knew that he needed to be there for his family, and he was grateful to be able to do so.

As they left the hospital, Karito and Sasha held hands, walking down the street and taking in the sights and sounds of the city.

Until things took a change... for the worse.

...

It had been a typical night in Night City for Sasha Yakovleva. She and her fellow edgerunners, Dorio and Rebecca, had just completed a job, their latest in a string of successful heists. The trio was winding down with drinks at the Afterlife when they were approached by a new client with an interesting proposal. Sasha, a netrunner, was tasked with infiltrating the headquarters of Biotechnica to extract sensitive financial records and information about a new immunosuppressant prototype.

Sasha was nervous but determined as she made her way into the building undetected. As she dug deeper into the Biotechnica databases, she stumbled upon something that would change her life forever. Files about Securicine, the painkillers that her mother had taken before she died. Sasha's mother had suffered from a debilitating illness and had taken the painkillers to ease her suffering, but they had only made her condition worse. Sasha was horrified to learn that Biotechnica was aware of the side effects of the painkillers, but had chosen to keep selling them anyway, as they were too profitable to pull from the market.

Sasha sat in front of the computer, staring at the incriminating files she had just uncovered. She felt a mix of anger, sadness, and disbelief. How could Biotechnica have allowed her mother to suffer and die from the side effects of their painkillers, despite knowing the danger? She knew she had to do something to expose the truth and honor her mother's memory.

With a deep breath, she picked up her phone and dialed Karito's number. He answered on the first ring.

(Sasha) "Karito..." She said, her voice shaking "I need to talk to you. It's about Biotechnica."

(Karito) "What is it, Sasha?" He asked, sensing the urgency in her voice. "What's happened?"

(Sasha) "I've found something, something terrible," She replied, her voice breaking "They knew about the side effects of Securicine, the painkillers my mother was taking, and they did nothing. They allowed people to suffer and die, just so they could keep making money."

Karito listened in shock as Sasha told him everything she had discovered. He could hear the tears in her voice and feel her pain. He knew he had to do something to help.

(Karito) "Sasha, listen to me," He said, his voice steady "You need to wait for me, I can help you. I'll get you out of Night City."

(Sasha) "No, Karito," She replied, her voice firm "I can't wait anymore, any second I'll be detected. I have to do something. I'm going to upload the information to the N54 News tipline. The truth needs to come out."

(Karito) "Sasha, please! Just wait for me!" He said, panic rising in his voice "It's too dangerous. Let me come and get you, please! I can't lose you!"

(Sasha) "I love you, Karito," She said, her voice full of emotion "I need to do this for my mother and for all the people who have suffered because of Biotechnica's greed. Just promise me you'll be safe."

(Karito) "I promise, Sasha," He replied, tears streaming down his face "I love you too. But please! Just hold on! I'm coming for you!"

Sasha ended the call, tears in her eyes, but with a determination to do what was right.

Enraged, Sasha decided to take action. She started uploading the entire Securicine database to the N54 News tipline, determined to expose Biotechnica's wrongdoing to the world. But her actions had consequences. Biotechnica's defense robots detected her intrusion and a firefight broke out. Sasha was determined to finish the upload and bring justice to her mother's memory. She continued to fight fiercely taking the robots down one by one. But as she thought she was going to survive this.

A burst of horrifying laughter echoed in the streets.

(Dark Green Goblin) "HAHAHAHA!!!"

...

Karito's hands were shaking as he scrambled to find his Spider-Man suit. Every second counted, and he could feel the weight of urgency bearing down on him. He could still hear Sasha's voice in his head, the sound of her distress sending shivers down his spine. He had to get to her, he had to save her.

He yanked the suit on over his clothes, not even pausing to make sure everything was in place. He didn't have time. He needed to be fast, he needed to be there for her. He could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins as he raced towards Sasha's location.

He swung through the city, using his webs to propel himself forward. He could hear the sounds of police sirens and the chaos of the city around him, but he didn't let it distract him. He needed to focus. He needed to be there for Sasha.

As he approached the building, he could see the flashing lights of emergency vehicles and the throngs of people gathered outside. He could see the police officers trying to keep the crowd back, but he didn't let that stop him. He was Spider-Man, and he would do whatever it took to save the one he loved.

He pushed his way through the crowd, not stopping for anyone or anything. He could see the chaos and destruction that surrounded the building, but he didn't let it deter him. He needed to find Sasha, he needed to save her.

He burst into the building, his senses on high alert. He could hear the sounds of gunfire and the screams of the wounded, but he didn't let it distract him. He needed to find Sasha, and he needed to save her. He was the hero she needed, and he would do whatever it took to be there for her.

Spider-Man activated his hyper-sense to move at blinding speeds. He was just a blur to people of how fast he was moving. He was checking every room and every corner of the building not missing a single spot.

But then he heard that laughter. The very famous laughter that everyone knows.

His anxiety and stress reached new heights as he busted down the roof door and saw what he wished he didn't imagine. He saw the Green Goblin holding Sasha by the throat, standing at the edge of the building.

He started to hyperventilate just by witnessing the scene, exactly the one when Peter lost his first love, Gwen Stacy. It was happening to him the exact same way as in the comics but in different locations.

(Dark Green Goblin) "Looks familiar, right? This scene from the comics you've seen?"

(Spider-Man) "S-STOP! DON'T HURT HER!"

(Dark Green Goblin) "You know how this ends... But I want to do something different this time." Raises his hand putting all of his fingers in a cutting motion

(Spider-Man) "NOOOO!!!"

At that moment, time seemed to slow to a crawl. Sasha's eyes locked with Spider-Man's as the Green Goblin lunged forward, plunging his hand deep into her stomach. The sound of her anguished cry was like a knife in Spider-Man's heart as he watched her body tumble off the edge of the building. With a roar of rage and grief, Spider-Man threw himself after her. He could hear the Green Goblin's laughter echoing in his ears as he fell, determined to catch Sasha and save her, no matter what. He uses his lateral repulsion to a level that breaks the sound barrier. A sonic boom ran across the entire block as he catches Sasha's body and he opens a teleporter to fall into a secret area. Their fall was cushioned by many beds and plushies.

Karito clutched the healing potion tightly in his hand, his heart racing as he knelt next to Sasha's prone form. He had never felt so helpless in his life, watching as the love of his life lay motionless and bleeding on the ground.

He popped the top off the potion and brought it to Sasha's lips, making her gulp down the potion's healing properties. He stumbled over his words praying that she was alright. He continued to repeat the words "Please, be alright" in a frantic manner.

But nothing was happening. Sasha wasn't moving, wasn't breathing. And Karito was starting to feel like he was losing her like he was failing her in the most basic of ways.

His hands were shaking now, and he could feel his chest tightening, a sense of suffocation closing in around him. He had a panic attack, and he couldn't stop it or slow down his racing heart or the thoughts racing through his mind.

What if this doesn't work? What if she's gone for good? What if I'm too late?

Tears streamed down his face as he continued to try to activate the healing potion, his voice becoming more and more frenzied as he tried to make it work. But still, nothing was happening, and he was starting to feel like he was losing her for good.
