The God of Machines

Centuries prior, the Gods blessed this world with their magical powers, granting their abilities to everyone born from their lineage. Luckily, everyone is descended from a deity, but unfortunately, their power wanes with each generation, until the modern day, where the young generations cannot hope to become powerful. Lua Moonsilver is one of these younger generations. He is a Tinkerer descended from the God of Machines, and is very weak compared to his ancestors. He was destined to live out his days making toys. By unknown circumstances, Lua encounters a gem in a forest, that gets him into contact with one of these ancient Gods. He learns about the secret of evolution, granting him the priceless knowledge to become stronger.

The Toad-Beasts

Large creatures croaked in the valley. They had two legs and looked similar to a frog. Their legs were short, but the body on top of them was large and rotund. Their skin was a crimson red, and in addition to this, they possessed a large mouth shape that lacked teeth. They lacked what could be considered arms, relying on their two legs as their only support.

On top of their heads, a fire burnt as if the creatures were a candle. This seemingly never-ending fire was likely to keep potential predators away, but it was unknown to Lua if they could wield said fire in combat.

Around the valley, Lua could spot twenty of these majestic creatures. They weren't difficult to spot due to their height of nearly three metres, alongside their large body shape that couldn't be avoided. From this distance, Lua couldn't tell if they had tails or not. But if these creatures indeed evolved from frogs like Lua believed, then it made sense that they lacked one.
