8. A Hard Days Work.

After leaving the training grounds, Lance looked at the map in his hand and followed it to his residence. Walking up and down the still bustling streets, Lance felt his outfit was soaked. 'I'm all sweaty. I'm gonna need to take a shower when we get there'.

'Don't forget you also smell!' Vixen was waving her hand past her nose as she gave Lance a big grin.

'Wait, you're always around, does that mean that.' Lance paused for a second, he knew exactly how taking a shower will be. 'Never mind!' Hanging his head in defeat he continued walking to his destination.

'Geez, it's not like it's a big deal. So what if I see you naked or something? But, if it bothers you that much, I can turn my sensory perception off.' Vixen was a little sad at that thought. Though she doesn't care, either way, it can pose a risk to them as she won't be able to alert him of incoming danger.

Lance continued walking towards his accommodations, 'Look, it's embarrassing. I get we are gonna be together for a long time, so I'll have to get used to it. But, just stop making fun of me then.'

'No promises!' Vixen had a big toothy grin. She continued to float around Lance's vision the whole time, watching and listening. Even though she never had to, she wanted to be a reminder that she was there.

After a little bit of walking, and getting lost once or twice, they finally reached the building indicated on the map. The building was at least one hundred floors high. It had metal walls with glass pains that looked like they went from floor to ceiling. 'This should be it'. Lance just wanted to hurry up, get to his room, and see what he can spend his experience on.

'If you would have listened to me in the first place. AI Life-form here! Like, Duh!' Vixen was floating cross-legged with her arms around her chest, obviously glaring at Lance.

'Shush, have you ever heard of exploring?' Lance started walking up the steps to the building. Numerous large doors appeared in the front. They opened automatically as he got close, revealing a large foyer just beyond them. As he walked in, he took in his surroundings. Hanging from a high ceiling, a large chandelier hung down. It was made of different color crystals and looked very ornate and expensive. Pillars lined the walkway on either side of the building. At the far end was a huge desk, in a semi-circle fashion. On either side of the desk, rows of elevators could be seen. Several receptionists were standing behind the desk, as well as guards standing at almost every corner of the building.

Lance walks up to the desk and greets the smiling receptionist. "Hi, I'm Rene Knight, I believe you have accommodations set for me?"

"Hello, Welcome to Gal Do Hospice. Give me a moment to check our reservations." The young Galorian female receptionist types away at the computer while looking at the holographic screen. "Ah yes! We have a room set for thirty days for Mr. Knight. May I see some ID please?"

Lance opened his eyes wide, he didn't have any ID. "Umm, I don't..."

'Check your inventory dummy!' Vixen chimed in to help Lance out.

'Didn't we just talk about insulting me?' Lance quickly opened up his menu and went into the inventory. There it was, a single card-shaped item. He quickly pulled it out and it appeared in his hand out of thin air. He examined the new card and a window popped up within his view.

_______________

Item;

Identification Card.

Description: Common ID used on Galoran.

_______________

"Oh, I didn't know you had void storage ability. I'm gonna have to update this for you!" The receptionist takes his ID card and begins typing again. "Here you go, Sir." She hands his ID back to him and passes him a key card, "Take the elevator up to the 27th floor. Your room number is 2709. I hope you have a pleasant stay. And thank you for using Gal Do Hospice!"

Lance took His ID, Nodded to the receptionist, and headed towards the elevator. After pushing the button, he waited just outside the doors.

'Next time, try to hide the fact you can pull stuff from the void. That's a Mage's ability.' Vixen said it calmly to Lance, Not reprimanding him.

'I didn't know how the inventory worked. I haven't had time to play with all these features yet. Once we get to the room we can go through everything' Lance smiled toward Vixen. He was excited to see everything he can do and how things worked, but most of all, he wanted to spend his experience and become more powerful.

*Ding*

The elevator door opens and Lance walks in. He pushes the button and heads up to the 27th floor. After a short ride, they disembarked the elevator and walk down the hall toward their room. He places the key card he got in a slot on the door and it unlocks the door and he steps inside.

The room is rather large for a hotel room. Kind of a small one-bedroom apartment. There was a small kitchen with a stove, sink, and dishwasher in one corner. There is a dining table a couple of meters from the kitchen. The main room had a couch and coffee table, as well as a TV stand, but no TV. 'Must be a holographic screen' Lance thought. There is a closet right next to the door, and a mat laid for shoes. He takes his shoes off and continues to look around. To the right, there's a little hallway with 2 doors. One leads into a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a dresser. The other leads to the washroom with a huge tub, toilet, sink, and a stack of towels on a shelf.

"Wow, this is pretty nice." Now that they were alone, Lance figured he didn't have to only speak to Vixen in his head anymore. He was getting a headache from it anyway, Trying to keep his thoughts to himself.

"It is quite nice. I approve!" Vixen smiled brightly and nodded. "Go have your shower now, we will go over the menu when you're done. OH! There are new clothes in your inventory. You're welcome!" She had another toothy grin on her face with her arms crossed.

Lance just shook his head as he headed into the washroom.

"Oh god, the water was so nice, I didn't want to get out." Lance walked out in just his bathrobe, using a towel to rub his hair dry.

"You're lucky". Vixen begins to pout and has a sad look on her face. "What I wouldn't give to be able to feel the warmth of the water on me." She stayed in his vision the whole time but had her eyes closed. She imitated him, pretending to shower, and appeared in a bathrobe in his vision.

"How about we get down to business? Can you explain classes, experience, and whatnot?" Lance wanted to start getting stronger as soon as possible.

"Of course. Let's go sit in the living room and I'll explain things to you" Vixen was a little excited too. The stronger Lance got, the more likely they will survive.
