31. Crafting Is Kinda Easy With The System!

'What's wrong Lance?' Vixen could sense that Lance was conflicted. Not only that, She was worried about him.

'It's nothing. I'm just overthinking things.' He didn't believe he was, but he had no proof. Either way, he would do what he must to survive. 'Let's look into getting a phone.'

'Oh okay. Well, since you're a guard, You get one issued to you. But we can go look at some more fancy ones for personal use.' Vixen stuck out her tongue, 'Like for when you need some, sat-is-fac-tion!' She let out a loud laugh and rolled around.

'Shut up! Just lead the way will ya.' Lance was blushing but trying to hide it.

'Fine fine, I won't tease the poor little boy.' Vixen wiped away tears from her eyes. 'It's not too far from here.' She brought up the map and began leading them to the nearest store with phones.

Lance was becoming accustomed to the city, slowly learning about the shops and the layout. With Vixen leading the way, he never really had to worry about getting lost. As they walked through the streets, Lance took in the sites and looked in the windows of different shops. He made mental notes on some to come back to at a later time.

Vixen leads the pair to a high-tech shop full of cell phones. The shop had many different phones you could think of, some that were thin and clear, some thick like a brick, and even some that were just a simple watch. Lance fell on a black phone that resembled the ones back on earth. After paying for everything, the pair left and returned to their original plans.

With a new phone in hand, Lance was ready to continue his plans for the day before he called it a night. 'I wanna go see the old man before we find an armorer.' Lance wanted his new equipment. Not to show off, but to be able to survive longer.

'Okay, We still got a few hours before some shops begin to close.' Vixen liked his idea.

'I do have some experience left, I should level up Blacksmithing once before we get there.' Lance opened up the blacksmith window and added the experience.

'Good, Now maybe he will be surprised.' Lance smiled to himself as they reached old man Lokarn's shop. As usual, The door was unlocked, so Lance just walks in.

Lokarn was sitting in the back reading a piece of paper when Lance walked in. He looked over then went back to reading the note, "You're back. What do you want kid?"

Lance pulls out the Beta drops he got, "Have you ever crafted with Beta Saber Wolf stuff?" Lance had a big grin on his face when he placed the bones, claws, fangs, and hide on the counter.

Old man Lokarn lazily got up from his chair and walked to the counter. He picked up each piece and thoroughly inspected them. After checking all the materials, Lokarn scratched his chin and looked at Lance. After thinking for a bit, he spoke up, "Come with me boy." the old man opened the counter and let Lance follow him. "You craft what you need. Use whatever you need to make it."

He showed Lance around and briefly explained what he used each of the work benched for, explaining the different hammers, presses, and anvils. He also taught him quickly how the forge works, and how it could melt metals, and even showed Lance the bins full of scrap metal.

As Lance walked up to the different Tables, forges, material bin, and press, different windows popped up. He went over to the press.

All really good materials, Lance was looking through them and finally chose to make two different swords. He grabbed some Carbon, Steel, Lapis, and silver. He threw all the materials into the forge and melted them down. After the first batch was finished, he grabbed the fang dust and slowly added half of it, while mixing constantly. He skimmed the top of the mix and got the impurities out before pouring it into the ingot mold.

Lokarn was watching and was quite surprised at Lance's choice. Lokarn was a minimalist, apart from it being simple to create things, it was cheap. Either way, He was letting Lance make his own weapons and didn't want to interfere. It intrigued Lokarn how quickly Lance learned how to do everything. He didn't expect much for his first weapons, but he showed promise.

After filling the mold up, Lance went back to the material bin and grabbed steel, the last of the carbon, basalt, and silver. He melted all of them down and added the last of the fangs. He poured out the new mixture into a separate mold and moved over to the workbench.

Lance pulled out two Beta bones, two Beta claws, And one Alpha hide. He cut the hide into strips, cut the bone into handles, and drilled holes in the center. He used the cut ends of the bones to make guards, Sanded them down into the shape he wanted. And he placed the claws to the side.

While he was taking care of the hilts of the swords the ingots set. He grabbed the first one, welded a rhubarb pipe to one end, and brought it to the forge, heating the ingot to a bright red color. With the ingot on a rhubarb pipe, he takes it over to the anvil and grabs a hammer. A new window opened up.

There were a lot of different lengths of swords. Lance already knew what he wanted, He selected a Broad sword and started hammering the metal into shape. Very quickly a blade started to form.

After the shape of the sword was complete, He dipped it into the water to cool it off. Then the oil to bring out its true color. He gently wiped it down with a cloth and was impressed by how it turned out. Before going to do the next sword, he brought it over to a sander to edge the blade, then finished sharpening on a whet stone. He then dips the sword in acid for a little bit before wiping it clean and setting it on the workbench to build later.

The blade was longer than his arm. It had a bluish-tinted blade, Which turned black at certain angles. There were runic etchings, but they didn't glow like his other swords. The blade itself was a straight Broad sword.

The other ingot has finished setting. Lance takes the new one, Attaches the rhubarb pipe, and heats it. Just like before, he brings it to the anvil and selects Bastard Sword. Quickly the new sword is formed, and it looked much different from the other one.

This new one had a black and white patterned blade. The mixture of colors formed waves all along its length. Runic lettering ran down the whole length of the blade, right to the tip. It was another straight sword with two edges.

He placed both swords together on the workbench. He quite liked the look of them sitting there, But they weren't finished yet. He could already tell, these were going to replace the ones Lokarn made.
