Chapter 8

[Slightly Shorter Chapter Today]

A few days went by as I continued learning from the Grimoire and monitored the game and its progress.

In this time I have become a Tier-1 Mage and can cast 7 Tier-1 Spells before my Mana runs dry.

On the other hand, there are now over two dozen players in the game, and due to the hours the players were putting in, I now had 153 NPCs.

And with that amount of NPCs, I was able to get two games running at a time which definitely increased the number of system points I was getting an hour since not all of the players could play at once due to a singular server.

I wanted to at least get 10 games up in running before I even think about saving the points or buying something else from the system shop.

Once I got 10 games running, I would be able to open the other modes of the battle royale, such as Duos, Trios, and Squads, and could let the game run on its own without my influence.

I would update the game from time to time or create events, but that's it.

Other than that, each of the players has given me a review on Steam and has spent some time talking to each other via the Game Forum.

[IAmFr33: Has anyone else won a match and gotten a Golden Apple? What should I do? Should I eat it? Should I sell it?]

[SoldierOfChaos: Calm down, I recommend you keep the thing, if what the description said is true, then it would literally be a lifesaver]

[Old_Sage: Agreed]

[LaughingDeath: I've personally eaten it and I suggest you do the same if this apple can truly give us 24 hours to our natural lifespan then its best to use it as soon as possible so others cannot covet it]

[Three-Eyed-Dragon: How are you guys even winning? How'd you win against those monsters?! *Shudder*]

Reading through the forum as the 31 players talked to each other on the topics of the game and its currently overpowered reward, the Golden Apple, which even I was somewhat jealous of.

Switching over to the review section of the game on steam, I began reading through some of the reviews.

Comment: For anyone who has not played the game as of yet, do NOT underestimate this game due to its low price and size. Everything described in the description of the game is the truth and the reward mentioned in the game's description is real, proceed at your own discretion, and as a personal tip, keep the pain setting at 1%...]

Comment: ..I have no words for how mysterious this game is and how it was even made, let alone how it is even possible something like this is even a game and not an entirely different world from our own...]

I guess that's to be expected, after all, the game is basically another world than Earth where the players and the NPCs compete for the top.

...

With only three days now left before my second quest ends in which I had to have at least a 3-star review, I noticed that more and more people bought and downloaded my game.

I have also absorbed enough Mana to cast a single Tier-2 Spell before contracting Mana Exhaustion and passing out.

Let's say...Mana Exhaustion is not a very fun experience...

Especially the feeling of weakness that comes afterward.

Besides that, there are now 40 players that play Battle For The Top and I now had 233 NPCs and three games running.

I've unlocked the duos mode and noticed that some of the players did not like being teamed up with other players, so, I had added a function that made it to where they could choose to team up with an NPC or another player.

I found that quite a few of the Players actually decided to team with the NPCs who were much more skilled than the players seeing as they were forced to play these matches constantly and hone their skills against the other NPCs and the players continuously without a break.

[A/N: Man the more I write this the more it feels like slavery]

I was also intrigued and happy to find that some of the players were actually delving into the stories of the NPCs they were teamed up with and what they knew about the game world they were stuck in, which wasn't much since few of the NPCs actually had random background stories associated with them instead of blank slates like most of the NPCs.

[A/N: Next chapter will be an interesting one 😁]
