20 Chapter 20

[A/N: My Gums are almost healed and I have stopped bleeding in my mouth, if I am lucky my gums will be mostly healed by tomorrow, also any suggestions for the next game? Perhaps A Realistic version of Fallout 1 or Day Z(with a bigger map and more content)?]

Meanwhile back in the game.

[Your stream has crashed and stream chat has been disabled]

A simple message flashed across NetRed's Vision as he was talking to 'Ghost' an apparently new NPC to the game.

"My stream crashed again?" NetRed asked out loud.

"What?" Ghost asked looking over with a marksmen's rifle in his hands.

"Nothing, just thinking out loud."

'Why does my stream crash every time I stream Battle For The Top? Can the stream not handle the game?' NetRed questioned silently in his mind.

"We should get a move on, the storm is on the move again," NetRed told Ghost who looked back to the outside of the city to see the Red Fog moving deeper into the city and forest.

NetRed then looked at the corner of his vision to see that only 24 Participants remained in the match, including themselves.

NetRed was quite surprised that Ghost was an experienced soldier who seemed to know how to use all of the guns offered in the game to their maximum effectiveness.

For example, Ghost was equipped with a level 3 Ballistic Vest, Kar98k, and M4A1 and has already killed more than 5 participants with this gear set alone.

If anything his 'Ghost' nickname was quite fitting seeing as he moved around the forest like a ghost and killed every participant we came across with deadly efficiency.

It felt as if NetRed was just a sidekick to his partner who seemed to fit well with this game.

"Let's get a move on," Ghost told NetRed, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Right."

...

Meanwhile, in the real world, Kain frowned upon seeing that a stream he was watching of Battle For The Top suddenly crashed.

He was annoyed that the stream crashed because he finally noticed something he did not notice that has to do with the NPCs...

They were too...real.

They seemed a whole lot more real than Kain realized...they acted and thought like humans, felt pain and emotion like humans, and even had their own personalities...

With this new worrying information, Kain decided to check on his first group of NPCs and found something disturbing...

The game was making them go crazy...and he knew exactly why...

Wouldn't you go crazy if you were forced to play these matches constantly and die countless times only to be thrown into another match, then another, then another, in an infinite loop?

The first group of NPCs was almost mad from exhaustion and I couldn't help but feel Guilt since I essentially did this to them...

I needed to find a solution to this fast and luckily I had enough points to do what I had in mind.

I jumped straight into my Creator Menu and selected to create a new game.

With over 750,000 Points at my disposal, I could make anything, well almost everything.

I had so many points that I could create much larger games if I wished!

But, I need to focus on the more pressing matters at hand!

First, I started with creating a massive town with a giant forest to the east, ocean to the west, mountains to the north, and grass planes to the south.

I then built roads, homes, shops, farms, warehouses, and more.

I even went as far as to implement the Crafting mechanic into the 'game' and add a car dealership.

I added everything and anything I could to make this town as comfortable as possible before adding some finishing touches to the 'games' system to hopefully fix a couple of issues that would arise in the future, now that I was done, I spent a few hours in the game's options before I made it to where only NPCs, Invited Players and myself could join the 'game'.

The rules of the game were quite simple.

No one could fight each other unless they entered the local area, and even then the Game prevented any of the NPCs from actually dying or being crippled.

I also added an economic system and jobs.

The NPCs would actually get paid for working in other games which they could use the Points earned to buy something for themselves in this...Sanctuary.

This would grant the NPCs their well-needed rest...

...

Meanwhile back with NetRedBane and Ghost.

"DUCK!" Shouted Ghost as bullets struck the concrete cover they crouched behind.

[Congratulations 'Ghost', you have gained access to the 'Sanctuary, please feel free to enter once your match is over]

Ghost flinched from the sudden appearance of the screen but swiped it away for view later, currently, he was a little busy with the hail of bullets that were sticking the concrete cover.

[You have been granted a new feature due to your access to the Sanctuary, you can place your 'Mark' on a player]

A mark?

Suddenly a stray bullet almost hit him in the head.

Damnit!

He swiped that message away and put his full focus on the battle before him.

Suddenly both Ghost and NetRed heard the sound of a click indicating that the enemies have run out of ammo in their clips.

Both Ghost and NetRed instantly jumped up from cover and unloaded a few rounds into their enemies, killing them.

[10 Participants Remain, 6 Teams Remain]

[A/N: Do the math, 4 Duos and 2 solos]

Once they looted the corpses of their valuables they were forced to move further into the forest.

Both Ghost and NetRed were well equipped in both weapons and armor and they both had enough ammo and meds to hopefully win this game.

Not to mention Ghost was an experienced soldier who could handle probably all of the remaining participants on his lonesome.

The more NetRed talked with and fought with Ghost, the more he thought of him as a real person instead of an NPC.

And even though NetRed has only known Ghost for a little over 50 minutes, he feels he has gained a real friendship with Ghost.

"Let's do this," NetRed murmured with a smile as he rushed deeper into the forest with the nimble and ghost-like figure of Ghost.
