72 Activating Their Elemental Partner

Sitting down on the chair in the lobby, Bai Shuixian waited for Zhu Jin to come back with Duan Guiren and Lu Gang. After caressing the daffodils, she had decided to visit the village since a week had passed since she last saw them. Staying by herself for one week, she found it unnatural as she could not interact with Zhu Jin nor did she know anyone in the very crowded capital.

At first, Bai Shuixian wanted to visit Su Guang, but then she realized that she did not know where the Chen Residence was located in the capital. Even if she did manage to find the residence, they might not even allow her to come in since nobody knew that she was actually a female, not a male. The only person they thought was related to her grandmother was Xuan Yueji, but he was already asleep and she did not know how to act or behave like him.

"Master!" Duan Guiren exclaimed happily while running into the lobby with sweat dripping down his face.

"Lady Bai," Lu Gang calmly greeted with a wry smile when he saw his little brother jumping up and down.

Smiling a little upon seeing their three figures, Bai Shuixian asked, "How are you guys? Was Zhu Jin tough?"

With excitement shown in his voice, Duan Guiren answered with a big grin, "Not at all! Brother Zhu is strong and nice! Super nice! He gave us lots of food! Lots of yummy foods!"

Following Duan Guiren, Lu Gang said, "He knew what my limits were, so he did not challenge me. Though, I'm definitely much stronger than a week ago."

Nodding at the compliments, Bai Shuixian then turned to Zhu Jin and asked, "Did they manage to activate their elemental partner?"

"They've been getting along with the general cultivation, but I have no skills in helping them with elemental cultivation," Zhu Jin admitted as he rubbed his head.

"That's no problem," Bai Shuixian said. "What's their progress?"

Putting his hand down, Zhu happily remarked, "Xiao Xian, you have some golden eyes! Leave these two in my hands and I'll make sure they become legends! Hahaha!"

Showing such a happy face, Bai Shuixian knew that Duan Guiren and Lu Gang must be exceptionally talented. Zhu Jin had lived for so long and he rarely complimented humans, so it only meant that Lu Gang was not a bad person to train up either. The little boy was fated to be with her, so there were no words for him since the skies already proclaimed him to be her disciple.

"Xiao Xian, are you good at activating elements?" Zhu Jin asked, his heart skipping a beat.

"No. I only know how to utilize them to help the world," Bai Shuixian honestly admitted. "Don't forget. I can't harm humans. I can only use nature to aid mother nature."

Scratching his head once again, Zhu Jin then asked, "What about the others? Surely they know how to. Xiao Ren and Xiao Gang's talents should not go to waste. I feel that if they are able to control an element, they would become even more powerful than they are now."

Staring at the two thin figures, Bai Shuixian blinked once and quietly muttered, "Lian-ge, can you help me?"

As soon as Bai Shuixian asked that, Zhu Jin sensed the shifts of the wind. Feeling the wind shifting, he knew that Lu Lianhua was at the forefront now. This excited Zhu Jin even more as he knew for sure that Lu Lianhua would be capable of helping Duan Guiren and Lu Gang to activate their elemental partner.

However, despite Zhu Jin being happy, Duan Guiren and Lu Gang were not. They felt that for some reason, Bai Shuixian was not behaving normally. Although they were not beside her for a long time, she had a distinctive aura that made people lose their guard and willing to speak anything.

With short words, Lu Lianhua ordered while pointing his fingers, "You two, come here."

It was not a snappy voice, but it was cold. Not cold like ice, but cold like it was merely a cover. Since Duan Guiren and Lu Gang could not sense anything out of the ordinary other than the difference in aura and how Bai Shuixian talked, they listened to Lu Lianhua and walked in front of him.

Putting his hand on the middle of their forehead where the third eye can be found, he chanted an incantation. Soon, that spot started to light up and a small orb appeared in front of them. It then flew up to float right above their heads.

The orb from Duan Guiren was green and it started to spread vines around his tiny body. As for Lu Gang, his orb glowed red and it started to burn fire around his entire body. This shocked the two boys badly.

To calm them down from the shock, Lu Lianhua said, "You won't get hurt. These are your elemental partners. They will help you in the future."

In the Lang Continent, though many things were considered myths and spiritual, there were many things that were possible even without the two. Elemental partners were a secret kept by nobles and elemental controllers were a secret kept by the royal family. They were two supernatural topics that nobody was willing to disclose unless to their closest and bloodlines.

It was because of how tight they held their lips that the continent always thought magic was not possible and only mythological. However, since the secrets were barely passed down, the art and method of cultivating their elemental partner slowly and gradually became lost in history. There were only a few masters left that knew how to train someone to activate their elemental partner.

As for elemental controllers, only someone who could activate their elemental partner could actually train to become a controller. Once they advanced to a controller, they did not have to use their partner to help them manipulate nature anymore. The few people that were able to become an elemental controller also kept tight lips, but their arrogant nature were known throughout the world, leaving them vulnerable to attacks from noble clans.

However, if not for the greedy behaviors of the nobles and royalties, the continent would not know of only partners and controllers, but also elemental origins. Origins did not need to have the elements nearby in order to use it. They could create their elemental from thin air like magic and use it for whatever purpose they seek.

Lu Lianhua was able to forcefully activate the elemental partners of Duan Guiren and Lu Gang, but that was because he was not only an elemental origin. Aside from training to become a skilled elemental user, he also cultivated his spirit. This allowed him to pull out their elemental partners early on without side effects or injuries.

Soon, the vines stopped wrapping Duan Guiren and the fire stopped burning Lu Gang. The orbs that were floating above their heads came down to eye level and morphed into a ring. One ring, green, while another was red, signifying their elements.

Since he was done activating their elemental partners, Lu Lianhua asked Zhu Jin, "Do you know how to train them?"

"I'm a bit of a beginner in this aspect," Zhu Jin admitted with his face pointed down in shame.

There was nothing Zhu Jin could do. Though he was a noble in his early life and activated his elemental partner, he never managed to train to become a controller. It was not that he did not have the ability to do so, but that the time did not allow him to train to become one since he was betrayed by his closest people.

Staring at the man looking at the floor, Lu Lianhua said, "I'll leave behind a few books here. Use it to train yourself and the others. Within a year, I expect everyone to become well-attuned to their partners."

After leaving the books that he said he would, Lu Lianhua teleported back to the imperial palace. Upon doing so, he thought about Lin Dalong. He did not experience the choking that Bai Shuixian chanced upon, but he did recognize the purple eyes she saw.

Only, Lu Lianhua did not want to tell Bai Shuixian about it. She had no memories of the past, nor did she have any of the abilities she previously had. Even if they are at her side, they could not help her because their abilities were weakened as the years passed and without her being one whole piece, they could not use their skills to the maximum power like usual.

These were the private thoughts of Lu Lianhua and when he remembered somethings of the past, his eyes would flit about with pain and sadness. However, he would then shake them off as though they were nothing but a little pest. In the end, he finally let Bai Shuixian take control again after getting rid of a few things that could trigger her emotional self.
