Suspire

"Lin!" I heard Lee's voice over me as I rose from the darkness again, and the buzzing of his wings filled my ears. I did my best to move, but my hand was immediately pushed back down. 

"Don't move, Bellas said you need to stay still." Jinx's voice sounded worried and I shook my head, trying to find the strength to open my eyes. "He said there's something in you, and he's worried what will happen until he can remove it."

Something in me? I frowned at hearing her words, considering what Eve had told me. She was willing to kill Adam to protect me and my sister, but the price would be that Lucien and I had to take their place. Had she already done something to me, changed me in case that future came to pass? I didn't have the same demonic darkness the three of them had, and I couldn't help my frown.

"Evangela," I heard Bellas' voice pass through my mind even as I had the thought and I stopped trying to move or open my eyes after hearing his voice.
