Chapter 8
After explaining to Ignea what happened she seems to have realize that it was a misunderstanding from her side but Runa is still angry at her for "bullying" me. Apparently in dragon school there is some kind of anti bullying movement or something, thou I don't really care.
-What should we do now that we can't leave this place?[Seiji]
-Oh, right, well I guess it's time do despair for now![Ignea]
-What happened?[Runa]
-I have no magic and as such, no way to way to leave this place.[Seiji]
-In that case, would you like some of my mana?[Runa]
The thought of sharing mana never crossed our minds but if it's her mana we should have more than enough to teleport somewhere else.
-That's it! You're a genius Runa![Seiji]
We linked arms and she started pushing her mana into me while I channeled it into a spell, the destination I set was the capital of the Eastern Human Kingdom. At the moment I felt like there was enough mana for releasing the spell I cast it. And here we are.
-Yay, I'm finally home![Ignea]
-Where are we, big bro?[Runa]
-Just outside the wall protecting the Eastern Human Kingdom's capital. Now let's go inside.[Seiji]
-You know that you need an ID or a guild card to get inside the city, right?[Ignea]
-That won't pose any problems so let's go trough the gate.
At the gate Ignea showed the guards her ID and tried to make an explanation about us but I stopped her and pulled a pendant out of my pocket and poured some mana into it. As soon as I did that the crest on the pendant started producing a strong, blinding light and the guards let us in immediately. Ignea was also extremely surprised.
-What was that pendant?
I told her to look for herself and threw her the pendant and then she was even more shocked than before.
-Isn't this one of those symbols that the royal family gives to nobles and friends of theirs in order to be able to enter any city and be recognized?!
-Yes, it is.
-How did you get this?
-Let's just say that me and the prince are pretty good friends.
-I won't question it any further.
-Big bro...what will we do now?
-We'll stay at an inn for now and I'll go talk to the prince one of these days to see if he knows anything about the sealing of the dragon king.
-Thank you, big bro!
Ah, what a good kid.
-What are you going to do now, Ignea?
-I'll take the flower to the guild and than go have lunch with my family, do you want to come too?
-Even though we know each other for so little time, you already want to present me to your family? I didn't know you were that into me.
-Shut up.
Damn, she is so cute when she blushes.
-Well see you later in that case!
-Yeah, tonight at 6 o'clock in the city plaza!Bye!
Now let's find a place to stay, I think the inn where I stayed the last time I was here should be good. It is pretty cheap but the food is great and the staff is friendly. Also it is quite in the middle, right between the castle and the guild hall. Once we reached the inn we got a room for a couple of days and than we left for a walk. I need to talk with the prince to see if he knows anything about the incident but first I should cheer Runa up since she's been pretty sad the entire time. If I remember correctly she really likes ice cream.
-Runa, let's go and get some ice cream!
-Really?!
-Yes.
She really reminds me of my little sister when she was her age, I wonder how she is doing now. Before going to the front lines I left her at our castle to take care of things, despite her only being 15 she is quite reliable and all the people of the Demon Kingdom adore her, she is like an idol of some sort.
After getting ice cream I went with Runa to buy some clothes since my armor is quite uncomfortable to wear all the time and Runa only has a dress. When we got to the shop I got Runa a few dresses and some adventurer's equipment while I bought some simple clothes and a leather jacket, and of course all of them are black.
I wonder how tonight's dinner will go.
