After the shopping session we had today Runa was tired and so she stayed at he inn to rest. As such I came alone to the city plaza to meet with Ignea and her family, I tried dressing in fancy clothes for once since I'm meeting her parents and I don't want to leave that bad of an impression or embarrass her. It's almost 6 o'clock and I arrived first, since there is only one restaurant in the plaza I naturally went there and made sure that they have a big table for us and waited for them. While they were a tad late, they arrived finally. Ignea came with her parents and also with her two younger siblings, a boy and a girl.

-I'm sorry we are late!

-No problem. By the way you're looking great today.

She is wearing a beautiful long blue dress that really draws attention to her bright eyes and her silky blonde hair. Damn, how can she be so cute?

-By the way these are my parents.[Ignea]

-Good day sir, ma'am. I am Seiji, a friend of your daughter.[Seiji]

-Well, hello there young man, you seem like a nice guy. I am Flamea, Ignea's mother. Thank you for being friends with her.[Flamea].

-I am Ignus, her father. I'd say it's nice to meet you but that remains to be seen.

Well, I ain't no people expert but I'm sure he's the overprotective type. I sure hope he and I can get along so it won't be a pain in the ass.

-Geez, why can't you greet him properly?[Ignea & Flamea]

-That wasn't my intention....[Ignus]

And these are my younger siblings: my little brother, Idris and my little sister Ignia. Now come on say hello to Seiji, you two.

-Hello mister, big sis talked a lot about you after she came back.[Idris & Ignia]

-Is that so, thank you for the information.[Seiji]

-By the way, where is Runa?[Ignea]

-She was tired so she stayed at the inn.[Seiji]

We all ordered something to eat and made some small talk. After we finished eating me and Ignus got something to drink while the others got dessert. That's when he started the rapid fire questions so I started giving answers.

-How old are you?[Ignus]

-19 sir, and I'll be 20 by the end of the year.[Seiji]

-What's your job?[Ignus]

Since I expected this question I prepared an answer along with a little gift from an old friend that I got the last time I came here.

-I'm an adventurer, sir.[Seiji]

-Oh, the same as Ignea. Can I see your guild card?[Ignus]

-Sure.[Seiji]

Ha, last time I came to the capital I had the prince get me a guild card in case I want to do anything in the capital so he got me one. An S-class guild card since he couldn't put my real power rank on it because it would cause problems.

-S-class![Ignus]

His face became so pale it was like he saw a ghost or something.

The rest of the evening went by quickly and it became night. We all went home and I talked with Ignea to meet at the adventurer's guild tomorrow so we could handle some business.

The next day has come and I left for the adventurer's guild to see Ignea. She was waiting for me in the front.

-Yo!

-Hey Seiji. So what did you want to do today?

-I just wanted to go see if the prince knows anything about the dragon king.

-So how do we do that.

-We go talk with him, obviously.

-What? How?

-Come, we're meeting him at the palace.

After a few more questions Ignea gave up on trying to understand how come we're meeting the prince. When we got there we just walked straight trough the front doors as the guards let us. They did not know that I was the demon king but what they did know is that I'm a goon friend of the prince. He was waiting waiting for us in the palace's library.

-Hey, idiotic prince.

-Oh, long time no see useless demon king. By the way who's the beauty beside you?

-This is Ignea, an adventurer and a friend of mine.

-Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Raijin, the crown prince of this country.[Raijin]

-No, no, it's my pleasure and my honor to meet your highness. I am Ignea, a mere A-class adventurer.[Ignea]

-There's no need to be so courteous towards this idiot.[Seiji]

-It's just as the useless Seiji says, speak to my like you would to a friend, after all a friend of Seiji is a friend of mine![Raijin]

-Ok...[Ignea]

-By the way, I see you hired a new maid...but why is she sleeping on your lap?[Seiji]

-Oh, this is Kira, she fell asleep while we were reading and i decided to give her a lap pillow.[Raijin]

-I see, Ignea, could you please go to the inn and bring Runa here?[Seiji]

-Sure. But why?[Ignea].

I told her that she'll see later and gave her the pendant so she could freely go in and out of the castle.

-Now that she left, we can talk now. I need you to do me a few favors, please.

-Ok, what's it about?

-Do you know anything about the sealing of the dragon king?

-WHAT?! The dragon king was sealed? Damn, it was probably the northern empire. They suddenly waged war against the western and southern kingdoms, but to think that they would attack the dragon king. It's almost unimaginable.

-You're kidding me! If the Northern Empire has the holy sword, there is no telling what they might use it for. We should stop them as soon as possible. If you'll hunt the hero than i'll try to put as much political pressure as I can on them, but a war might be unavoidable.

-The other thing I wanted to say and the reason I sent Ignea after Runa is that the Northern Kingdom may be using fairies in battle.

-If that's true than we might have a problem since fairies have quite a great amount of mana, but what's that got to do with Ignea?

-She's also a fairy and so is her family.

-I see.

Me and Raijin continued to talk about our situation until Ignea came back with Runa, but still, is a war truly unavoidable? Why does it always have to be this way? After losing my parents in the last war, I don't want to ever lose someone dear to me again, and for my people I have to be a great king that protects them. If the worst comes to be I should probably just eradicate the empire out of existence but that would also mean to kill many innocent people just to get rid of an evil piece of shit. Damn, why does this world have to be this way?
