Chapter-93 "I did what I had to do!"
Vroom!
The military car zoomed past the forest at breakneck speed!
One would expect that such a big vehicle would make a lot of noise but contrary to this belief, the vehicle made no sound at all.
The exterior of the vehicle made it seem like a ride in this thing wouldn't be comfortable at all, but that wasn't the case!
It seems that the seats are specially designed to complement the structure of the vehicle while maximizing the comfort level inside this thing.
Everyone sat in utter silence!
After dealing with the members of [The 7-Kings], our heroes were going back to the school.
Two members of the terrorist group were killed in action; by Erik. While the others had survived after being treated by the [Medicinal King].
Erik could have surely killed the others too if he wanted, but there was no gain from exposing his strength by confronting three of the seven kings!
After all, there was no bad blood between them.
One could argue that since Erik had just killed a King's apprentice; the said King could surely seek revenge!
Unfortunately, that isn't the case here.
Tobi, or rather the [Phasing King] is as strong as a low-level [Strategic-Class Magician].
Of course! Keeping in mind that the term 'Strategic-Class' doesn't just point toward psion count or destructive power but rather an all-round ability assessment.
Naotsugu is just a peak level [Elite-Class Magician] who is unbeatable under [Strategic-Class].
Even with him being invincible within 15-meters of range, he couldn't have been able to hold back Tobi if the latter was really going all out.
Erik himself being that skilled immediately knew that something was wrong.
He used [Outer-Systematic Magic] to privy on Tobi's thoughts when he was observing the latter's peculiar magic, and found out a rather amusing plan.
Tobi knew about Erik's true strength, at least a portion of it.
His student was too obsessed with Tsukasa!
Momo would spend quite a lot of time with her lover, it affected her training under Tobi.
He was fed up with this but he didn't want his 'gentle teacher' facade to be discovered by his students.
So he came up with a plan!
He knew that Erik wouldn't let Tsukasa escape neither would Momo allow anyone to harm her lover.
So the outcome of this conflict would probably be Tsukasa's death!
He wanted to use this opportunity to influence Momo into believing that her weakness was the reason behind her lover's demise and if she became strong...
...then she would be able to exact her revenge from Erik!
Unfortunately for him, things didn't go as planned.
Erik had baited Momo into killing her lover with her own hands which made her berserk and distraught!
Using her emotional instability, Erik sliced her right arm off!
At that moment, his blade wasn't only coated with purple lightning which scorched her skin; but also the effect of [Hollow's Touch] was applied!
Sustaining such serious injuries, it was only a matter of time until Momo died!
One could argue that [Medicinal King] might have been able to save her!
But after Erik had made Momo kill her lover, she didn't have any will to continue living which just made her condition worse, eventually killing her.
With both Tsukasa and Momo dead!
All of Tobi's plans were soiled; making him flip out and send Naotsugu crashing into a tree trunk!
Erik chose to decisively retreat at that moment because he knew that Tobi was a smart man, he wouldn't actively try to exact 'vengeance' for his student...
...especially since he was well aware of the strength and the backing Erik had inherited from his company.
Anyway, back to the main scene!

Silence!
Not a sound could be heard within the military vehicle.
Most of them didn't know what to say after just witnessing their senior; mercilessly and ruthlessly chopping the terrorists as if they were vegetables!
Katsuto was busy driving the vehicle while Erik sat in the front seat with his eyes closed; trying to predict the future scenarios in his mind!
The silence was maintained for a few minutes until Erika couldn't talk it anymore and spoke up.
"Was that really necessary, Erik-nii?" (Erika)
Erika was no stranger to seeing someone killed in front of her; after all, she belonged to the Chiba Family but the way Erik cruelly crushed the enemy, didn't sit well with her.
She wasn't used to seeing this side of her sworn older brother; who has always been kind, gentle, and patient towards everyone!
"Yes and no..."
"If I were to take myself into consideration."
"It wouldn't change anything; the outcome would still be the same, irrespective of my actions."
"But, if I were to take us all into consideration."
"I would once again do what I did back there..."
"...who knows what kind of magic they could use? Not to mention that your safety was my responsibility as I was the one who allowed you first-years to join."
"In a fight to preserve your life, you must choose the most effective way."
"I am not proud of what I did but it was asked of me. I would do it again without any remorse."
"I was the leader, your lives were potentially in my hands! It was demanded of me to deliver and I did deliver."
"Sometimes, you have to do the unthinkable for others..."
"...for the greater good!" (lol)
"All of your safety was my priority, I made what I deemed as the right set of choices."
Erik explained the reason behind his actions without a sliver of remorse or regret.
His composure was as calm as ever!
While the firmness behind his words sent shivers down their spine.
Erika quieted down as she thought about the words her older brother had just spoken; seconds ago!
Even the others were actively indulging in their thoughts and different takes on the matter.
How quickly time flew by and they reached their destination; was unknown to them.

Each of them exited the military vehicle in the parking lot of the school.
"You all go and report all that had happened to Mayumi, Mari, and Suzune..." (Erik)
"...Katsuto and I, we both need to discuss a few things with the government officials." (Erik)
"Alright!" (Everyone)
Everyone left towards the school building whereas Erik and Katsuto headed towards the principal office.
Click!
Erik twisted the doorknob and entered the room along with Katsuto.
"Welcome, Mr.Saltzman, Mr.Juumonji!..." (Kazama)
"Have a seat!..." (Kazama)
In front of Erik and Katsuto, sat Major Kazama with a plain expression on his face.
He was in his military uniform and looked towards Erik with a hawk's eye!
"Please tell me what happened and make sure to not leave behind any detail, no matter how small it may seem to be!" (Kazama)
