24 Hours Of Tragedy Part I

The same day Macy told the detectives about Mia's secret investigation, they interrogated the truck driver who had been hired by Mia to bring the coffin to the park.

The driver claimed he found the coffin in Mia's driveway when he got there, he simply loaded it in the back of his truck and brought it to the park.

The next day, Giovani got in touch with Mia's parents.

After getting permission, he dragged Davenport to Mia's house later in the day, in hopes of finding something important, a notebook, fingerprints, anything.

But it was hopeless. There wasn't even a speck of blood anywhere.

The detectives were now convinced that Mia's brutal murder definitely did not happen in her house, The Slayer killed her somewhere else, brought her back here, replaced the animatronic with her corpse in the coffin and left it in the driveway for the truck driver.

But Giovani was determined to find something.

"There's no prints here or anything but remember what Macy told us. Mia probably made some notes about the killer."

Giovani looked around her room.

"How are we gonna find anything? This place is a mess!"

"I know, I think Larry and Macy were here to pick clothes or something. Leave it to teenagers to never clean up."

Giovani opened the closet while Davenport searched in the desk.

"Wait." said Giovani. "Look at this!"

He took out a laptop, or the remains of what used to be a laptop. It was completely destroyed.

STARK'S

It was silent. Macy, Paul, Izzy, Alex and Camila were sitting at a table.

Macy looked around the table.

"I know, things are tough right now, but....we have to be strong. One thing I learned from Mrs Stark is that when things are their darkest, we'll always have our family."

Little smiles started to appear.

"And I consider you guys as my second family. That's why I have to tell you about this."

She took a deep breath.

"Larry's sick and he needs to have surgery."

Everyone jumped out of their seats.

"What?!"

"Is he hurt?"

"What happened?"

"Yesterday, while picking Mia's clothes at her house, he told me he had a tumor in one of his lungs, and that he was going to have surgery today. It should be done by now, I think he's resting as we speak."

"I'll give him a visit as soon as we close." said Alex. "Not to mention I'll beat the crap out of him for not telling us."

Camila nodded. "I'll help you, why would he keep something like that from us?"

Alex ignored her question and shot out of his seat, glaring towards the door.

"You again?! I told you not to show your damn face around here!"

At the door, there was none other than the robust Daniel Clarke, with a smirk on his face.

MIA'S HOUSE

Giovani put on his gloves and examined the laptop. "Look, no hard drive. Mia did know something."

Davenport took the destroyed laptop and put it in a plastic bag. "It may not have the hard drive, it may be useless, but I plan to use it as proof in court when I catch him."

Giovani chuckled.

"You mean We?"

"Shut up, G."

Giovani kept searching as Davenport watched in confusion.

"What exactly are you looking for?"

"Maybe that laptop wasn't the only place she had her information."

"What if it's no longer here? I mean The Slayer was here, what if he found it?"

Giovani was looking through clothes in her closet when he noticed something in the pocket of a pink jacket.

He stuck his hand in and pulled out a little notebook and walked towards Davenport.

"Look at this!"

The book was filled with the names of the victims, the suspects, their possible motives, the weapons.

But there wasn't any solid information on the slayer's identity.

It didn't seem to bother the detectives though.

"Gio, this is gold! We analyze this, and it might lead us to the truth!"

He sounded very excited. Giovani was too. They left Mia's house, feeling more optimistic than ever.

STARK'S

"You're not welcome here. Get the hell out!"

Clarke rolled his eyes and stood in front their table.

"Oh, will you kids calm down? I'm just here to offer my condolences in this stunning tragedy."

The sarcasm was practically dripping from his words.

"You're the reason this whole thing started. We all know you're responsible for Silko's death." Alex crossed his arms.

"Am I? Last time I heard, it was a serial killer who bashed his head with a hammer."

"You know what I'm talking about."

Clarke laughed.

"I actually don't. Silko and I had some animosity, but it certainly wasn't that bad. Infact, I felt bad when I heard of Mrs Diaz' horrible trauma. She lost her second husband in 10 years in horrific fashion. One was shot to death, the other gets his head bashed with a sledgehammer. She must be one hell of a death magnet."

There was a collective gasp as they couldn't believe what they just heard him say.

Paul stood up and glared at Clarke, he was glassy-eyed, his jaw clenched as the circumstances of his father's death came rushing back to him.

"I can't take another minute of this, I'm out of here."

Before Camila could say anything, Paul had already stomped out.

She turned back to the smug businessman.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"

"The truth hurts, little lady. Like you telling Paul about your ex-boyfriend being in town again. You told him, didn't you?"

Camila narrowed her eyes.

"How do you know about Julian?"

Clarke chuckled.

"I'd love to stay and chat, but I have work to do."

"Just for the record, I did tell him."

Clarke shrugged. "Whatever."

Izzy watched the robust man walk out the door, shaking her head.

"That guy's a fucking sick bastard."

Camila tried to reach the door, but Macy got in her way, with her arms crossed.

"I think I deserve an explanation. Who's Julian?"

Camila put her hands on her friend's shoulders.

"I'll tell you everything, I promise. But not now, I need to find him."

She walked out of the pub to find Paul.

HOSPITAL

Larry's surgery was a success.

The tumor was out of his body and he was left to rest in the Post-Anesthetic Care Unit.

Sara was talking to the nurse on duty in the lobby when she saw Kai walking towards her, studying the clipboard in his hand.

She called out to him.

"Hey, did you check on Larry?"

He nodded.

"Yeah, I just did. He's perfectly fine and his vitals are stable."

He passed the clipboard to her so she could read it herself.

She skimmed through it.

"Excellent, now we jus-"

"Dr Sanchez!"

The nurse on duty looked up from her computer in panic.

"A patient just flatlined in the PACU! Room 3!"

Sara's blood ran cold as she bolted towards the Post Anesthetic Care Unit with Kai right next to her.

Her assistant ran ahead of her, his last words answered the question in her mind.

"Fuck! That's Larry's room!"
