The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 85:

There was a reasonable amount of space between them.

Slowly they began walking towards one another before sprinting.

Hellen was the first to strike, swiftly moving her fists, trying to hit Lyra who simply dodged them.

Hellen elbowed her stomach and while Lyra crouched, kicked her in the face making her fall.

They had just started and yet she was already losing?

Lyra did a front flip and punched Hellen on the knees and kicked her in the face while she crouched.

The two planted their feet firmly on the ground, the force was strong enough to make it crack under them.

Their punches hit the others' face simultaneously.

The power orbs in Hellen's joint caused an explosion.

Hellen was able to land on her feet but Lyra's back came in contact with a tree.

Hellen jumped in the air and hit Lyra's shoulder making her groan but dodge her other kicks and punches.

She retaliated by going for her legs. Hellen caught herself and hit her ankle, making Lyra fall to the ground.

Then she jumped in the air, wanting to punch Lyra's face but she rolled away and Hellen punched the ground instead.

It's a good thing she dodged as well because it would have seriously damaged her.

Swiftly, she got on her feet, landing a kick on Hellen's hip and ear, disorienting her.

There was a ringing that went on as she tried to collect herself.

Lyra then used the opportunity to grab her and fling her through some trees.

When she saw her opponent down, she took off running but Hellen didn't let her come close.

She sent three balls of fire at her direction but she dodged her best, not allowing it touch her skin.

They both seemed evenly matched at this point and quick on their feet.

There were wounds on both their bodies but both swallowed their pain and continued the fight.

Although, Hellen seemed to heal faster and better because of the orbs in her body.

That's where all the power came from.

She dodged all of Lyra's sloppy attempts of an attack with ease; landing one or two on her with double amount of force.

"THAT'S IT!" she growled, feeling power rush though her upper arms and charged towards her weak enemy.

Kicking her head and stomach.

Lyra thought she had dodged and almost landed Hellen a slap on the face if she hadn't punched her stomach with everything she had, gave her an uppercut with the same force and used two hands to push her far away.

Lyra went flying before scrubbing the ground.

When she came to a stop, she tried getting up but an unsettling feeling from the pit of her stomach made her cough blood.

The metallic taste was strong and she couldn't see clearly because Hellen's blood was over her eyes.

She tried getting up but staggered to the left and to the right before finally regaining balance.

She felt hopeless.

She felt like she had lost the war and was ready to give up.

It would be better if they call it quits and live to fight another day.

"if you don't end this now, there won't be a world to protect once Hellen is through with it! Focus…you're almost there. I know this isn't easy but you have to keep pushing…try harder" her mother encouraged.

She didn't have a choice but to finish this battle today; once and for all.

Though her sight was messed up, her hearing wasn't.

Lyra inhaled deeply, taking in the air and listening carefully.

She had a plan but wasn't sure if it was going to work.

Yet she had to try.

With open arms, she signaled her foe to take the first hit which she happily obliged to.

Hellen came with much power and made the ground vibrate as she tried her best to land a hit on Lyra but she dodged with such grace.

Then out of nowhere, Lyra elbowed her ribs and twisted her elbow the sound of bone cracking filled the air, forcing a magic orb to fly out.

Before Hellen could understand what had happened, she was pushed away and watch the orb fall and Lyra catch it.

She felt much better and stronger, so strong as she punched the ground and it quaked underneath them.

This was going to turn out bad for Hellen if she didn't stop Lyra but she was already too powerful.

Sounds of thunder filler her ears as she tried to block and come closer to her opponent but that was a mistake.

Her arm was held in a firm grip; then she was flipped to the floor and Lyra kicked her shoulder, cracking it in the process, forcing another orb out.

The pain was almost too much to bear and losing the orbs would make her weaker.

She had to keep trying.

The orb bounced around before Lyra gracefully caught it and neared Hellen.

She tried defending herself with three swift kicks but was cut by a hit to her chest and several quick punches around her torso.

Her ribs cracked and an orb fell out.

Lyra didn't bother picking them up as she continued to punch and bruise Hellen who was unfortunately cornered with a tree behind her, thus preventing her escape.

The sounds of bone cracking and harsh skin to skin contact could be heard for miles.

Lyra had become heartless and transferred all her aggression on Hellen.

All her pain, grief and anger.

Her humanity was slipping away; she could feel her demonic sixth sense take over.

More and more orbs kept flying out of her body, making her weaker by the second.

Her hands tried to shield her torso but they weren't strong enough.

Hellen was fortunate to slip away but when she turned around, Lyra wasn't there.

Panic filled her as she searched her surroundings for Lyra.

Just as she was about turning to her right, Lyra came from behind and hit her spine, making the rest of the orbs fall out and threw her body aside.

Hellen's injuries were serious and needed attention but from where?

All her power was gone and she hadn't felt so weak in all her life.

She began coughing up blood.

That was all she could smell.

Most of it was from her due to the heavy beat down she had taken.

The sound of slow yet determined footsteps were all she could hear. Slowly, she rose her head up and saw a monster approach.

It was Lyra using her demonic sixth sense.

She wasn't herself anymore.

All traces of humanity seemed to had vanished as her eyes were pitch black.

Even demons didn't look as scary as she was right now.

The one feeling she hadn't felt in a while came over her.

Terror.

She began shaking on the spot as Lyra got closer and closer, not knowing what would happen next.

"p-please have mercy" she bowed her head; silently pleading.

Though Lyra looked very intimidating, she was just as confused and scared.

If to kill Hellen or not.

She did some despicable things but that didn't mean she doesn't deserve to die.

Yet she could never be fully trusted.

What was she to do?

Her brain told her to kill Hellen and be done with it but her heart told her not to do such.

"I'm not going to kill you. I don't have enough anger to do so-"

"BUT I DO!" Jackie came from nowhere and passed a sword through her chest, and her heart was on the tip of it still beating but barely.

It was done!

The hardest part as over.

They could all put it behind them.

They stood there for several seconds before Lyra ran to where she left Cyrus and instantly began healing him.

"thank you" he said weakly with a smile on his face.
