The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 86:

Lyra's POV:

"death has always been a mystery to all creatures. To some it enchants, to others is a cause for fear and to the remaining few, it entails beauty. Death is depicted as a lone rider who is out to destroy. But death can also be seen as a beautiful maiden in her prime. As beautiful as the moon lit sky with stars to compliment her gestures. She comes at the fairest hours, in peaceful times, in havoc and whenever she pleases. She can be cunning at times when having a direct conversation with her closest friend 'life' enchanting one with her beauty and luring one into the comfort of her arms. Who would resist a maiden so beautiful and assuring when life has pushed you to a breaking point? The end of the line and over the edge. Now I wonder to myself if she will remain a mystery to me; to all of us who fought and lived after crossing paths with her. We've suffered heavy losses. Our friends, our brothers, our family to the cruel fate of battle but their deaths aren't in vain! Today, we have come out victorious. I know there are still somethings to work out but I shall do my best to straighten them" I sat and bowed my head.

Behind me stood an elderly man who held a beautiful crown.

The crown fit for the Khamatu.

It was my mothers' before me.

"all hail Lyra, the Khamatu" and everyone cheered.

After everything I've done; this was the least the people could do.

The demons had been forcefully relocated to their own world.

The demon king named their new world after his fiancée...Hell.

Everyone was taking a sigh of relief and my coronation was like no other.

The people really went all out.

Everyone was having a good time and enjoying themselves.

Everyone except Jackie, she was trying her best but anyone with eyes could see that she was upset.

It's been three months since the whole war had happened.

She was still trying to come to grips with his death and how she was going to take care of her child.

Yes, she fought with a child in her womb.

After forcefully admitting she was pregnant, Darya had to help heal her so the child won't die.

It was miraculous that they both survived.

She had spending time on the bridge of souls just to see him again.

She would cry her eyes out wishing it wouldn't end that way.

I had spoken to her on the bridge and try to comfort ourselves.

"you can't keep coming her forever. Do you think he would want you to keep coming here? I know it hurts; his death shook us all but you'll have to let go. Just try and be happy" I knew nothing I said would make her feel better but Sam wouldn't want her to mope like this.

"do it for him…please?" I gently nudged her and she nodded.

She was trying to talk to as many people as she could at the dinner party.

"you're lost in thought again" Cyrus gently nudged me and I laughed partially.

He was doing alright though he wasn't 100% alright but he was getting better.

"how's the arm doing?" worry spread across my face like a reaction.

"it's doing pretty well; thanks for asking"

"the words 'thank you' will never seem enough for what you did but I honestly don't know what else to say-"

"you don't need to say anything. No matter how insane or dangerous things get I'll always follow you into battle. I've got your back and I always will"

"I don't think I could have handled losing you and Sam on the same day" I forcefully had to blink the tears away.

Today is meant to be a happy day and we were meant to enjoy it.

"so? What are we going to do now that our biggest trial is over?" Imogen asked as she, Tamar, Rayhan, Jackie and Eri approached us.

"I don't think I could abandon this world. With Darya moving to Blacklake, this world is going to need a top witch to protect it. And Rayhan has to stay here to rule" they intertwined fingers and he kissed her cheek.

They were a lot of weddings to happen soon.

Tamar and Imogen; Eri and Rayhan and Darya and Javan.

We all still debated if to have them on the same day or not.

I'm not bothered about getting married yet.

There's still so much to be done.

I haven't even decided where I'm going to say.

Though it wouldn't be fair to leave Cyrus and as horrible as it was; Redlake will forever remain my home.

"once we get married, we could travel the world. I've always wanted to see what the light kingdom is like" Tamar smirked.

"I honestly don't know what 'm going to do with my life yet" Jackie shrugged casually.

"maybe you should stay here for a while until you give birth to your baby before deciding on what next" Eri suggested.

"what are you seven doing there? It's time to party" the king and queen came over with glasses in their hands.

We should listen to them and enjoy ourselves.

An opportunity like this doesn't happen often for our little gang.

...…..............…

"you seemed to have enjoyed yourself" Cyrus smiled, sitting on the bed while I closed the door.

After that day; I had volunteered to be his personal servant.

It's the least I could do after everything he's been through.

It's quite ironic.

I can remember when this felt like a punishment or a curse but now, I can't imagine myself serving anyone else.

"we all did. You dancing with Yura is something white memorable" he laughed but groaned soon after holding his sides.

Some of his ribs were still cracked and healing as fast as they could.

He didn't want us to speed up the process because he wasn't in a rush.

"don't make me laugh" his laughter died slowly as I walked up to him.

"here; let me help you with that" I knelt in front of him and began undoing his buttons.

No matter how many times I do this, my hands always shake.

I finally finished them and helped him slide out of the shirt.

The upper part of his body was covered with bandages.

I began to feel bad again.

His huge hands cupped the sides of my cheek and made me look into his forest green eyes.

"I've told you time without number. I don't regret my actions so don't feel bad about them…alright?"

He leaned closer and his soft lips met with mine.

The feeling of our mouths intertwined will never get old and I will never fully get used to it.

I found myself leaning closer and wanting more from him to the point that I sat on his lap and felt his hands caress the shoulder of my dress.

It had happened before.

Out of instincts, I pulled away, both of us gasping for air.

"I would never force you to do something you don't want to. I won't make that mistake again" his hands slowly left my body but I caught them just in time.

I don't know what came over me but I wanted to feel his skin against mine.

I placed his firm hand on my breast, all while looking into his eyes.

Cyrus was still debating everything but I gave him a reassuring smile. It's ok; this was what I wanted.

I'm ready.

He gently held my waist and made me straddle him, all the while planting soft and tender kisses on my neck.

His rough hands once again touched the shoulders of by dress and slowly pulled them down.

It tingled as the dress came off and exposed the top half of my body.

He didn't say anything; he only stared. I began to feel self-conscious.

Asides the girls, no man had ever seen me naked before; asides my training gear; nothing so it spiked up my nerves.

"they're beautiful" his feather like touch moved around my areola.

My head tilted backwards.

This feeling was totally new.

"I know this is your first time so I'm going to make this special for you" he grinned and gently flipped me over so my back was on the bed.

Finally going to give y'all what you've been waiting for. Now I can sleep well at night. You're welcome.
