53. Talk

Rei woke up feeling completely energized again, he took his phone and saw the time was already past 6. He checked and saw 3 missed calls from Shirogana when he was sleeping. He immediately dialed back to check what Shirogana wanted so urgently.

The phone was answered almost immediately and Shirogana's voice came from the other side, "Hey Rei. what happened why didn't you lift the call."

"I was asleep Oji-san, I woke just now and saw your missed calls"

"It's ok then. Narumi told me something earlier today that you could play baseball again. Is it true Rei?"

Figuring out what Shirogana was asking Rei smiled and answered, "Yes Oji-san, Today I went and played with Izumi and I could play again now."

"That is good Rei. I am glad for you. I heard from Sora that you want to train again, is that true?"

"Yes Oji-san, I want to train again."

"That's good I will be there in 2 days and we can start your training alright."

"Thanks, Oji-san."

"And by the way Rei, go meet Jim like Narumi said it would not be bad if you do."

"Ok Oji-san."

Both of them continued to talk for a while about Shirogana's games and also about Rei's training. After talking for a while Rei ended the call and sat on his chair. He opened his books to do some homework but he couldn't concentrate on it. Feeling helpless he closed the books and went to the hall.

Reaching he saw Shidou, Meiko, and Sora sitting and watching a movie. He sat together with them as he had no work to do.

Seeing him sitting down Meiko turned towards him and exclaimed, "Is what Sora saying true Rei. You can play again." hearing her even Shidou turned to hear Rei's answer.

Rei could only nod making both of them happy. Meiko smiled and congratulated him, "That is good Rei. Now you can play baseball with us."

Shidou only patted him and said, "Good luck, Rei."

Sora turned towards Meiko and said, "See what I said is true. Now your pocket money is mine for one week."

Rei could only smile at their bet and do nothing else. He got habituated with both of them constantly betting on things.

Meiko could only grumble and say, "Alright now see the movie." turning her attention towards the television. All three of them continued to watch the movie in silence and enjoy it.

Completing the movie, Shidou went out of the room and the three kids started to talk with each other.

"Rei you are a catcher right," asked Sora

"Yes"

"You are lucky then, Otou-san will train you," said Meiko.

"Yes, he said he will come in 2 days and help me with the training."

All three of them continued to talk about Rei's training while Meiko had a doubt, "Rei are you going to join Kazi Senior."

Listening to the question Rei thinks for some time. He replies, "No I will join the school team. If I join your team I will probably not get any chance to play. The school team is also now missing a catcher."

Even though Rei never cared about the school baseball team he always hears matters about them from others. He got to know that the only catcher in the team is now graduating and they don't have any now.

Hearing him both of them only nodded as they also realized it is true. If Rei joins he would not be able to join the team as he is lacking in his training and would at most be on the bench the whole season. But if he joins the school team which lacks a catcher at the moment he would be able to get some experience.

Narumi comes inside the hall and informs all three of them to come for dinner. Sitting down on the chairs they start eating. After eating, Rei stayed back to help Narumi while the rest had gone back to their rooms.

Helping her, Narumi said, "Tomorrow after breakfast we will go to doctor Jim. Is that ok, Rei."

Rei only nods and continues to help her wash the dishes. Completing the task he goes back to his room and texts his friends for some time. Talking to them makes Rei happy. He could always rely on them for any problems.

After some time he keeps the phone aside and drifts off to sleep.

*NEXT DAY*

Coming out of the bath and completing his jog for the day gave a refreshing feeling to Rei like always. He goes towards the dining hall and sis down to have breakfast with everyone already present and waiting.

After eating, Narumi leaves the dishes to Meiko and gets changed to go meet the doctor. Coming down both of them get into the car and drive towards the clinic. While driving Narumi faced Rei and said, "Tell him everything Rei. We do not know when the panic would arise again."

Hearing her concern Rei felt happy but he could not tell that he had a feeling the panic would arise again, so he only nods. Reaching the clinic both of them go inside and the receptionist tells them the doctor is waiting for them.

Narumi sits out like always and Rei goes inside. Entering Rei doesn't disturb Jim who was reading some documents and sits across the man. Waiting patiently he looks around and notices nothing changed.

Jim keeps the documents down and keeps his glasses aside. He smiles, noticing Rei and asks him, "How are you Rei? Do you want a glass of water?"

Rei clears his throat and answers back, "I am fine Dr.Tenga. Water would be nice, thank you."

Jim gets up and fetches a glass of water for Rei to drink, giving it to him. Taking a sip of water, Rei keeps the glass back down. He looks toward Jim with a smile.

Seeing him ready Jim takes his regular notepad and gets ready to take down notes.
