The Counselor

I should break that silence which fell between us, that one which only sparked the tension in the room, but I was found gaping at the young man away, watching the delight which rushed to his gaze. In there was a haze of glee. One which mocked me, one that said, 'I know how well I've gotten you, and it would be unwise to turn away now' How those eyes scrutinized my form, Lord! Mouth was found turning dry, the tensity and anticipation coursing through every vein in me, building up so bad, and coming to burst up right in my chest. Those eyes were ravenous on my form, pulling mine so well, and I could tell you, my own eyes faltered, warmth rushing to every part of my being, and in a second, he brought his lips to mine, body freezing under his hold. It was a like a rush of breeze had snapped past me, with my legs found numb, I swallowed hard at the touch of the young man. I was tossed in a state of shock, left completely bewildered at what was happening, but more so, dumbfounded that I gave no resists to his actions. His lips remained light on mine, waiting for me to give entrance for his to settle in, and in a moment, they pushed in, sending every heat to my body. It came to last for as long as a minute was, our lips moving in sync, and only at that instant when his hands reached for my thighs, had I pushed him off at once, coming to realize what was enfolding. The silence that passed, gave enough volume to sound of our breaths and pants. While the young man away remained watching me, I avoided that scrutiny of his, hands adjusting my clothing. "Leave, Logan" My breath was low, voice heavy. No utterance was emitted from him. Those eyes only contracted on my form, watching as I brought my gaze to his. "Leave" I called yet again. "And let it be known that this will be our last counseling session" I dropped those words, right before moving away from him, meanwhile, I just could feel that scrutiny lingering on me.

The sound of my heels echoed through the halls, figure pushing on, as I dashed towards the block where the office of the principal laid.

One could make out the questioning eyes of students as I hurried past them, all onlooking my form like I had gone mad.

Perhaps, I have.

Mad enough to know when someone laid in danger and had to be given enough help, as immediate as it could be rendered.

It happened five years ago. With Susi, except then, I didn't have a degree backing up my speculations. There was no hold to make her mother believe me, when I stormed into her home that evening, telling her that her daughter had to be put under watchful eyes.

In fact, I was issued a warning, more of a threat, stating that if I was to step foot anywhere close to their home, I would be arrested.

But eventually I did. Several times after Susi's body was recovered from our dormitory, and taken away.

They finally let me come in to pay my respects, and even though some still believed I was mad, others thought to pay little attention to me.

That signage which rested on that oak door, which affirmed the office of the principal, pulled me even nearer, and with double taps on the door, I pushed my way in, coming to behold the lady sat away.

"He needs professional help"

I had hurried to the principal's office, mind refusing to turn back on helping that young man.

He was broken.

Broken beyond repair, and all that was left was him being attended to by someone who could perhaps cope with that pain that hovered around him.

"Excuse me?" Questioning eyes soon took my form, shifting to the door I had managed to leave ajar, and with a weak sigh pouring out her lips, she turned to me.

"Please ensure to always have the door closed behind you" She called. "And what is this you speak of?"

"Logan needs help. Professional, every other help, but that young man needs to be attended to" I clarified better, reaching to shut the door.

"If I'm not mistaken, you hold a degree to Psychology and human services, Miss Sangretti. What other professional help is required?"

"Someone who could bond with him....This is deeper than you think" I followed at once.

"He lost his brother, for Christ's sakes!" I cried.

"That was years ago" Principal McKenna followed immediately. "I believe that's not the reason for his unruly behavior"

"One never really gets over grieving, Principal. Especially when it's of family"

"What are you trying to say, Miss Sangretti? That you can't help him?" Her eyes were laced with a look of bafflement, gaze taking shifting through my form.

"I can't assist the school with preying on that poor young man"

"Logan Marshall is far from the sweetness you assume him to be. If anything, we've received every consent to evaluate and so much as brush him up"

She let out a sigh, figure soon tearing out of the seat as she made her way over to me.

"Miss Sangretti" Her voice was calm, soft eyes skimming my profile.

"The reason we employed you was to help our students. Yeah?"

"You will help him out, or you'd rather have us expel the kid, if it comes to that"

Putting down one already bruised, was as concerning as adding fuel to a blazing fire. It never calmed it down.

What they should be after was taking this kid to a center where he would be kept under watchful eyes. It shouldn't come to him killing someone first, before they consider putting him into rehab.

"And I'll have you fired, the next time you refuse doing what you put down as your best practice on your résumé" That utterance was low.

But yet again, I am the crazy one.
