Tower Preparations Part 1
Li Xuehua, Shen, and Mei Ling entered the library, clutching their tower information books provided by the teachers. As they perused the aisles of books, Li Xuehua couldn't help but find the teaching method of Wulong Academy peculiar. Unlike her previous life in the orphanage, where training began immediately, here they were left to their own devices for the first three months.
Li Xuehua's mind wandered back to her past, where she was consumed by hatred and focused solely on her training. There were no friends in those days, only her burning desire for revenge against the trolls who had taken her parents' lives. But now, as she observed Shen and Mei Ling talking and laughing together, she realized she had friends. Her heart felt warm and a genuine smile graced her small, lovely face.
Mei Dong had been in the library, quietly observing them from the moment they entered. His heart skipped a beat when he saw Li Xuehua's smile, though he couldn't understand his own reaction. Shaking off his confusion, he called his sister over.
"Mei Ling, come here," Mei Dong beckoned.
Li Xuehua, Shen, and Mei Ling approached Mei Dong, their footsteps echoing softly in the library's hushed atmosphere. Li Xuehua greeted Mei Dong respectfully, her voice filled with politeness and admiration.
Li Xuehua: "Older brother Mei Dong, it is an honor to meet you."
Shen also greeted Mei Dong with a respectful nod, acknowledging the older boy's presence.
Mei Ling eagerly placed her tower book in front of Mei Dong, seeking his assistance.
"Brother, we will be entering the tower in three months. Can you offer us guidance?" Mei Ling asked, her eyes brimming with hope.
Mei Dong's expression turned somber, and he replied with a touch of regret in his voice, "I'm sorry, but as your senior, I am not allowed to directly assist you in passing the towers. Each of you must rely on your own strength."
Mei Ling huffed playfully, picking up her tower book and gathering Li Xuehua and Shen.
Mei Ling: "Oh well, no worries, brother! We'll show you what we're capable of! Let's head to the other side of the library."
With a mischievous grin, Mei Ling led the way, Li Xuehua and Shen in tow. Mei Dong watched them go, shrugging his shoulders and returning to his own studies.
Li Xuehua, catching Mei Dong's disappointment, offered him some comforting words.
Li Xuehua: "Don't be disheartened, Mei Dong. Master Zhou emphasized the importance of passing the tower through our own strength. I'm sure your guidance would have been valuable, but Mei Ling is just teasing you. We understand the rules."
Mei Ling chimed in, laughter dancing in her voice, "That's right, brother! No hard feelings. We'll make you proud in the tower!"
As they settled into their chosen spot in the library, Li Xuehua, Mei Ling, and Shen immersed themselves in their studies, eagerly devouring the knowledge within their tower books. The anticipation and determination grew within their hearts, each of them driven to face the challenges that awaited them in the sacred tower.
