Chapter 5

Yvonne stared at the live intensely, as her brain couldn't comprehend what she just saw. Her hands trembled as she held the phone.

"Is anything wrong?" Dennis asked as he saw her expression through the rear mirror.

She took a moment to collect herself, removing her hands from her mouth.

"I am fine," she responded, as she attempted to conceal her emotions.

"You sure?"

"Yes, continue driving."

She puts her arm on the car window as she closes her eyes, tears flowing.

[Flashback]

"How can you be so stupid to buy something like that for your mother?" young Yvonne's father yelled.

Young Yvonne was in the living room and was shedding tears so heavily.

"Why are you crying when you kill your mom yourself?" Her father stood up from his chair and threw a shoe at her.

"I did not know," she kneels down as she is rubbing her hands together. "I did not know."

"You did not know?"

Her father approached her.

Gripping her shoulder forcefully, he shook her violently. "Just so you know, you killed your mother; YOU KILLED MY WIFE, you useless child." He shook her shoulder violently.

"I am sorry, dad," she whimpered.

[Flashback ends]

Her phone rang and she looked at the screen to see that it was Helen. She cut the call and texted her, "I will call you back. I need to recollect my thoughts."

Why would she remember those thoughts? Even though she was never close to Nadia, she was a very good actress.

But...

Why did Nadia hate her in the first place, even in her death, trying to implicate Yvonne?

Yvonne's phone beeps, thinking it was Helen who texted her, but it was the stranger who texted her before about Javier.

"Nadia committed suicide not because of you, but because of your husband."

Yvonne widened in shock as she received the message. She called the number, but as expected, the person did not pick it up.

She deleted the number quickly and put her phone away from her.

As Dennis was driving, he received a message about Nadia's suicide, which shocked him a lot.

Thirty minutes later, they arrived home.

Yvonne did not say anything as she passed Javier on her way to her room.

"What happened to her?" he said to Dennis as he watched her go to her room.

"I don't know," he said, while he took Javier outside of the house. "Nadia committed suicide, and based on what I heard from the guys, she implicated Yvonne,"

"She is really bent on making me pissed off even when she died," he said, while he put his hand on his waist.

"What should I do?"

"Right now, look for Yvonne's grandfather." Javier urged

"Yvonne grandfather? Is that not looking for a needle in a haystack?" Dennis questioned.

They have been looking for her grandfather, and he never shows up, so how will he look for him when he is hiding at all costs?

"We need to find him urgently," Javier asserted.

"We have been looking for him for years, and he never shows up even to his own granddaughter." Dennis said, as he was frustrated by that man.

He was very tired of looking for him since he never showed up.

"We have to use a bait for him to come," Javier continued. His mind was formulating a plan.

"What bait?"

"Yvonne."

Dennis couldn't believe what he just said. How could he want to use her to find him? What if he never shows up?

"Why will you use her?"

"If he cares about her, he will show himself."

"Are you out of your mind? You are willing to put her in danger just to find him."

Dennis was shocked by the words that were coming out of Javier's mouth.

"I will be at the side to protect her."

"You are willing to use a girl who has been married to you for three years just for your goal."

"You are acting as if I am sending her to her death," he said, as he lightly hit him.

"Yes, you are. What if something goes wrong and you do not protect her on time?" Dennis pressed on.

"Do you think I will send her there without preparing very well?" Javier retorted.

"If I love someone, I will never use that person, even if I have a high chance of winning," he said as he walked to his car. He then stood and said while looking at Javier, "Of course, how can I forget you don't love her but instead use her as a placeholder for Faith?"

"I don't want to argue with you; will you do it or not?" Javier was getting a little irritated.

Dennis went back to him and sighed.

"What is your plan?"

After the discussion, Javier went to Yvonne's room and, as she lay down with a blanket on, said, "We are going to the hospital tomorrow."

Yvonne faced him. Her face was filled with questions to ask him, but she decided not to ask him. The message from the strange lady weighs in on her mind, and she couldn't get it out. She doesn't even know what to do.

She nodded.

There was no point in disagreeing with him because he would force her to do it. This is also good since she needs to go to the hospital for her pregnancy. It has been days, and she has never gone to the hospital.

"Did you see the video? Don't worry about it; I will make sure your image doesn't get tarnished."

Yvonne kept quiet.

"Aren't you going to talk to me?" he said, while he removed the blankets.

"I will talk to you when you have agreed on the divorce," she says, as she covers herself with the blanket again.

"When will you stop talking about the divorce? What do you want from me exactly?"

She kept quiet again and put on her earpods as she played music.

He sighed and closed the door as he walked out.

The next day, they went to the hospital. The drive was quiet all the way. On her way, she received a text message from the number.

"Go to the obgyn; once you get to the hospital, I will delay him for you."

"Who are you?" Yvonne typed as her hand trembled.

"You will find out, but not now."

The person texted and then sent a picture of a golden necklace. The necklace her sister always wears and never leaves it.
