Chapter 4 - Unexpected Turns

"You want to see your sister?" he asked, his voice getting serious.

"Did I put water in my mouth to say it?" Yvonne replied.

"If that will make you eat, I don't mind," he sighed.

"I don't want to eat that food; make me a new one," she demanded as she pointed at the food that was on the tray.

"What do you want to eat?" he asked. "I will ask the maid to make it."

"I want you to make the food."

Ever since they got married, he has always avoided the kitchen and always let Jenny cook. Before her sister died, he would always cook, so she knew he was a good cook. She never realized until now why he hadn't cooked for three years.

"Fine! If that is what you want, I will do it, but only this time," he agreed, irritation shown in his face. "So, what do you want to eat?"

Is he really going to make it? She wondered. She never expects him to cook since he hasn't done it in three years, or is he doing it because of the divorce issue? Yvonne has always liked his cooking, but she was not sure how to ask him to cook since she missed it. But why, out of all this time?

"Pepper soup."

He nodded and headed to the kitchen to start making it. Yvonne took a shower and changed while waiting for the food. She was eager to leave as soon as possible. There are so many things she wants to do, and she will use the time to see her sister to do them.

Forty-five minutes later, he brought the food to her on a tray. She took a bite of it, and the taste was phenomenal, like last time.

She tried to hide the love of the soup from him, but Javier could see through it.

After she finished eating, she took her small bag with her, preparing to leave, when Javier stopped her by holding her hand.

"Dennis," he called his driver, who was in the living room waiting for him. Dennis hurriedly came upstairs to the room.

"You will go with her to meet her sister."

Yvonne looked at him while her eyes widened in surprise. "What are you talking about?"

"There are going to be some changes from now on," he said while putting his hands on his waist. "If you are going out, you will always have him with you. You are never allowed to go out alone."

"Why do I have to have him around?" she asked as she removed her hand from his.

"There is no compromise. If you won't allow him, then stay home." He continued, "There is no two-way about it."

"I am going to see my sister; why should I have him around? You are not answering my question."

"See your sister; he won't disturb you," he chuckled. "He will give you space, but apart from that, he will always follow you."

"This is riduculous."

She was not expecting this. Is he trying to watch her or what? This was not what she bargained for.

"It is your choice; stay home or let him follow you."

"You can't keep me here. We will get divorced sooner or later. Mark my words."

He grabbed her by the waist, and his face was very close to her while Dennis turned around. She could feel his breath.

"Mark my words also; except I die, I won't let go of you." He speaks slowly.

She pushed him away from him and walked out with Dennis trailing behind her.

The drive was extremely quiet. She put on her earpods to listen to music.

She laid her head on the car chair and was yawning.

"Why are you staring at me? Is there something on my face?" Yvonne inquired as she caught Dennis glancing at her through the front mirror.

"No, I am sorry."

Yvonne wondered if she could trust him since he had been staring at her through the mirror for the whole ride. She held her bag in her hand tightly and wasn't sleepy any longer.

They arrived at the burial site. He opened the car door for Yvonne.

"Stay here."

"Okay."

He stepped back, and Yvonne went inside to the graveyard.

"Long time, sis," she said. "I hope you won't get offended; I didn't get you anything," she bent down as she touched her sister's grave.

"You left me alone with that monster of a dad and let me deal with those people." She continued, "You see, grandpa has not been found since you died. I don't know where he went. I tried looking for him, but he seems to be running away from me. He must have missed you so much, since you are his favorite."

Tears rose up in Yvonne's as she poured out her feelings to the grave, and her voice started to crack. "I wish you were here so I could get angry with you for making such silly promises to Javier, but..." she paused, the tears now falling freely. "You are not here, so I can't get angry at you; if not, I will be called selfish."

Yvonne stayed there for two hours before leaving. She dried the tears from her eyes and walked to the car where Dennis was. As she entered the car, her phone rang, and Helen's number was shown on the screen. She picked up the call.

"Nadia went live on Instagram; look at it."

"Okay."

Yvonne entered the live, and there was Nadia standing.

"Thank you very much, my fans, for hyping me up so much in all of my dramas. I really appreciate it, but right now my life is ruined thanks to Yvonne. She is the reason why I am taking this drastic decision; it is no one else's fault but her."

She bows down and smiles at the camera before jumping down from the high building. Yvonne uses her hand to cover her mouth.
