Chapter 2

They have finally passed the thick forest and moments later, the three of them reached the castle where Alpha Conri resides. It was originally beige in color but as time has passed, it has turned gray because of the dust and the slow withering of the place. However, the garden is still in its green and healthy image, in contrast to the castle where the Alpha is living in.

The trio inside the car are all just breathing and taking a glance at each other except for Cailean, who was still feeling and being comfortable in the leather and soft chair of the car. She let her hands travel on the different parts of the vehicle and was amused at the satisfying roughness of its parts. She let herself be lost and comfortable with its touches until she felt a big hand rough to touch by the left side, and she retracted her hand to her chest.

It was Beta Farkas' hand resting on the brake.

"I…I'm sorry," she apologized, stuttering and was flustered with what she just did and gulped, settling back to her seat, and feeling it get warm while wishing that the ground would just swallow her up.

The Beta, on the other hand, looked at the Alpha who silently raised his eyebrow at him. Alpha Conri just crossed his arm to the awkwardness and the silence and coughed, motioning his subordinate to just drive and go inside the castle. They parked in front of the castle and the Beta first opened the door for the Alpha then went the other way and opened the door for their blind woman.

Cailean heard the opening of the door to her right and then felt the warm and comfortable feeling of the air touching her skin as it was being replaced by the cold air of the car. Her arm was being dragged once again and she could not do anything but follow them, fearing that the Alpha – her mate, will just hurt her without any hesitation.

She heard another creaking of a door and Cailean was forced to sit on a wooden chair, she just froze there, thinking and assessing the place where she is at while feeling the softness of a rug touching the soles of her feet.

"You can leave us." Alpha Conri ordered Beta Farkas. The Beta bowed down and bid his goodbye, then slowly closed the door until it silently snapped in its knob.

When Cailean has finally heard that there are only two of them in the room, she finally breaks the silence between them while still looking down, using her hearing to hear that the Alpha is breathing calmly as opposed to her tense rhythm.

"Where am I? Who are you?" Cailean asked him.

Alpha Conri smirked and leaned forward, with his arms resting on his thighs, looking at the woman before him, "If I remember correctly, I am supposed to ask you that kind of question."

There was another wave of silence that followed. Sighing, he stood up and decided to approach her, then noticed that the wound on her foot started to bleed further. He wants to help her, but the Alpha must know first who this woman in front of her is and what she is doing inside his territory before healing her.

Meanwhile, Cailean felt the strong scent of the man and she assumed that he was already in front of her. She bowed her head down further. Even though she is blind, she could feel that the Alpha is shooting daggers at her.

"What is your name?" Alpha Conri asked her.

"C-Cailean," her voice was softer and weaker than earlier, but Alpha Conri could hear it quite well and did not repeat his question any further.

"Cailean," he touched his chin and softly massaged it, "Cailean, what were you doing in the woods?"

"I…" she started her explanation softly and calmly, in contrast to her defying manner earlier, "I was just hunting for food in the forest. Please, I need to get home. My grandfather is waiting for me back there."

"Your grandfather?" He put his hand to his waist, "Do you even know that you are in my territory? And I will get to decide whether you will go home or not!"

"No, I didn't know that," Cailean shook her head and then explained herself again, "Please, just let me go. I promise that I won't get inside your territory again. I just need to get back to my home."

Cailean felt another wave of hostility coming from the Alpha in front of her. She is nervous and has anxiety about what will happen next. She might get detained for crossing territory that she does not even know. She started gritting her teeth and clenching her fists. If the worst comes, she might need to fight her way out of the place.

But little Cailean didn't know that Alpha Conri is feeling pity towards her the whole time, and while studying her face, he also feels another kind of sadness on it.

He felt frustrated with himself. "Why do I even feel this kind of feeling towards this woman?" He grunted and put his palm to his face. When he opened his left eye, he noticed that the blood from her foot had already touched the rug. That's where he knew that she needed to get healed first.

Alpha Conri heaved a sigh and then walked over to his first aid kit. When he got it, he go to Cailean once again, he kneeled and then grabbed her foot.

Cailean was shocked at the sudden gesture, but it was replaced by the return of the pain from the cold touch of the alcohol. She quickly retracted her foot, but the Alpha grabbed it once again and told her, "Don't move. I am trying to heal you."

"N-no, you don't have to do that," she said, trying to reach for him, "I can heal myself."

Alpha Conri just glared at her then clicked his tongue. He doesn't want to have anyone opposing what he is trying to do.

The Alpha did not listen to her complaints anymore and grabbed a cotton ball and then put it to clean the wound further. Then he put on a bandage. When Cailean felt that her wounds are less painful now, she had no other thing to do besides thanking the Alpha for healing her up.

"T-thank you, Alpha." she said while still using her hearing sense to feel the Alpha's breathing. It is quite faster than what he had earlier, "And thank you for saving me earlier."

Alpha Conri did not speak but looked at her eyes. He was astonished and thought that she could see. Her blindness is not that evident as opposed to what he saw in other blind people. The Alpha then felt a strange sensation in his body, and he couldn't control it. It was like a magnet from Cailean that pushes him to be closer to her.

His face slowly reached hers until his lips lightly touched Cailean's. Her lips might be dry, but the sensation and nervousness within the two of them shot upwards. Cailean did not expect that the Alpha had kissed her in such a way, and this is the first kiss that she felt in her whole life.

"Yes," the Alpha said, smirking, "I kissed you. And so?"

Cailean gulped before replying to him, "You are not supposed to do that, even though you are an Alpha. You have no right to kiss me."

Alpha Conri then looked at her chin and held it lightly with his two fingers. His eyes are still fixated on her lips which are now moist, thanks to his kiss, "Are you sure about that? That I have no right, hmm?"

She stopped speaking and thought first about what she was going to say. Does Alpha Conri really not have any right to kiss her? But the two of them already know that they are mates, and she paused for a while to think of a good answer.

"Even though you are an Alpha, you shouldn't do that."

His eyebrows furrowed and without any permission from her, Alpha Conri lifted her and went to the door that is connected to his bedroom. He was thinking that this woman was testing him all this time.

Cailean shrieked and was in shock when the strong arms that held her tossed her into the soft bed. She traveled her hands for a second on where she is at and noticed the softness of the cloth, as well as inhaling its scent coming from the rubbing. She instantly knew that the scent is of higher quality. She tried to stand up multiple times, but the Alpha kept on pushing her back to the bed.

"I thought you were going to free me already," she said to him, "Let me go, please… I need to go home."

Alpha Conri chose to ignore her pleading and the woman could hear his garments being unzipped and dropped to the floor.

He pushed her again and, in a flash, Cailean felt a heavy weight on top of her body pinning her down on the center of the bed.
