1 Chapter 1

The forest is a quiet place to be for generations, and it is a perfect time to be alone with nature; the thick fog that is covering the entire place adds to its peacefulness and eeriness to be felt by the travelers who are new to the place but is a home for the dwellers living in the thick number of tall trees and grasses all their lives.

"Help!!!"

Cailean's scream resounded throughout the forest, echoed through its space. The woman screamed through the thick fog, hoping someone would be nearby, and decided to help her out of her predicament, "Help!"

Alpha Conri heard the scream of the crying woman a few meters away from where he is inside his car that is passing through the woods. He tapped on his Beta who was driving and seemed to not hear anything.

"What's that?" Alpha Conri frowned.

"What is what?" Beta Farkas looked behind and raised an eyebrow at the superior, "Are you hearing something?"

"It's not something," the Alpha is still looking around, trying to tell where the scream is coming from, "Stop the car!"

Beta Farkas followed him and stopped the car and the two of them went outside to look around through the fog. Alpha Conri is looking in all sorts of directions until a shot of danger and fear is felt in his spine. He squinted to one of his west sides, thinking that that is the source of the danger that is coming to him.

"Help!!!" The woman screamed again, and it was nearer than before.

In an instant, Alpha Conri ran in her direction followed by Beta Farkas to save the woman in danger.

He is hoping that he is on time, that he could save her from the danger that these woods are being offered for them. He decided to transform into a werewolf to run as fast as he could.

Meanwhile, Cailean is still running blindly through the forest, not knowing which way is safe anymore. The adrenaline is running low on her body, and she winced once she felt the pain from the wound she got earlier. Her running turned into skipping slowly until her pace lowered until she was already biting her lip, incapable of asking for help.

She knows that she is still being chased by the wild animal that she tried to defend herself from. Her arrows have been already diminished to none, leaving her with no choice but to run and ask for help, hoping that someone will save her.

Cailean was deep in her thoughts when tripped on a twig in her way and stepped on it, causing her to fall face-first to the cold and misty grass.

"H-Help!!!" She screamed once again for help, but there was no one answering her anymore. She was about to ask one more time when she felt that the wild animal was already behind her, savoring the moment of her fear and she was about to get pounced and beaten to death.

"You… you're kidding me, right?" She whispered, laughing in desperation while still backing off from the wild animal. Cailean heard it growling and she tried to retreat faster until she already stopped trying.

There is no way that she could escape from the wild animal any further. She decided to lean on the big tree and saw the wild animal approaching in her direction. Its sharp fangs protrude as it gapes as it runs.

This is already the end of the line for her. She was thinking as she gasped.

Cailean raised her right arm to defend herself while screaming at the top of her lungs, with her eyes closed.

"Aaahhh!!!"

After finishing the shout that she made, she slowly opened her eyes, and she did not even feel the sharp teeth of the animal biting and digging deep into her skin.

She was touching the air thinking that someone was nearby. Her condition has not let her see anything since she was fifteen years old. She could not see anything, but Cailean could hear that the animals had been fighting amongst each other. She already felt that there was someone nearby using a huge amount of power and they came to save her.

A few moments later, the place returned to its tranquil and silent state. Cailean could not hear the growl and felt the bloodlust of the animal that had been hot in its wheels for her earlier.

She breathed deeply for a couple of moments, realizing that she is now safe. Her wound became numb as she felt relief from what just happened. Someone saved her from the animal, and she has been given another chance to live her life.

After wiping her tears with her arms, she was about to get up and move away from the place when Cailean felt a strong creature suddenly appear behind her and sniffed her hair. Chills were felt under her skin, causing Cailean to avoid the creature that was doing that, and it caused her wounded foot to step over the grass. She grunted in pain which caused her to sit on the ground while not giving up feeling the ground picking up a rock or anything that will serve as a weapon against it.

Cailean fears for her life once again, trying to survive and fight the fear of another potential danger that will spell her end truly this time.

She pointed the wood stick in every direction hoping to scare away who just sniffed her and trying to find it that just sniffed her. Cailean felt that the fog had been slowly clearing up.

When the visibility has risen, Alpha Conri transformed into human form again and his dark brown eyes are staring straight at her blue irises.

"Mate!" The man said while still staring at her with his dead eyes.

Cailean became more nervous and could not even lift a stone while listening to the man before her. She could not deny that the man in front of her is her so-called mate that the Moon Goddess has destined for her. She could not even explain his strong and strange scent along with his powers that seem to be overpowering the others she met so far.

Beta Farkas, on the other hand, was wondering how they got into that kind of situation. They were just wandering blindly in the forest and followed the mysterious woman's scent, eventually saving her from danger and eventual death.

He snapped into reality as a cold wind caught the three of them. Beta Farkas realized that he and the Alpha had removed their shirts before turning into werewolves to kill the wild animal earlier. He picked up the shirt that was dumped at the side and tossed the other one to the Alpha.

"Alpha!" he called and the two of them got dressed up.

The woman got cold feet when she heard the word. Alpha? She thought that her mate is an Alpha, for real.

Alpha Conri quickly dressed up and then kneeled once again, looking at Cailean. He scanned her from the head to toe, not leaving any detail. He stopped scanning her when he saw that her feet had been bleeding from the wounds that she had earlier.

At the same time, fear and anxiety have shot up towards Cailean's system while the Alpha has been looking at her as if he was judging her whole personality and life just from his piercing eyes.

Furthermore, she could also feel that the pair has an enormous power that is intimidating to her. She might have been stating the obvious for them being super strong and skilled, but the one thing in her mind right now is hostility towards them that they might hurt her when the time is given.

She dropped the rock that she was holding and felt a piece of twig then pointed in every direction. Alpha Conri laughed at the piece of the so-called weapon pointed at him.

"Don't get closer!" She raised her voice and forced herself to stand up, feeling the ground while holding the twig as her stick until she reached a tall tree and held herself towards it until she could stand upright.

The Alpha was shocked by Cailean's sudden behavior, and he pointed out, "Is that your way of saying thanks after we saved your life?"

The fog has thickened once again, and Cailean has felt the moisture of the fog through her skin once again. She could not even tell if the so-called Alpha is a good or bad person, to begin with.

Beta Farkas noticed that the woman in front of them could not see clearly. He shifted his eyes toward his Alpha, and he is glaring at the woman for her lack of gratitude.

He leaned towards him and whispered, "It seems like she could not see clearly."

"Huh?" Alpha Conri asked the Beta and approached the woman.

He approached Cailean slowly and quietly and held up his hand in front of her and waved. He then confirmed after that that the woman destined to be with him is blind and practically useless in his view of things.

The Alpha was disappointed by the discovery, and he shook his head. He could not believe that his mate was in this kind of situation. He was so excited all this time and prepared himself just to meet the one destined to be with him for a lifetime.

He was shocked knowing that his mate is a rogue in appearance and is also blind.

He sighed and then crossed his arms in disappointment.

Cailean heard his heave of a deep breath and looked to her left, thinking that the Alpha is in that direction while she is swinging her piece of twig at him.

"What are you sighing at, huh?"

"I am not even there," he whispered.

Beta Farkas then approached him and whispered in his ear.

"What are we going to do with her, Alpha?"

He looked at his Beta and shook his head then ordered, "Bring her!"

Alpha Conri then walked towards their car that was parked not too far away from where it was earlier.

Beta Farkas, on the other hand, grabbed a hold of Cailean's hand, then grabbed her twig and tossed it to a distance. Her mouth gaped in shock while looking the other way, and her hunch was true: they truly are the bad kinds of people she met.

"You have to come with us," the Beta ordered her coldly.

Cailean, on the other hand, twisted Beta's grip and tried to kick him in the head as her defense. Beta Farkas was surprised momentarily, but being quick to his feet, she dodged her attack and let her drop to the ground.

"Let me go! I need to… go home." she said while grunting through the pain.

"We are going to take you to the palace. Just be quiet and don't get on the Alpha's nerves, or you will truly be punished."

Cailean stopped resisting and spouting anything toward the Beta and let him be dragged her and enter the car. She is seated beside the Beta who is the driver, and the Alpha is seated at the back.

The three of them were quiet the whole ride, not attempting for a conversation or even coughing.

Meanwhile, Alpha Conri is stealing looks on Cailean even though she is seated in the front. The Alpha was thinking; how did she go to the forest all alone with the condition she has? The place is too far from the residential area.

He squinted his eyes while thinking of the reason why. The Alpha just scratched his head lightly and thought that he would just question her until he knew everything about her.
