Alpha aura

"Am I interrupting something?"

"No you're not. You're not doing well if you think you can escape." Brody said.

"Err~ I just wanted to confirm that I was not disturbing-"

"Just come in." He said and turned to Evie. "Adrian and I have got some things to take care of. You don't mind waiting a few more minutes, do you? Or you've got something you feel like doing outside this room." He didn't want to let her out of his sight so he hoped she picked the latter.

"No. I can wait." She said and he nodded his head. Deep down, he was glad she said so. It wasn't so surprising though, based on her personality.

He walked away from her and went to sit on his 'personal' seat which was behind his 'personal' table. Adrian pulled a seat and sat opposite him with sweat dripping down his face. Brody leaned back on his chair fixing a sharp deadly glare on Adrian who didn't dare look at his face.

'I'm sure you know your offense.' Brody said through the mind-link.

'Yes. I'll never do-'

'And what exactly is it?'

Adrian let out a sigh and answered; 'I had Evie with me and didn't tell you and I over appreciated her looks.' He said those words, knowing fully well how much more trouble he'll be if he left anything out.

'WRONG!' Brody yelled.

'Fuck! Alpha aura... it's hurts like crazy.' Adrian thought while keeping his head low. His shirt was already getting drenched from his sweat. 'I'm sure he can't show this side of himself to Evie that's why he's using the mind-link. Wait... Evie...' he looked over to her direction and saw that she was less bothered about what was going on between them. 'How come the aura doesn't work on her? Oh fuck! This hurts. He must be really mad at me for that little prank.'

'You're wrong, Adrian! You didn't just have Evie with you, you had my mate with you. What if something had actually happened to her in your presence. Do you think your head will still be intact?'

'I- I am s- sorry.' The Alpha aura was making it hard for him to think. He couldn't even fix his thoughts in a sentence.

'He's really punishing me. But then, he's not even going all out on me. This is even minimal. Is it because of her?'

'You prove really stubborn these days Adrian and I've had enough. Not when it comes to my mate.'

'I know and I'm sorry. My brain's a mess right now. I will reflect on my-' Adrian turned his head and saw his life saver. The only one person that could put an end to his suffering. 'KYLE!' He said in joy. 'Kyle please save me! Pleeeaase!' Adrian said looking as pitiful as ever.

Kyle walked in and quickly assessed the situation. 'What did you do this time?' Kyle walked over to them and pulled another seat and sat beside Adrian who looked like his soul was about to be ripped out of his body. 'Damn it. Tch!' Kyle was starting to feel the effect of the Alpha aura which felt like the cells in his body were being compressed. 'Are you seriously doing this with her here?'

Kyle's words earned a reaction from Brody which made him turn off his Alpha aura and he quickly snapped his head to the side to check on Evie. As if she had anticipated it, she too raised her head and both their eyes met.

'What's the matter? They have not said a word since and their expressions keep changing. Are they trying to prevent me from hearing them? And why did he suddenly look at me? Are they talking about me? Adrian and Kyle look so uncomfortable. And now they look surprised. I should probably look away.' With that, she immediately turned her head away.

'How the fuck is she not affected?' Kyle said with wide eyes
