3 Chapter 2 - Powers and tests

Once I had finally calmed down, I started looking around, front, back, left and right for any danger that might be lurking. Concluding that the coast was clear I raised my small feet and took my first step further into the Caribbean looking island.

But as soon as I took that single step,

*BONG*

*PING*

*BAAAM*

In quick succession, three foreign object landed on top of me. Each a little heavier than the first.

The last doing most of the damage, as I was left a little dazed.

On instinct I lifted my hand to my purple haired head and stared massaging the area to to relieve the pain, looking around for what these foreign objects were. I managed to identify the first, as a stormy gray pineapple with black swirls all over it. The pineapple looked grotesque as if originating from the devil himself. Which explained its given name, Devil fruit.

The second, was a white turban with a feather patterned jewel attached to it's front. A jewel I immediately recognized as Sinbad's crown as king of Sindria.

The last, was a sword a scimitar to be precise. The sword had a blue hilt with some gold intricate pattern on it. A sword I recognized as Sinbad's sword and first metal vessel. But unlike in the show, the sword didn't have the insignia of a Djinn carved on it.

Taking a closer look at the items, I first strapped the sword to my back. As I was still too small to carry it on my hips. Taking hold of the scarf/crown, I wrapped it around my head, as it is useful in protecting my head from the sun and is probably wroth a couple million if not hundreds of millions in jewels. And finally grabbing the last item of the lot, I took hold of the devil fruit that was as large as my head and swallowed it whole.

The taste matched the look as the Devil fruit tasted awful. Nothing could compare to its taste so I had nothing to describe it with, but it easily made the list of most disgusting thing I had ever eaten.

Once I had eaten the devil fruit nothing happened, there was no knowledge of its power that magically came to mind or its name.

(A/N I know some of you might refer to the CP9 information about automatically knowing what power it is and how to use it. But it is false information as it was confirmed by Oda. Or else Luffy would have known all along about his devil fruit.)

So I started trying out things, if by logic I had inherited Sinbad look, crown and sword. Than the devil fruit must be his powers.

I grabbed onto the sword lifted it in the air and tried transforming into Sinbad Djinn equip.

I tried imagining myself into his Baal form, dragon scales sprouting out of my arms and legs, the long serpentine tail weaving out of my back and the yellow horns coming out of my head.

After a couple of minutes, I still felt nothing not a spec of power or signs of it.

Sighing in disappointment, I dropped my arm in defeat. My small child arms already a little sore from lifting the sword.

"What now?" I murmured.

'Maybe there is some type of incantation?' I wondered. Trying to remember the anime and manga as much as possible. I managed to remember that at first Sinbad had to call for his Djinn powers out loud.

Looking to my left and right, for any onlookers as I prepared myself to commit the most embarrassing thing I have ever done.

"My servant of Rage and Greatness, Take shelter within me, Transform my whole body into that of a great Sorcerer. Djinn equip Baal" I shouted while raising my sword in front of me.

…

.

But still nothing happened, and I was a thousand time more embarrassed of my action. I wanted to bury myself into a hole and never come out.

Seeing as the sun started setting, I realized that I needed to find food and shelter. As I was on a foreign island, figuring out my devil fruit ability could wait.

I walked near the edge of the forest inside further into the island, and started examining the trees seeing if I could find any fruit to eat before nightfall.

It didn't take long to spot a palm tree with a couple of coconuts on top. Looking at the tall tree, I realized I had no way to climb it, so I settled for looking for any fallen coconuts.

After a couple of minutes of aimless walking around I finally managed to find 2 coconuts that had naturally fallen out of their respective tree.

I grabbed onto the fruits and brought them with me to the shores. I was going to spend the night in the open, as I didn't know what kind of beast lurked in that jungle.

Taking the sword on my back I slammed it on the coconuts trying my best to crack them open.

*BAM*BAM*BAM*

After the third strike only a small portion of the coconuts shell fell off. But the cut was not deep enough to access its juicy content.

Seeing as there was little to no progress, I tightly gripped my sword with both hands and with all the strength, anger and frustration I could muster slammed it on the coconuts.

*BAAAM*

A large gust of wind was generated by the sword as both coconuts were cut in clean halves.

The wind not only split the coconuts, but extended to the sandy ground as well as a couple of inches long indentations was formed on the sandy shores.

"Huh?"

'What just happened'. I thought, 'I'm definitely not strong enough to accomplish something like that.'

Taking a closer look at the separated fruit I was mesmerized at how clean the cut was, it looked as if it was cut by some expert swordsman in the many animes I used to watch.

Looking in marvel at my small chubby hands, I decided to try again, I took the same stance with my sword. And channeled as much anger and force into my swing.

*KRAK-BOOM*

A large blue bolt of lightning left my swinging arms and shot out in front of me. Leaving small burn marks as it slammed into the sandy beach.

I was shook at what had just happened, first wind and now lightning. 'Is this my devil fruit ability?' I thought.

'Did I have the ability to control all the elements?' I wondered. Taking the same stance, I tried imagining fire. Swinging my sword with full force again but this time nothing happened.

'Strange, did I understand wrong?' I thought.

I took another swing while trying to generate fire, but nothing happened. Sighing in frustration I decided to try the two previous elements instead.

Both tries ended up being successful, as a gust of compressed wind and a lightning bolt left my swings.

'Mhm, do I need to swing my arms every time?' I thought. So to test the theory, I simply extended my arms in front of me and willed for lightning on my right palm and wind on my left. And to my surprise I easily managed to accomplish what I sought out for.

I had a small ball shaped gust of spinning wind in my left hand and a crackling lightning bolts in my right.

'An idea suddenly popped into my head, maybe I wasn't controlling the elements but the weather?'

Taking a couple steps toward the water, I decided to test my new theory. I pointed my palm at the water in front of me and touched its surface while willing cold weather.

In an instant an area of around 10 meters instantly froze around me. Leaving me in front of an ice plateforme that was constantly being hammered by the ocean waves.

A bright smile claimed my face, as I rejoiced at my new found power. I had become a weather human after consuming what I concluded to be the weather weather fruit.

So it was with a pep to my step and a goofy smile that I return to the beach where my split coconuts awaited me.

A/N I kept thinking on how to make Sinbad powers logical in the One piece world. And I concluded the weather fruit would be the best to describe him. He will lack the abilities of a couple of his Djinns but it at least include Baal, Valefor and Focalor.
