Terror Infinity: Monster

"Want to know the meaning of life? Want to live… a real life?" It all started with this unassuming message. Most people would ignore it, clicking ‘No’ by instinct more than careful consideration. But for those unfortunate enough to click on ‘Yes’, a whole new world unfolds before them. Several, if they are talented. All so they may experience… Terror Infinity.

Raising an eyebrow in intrigue, I asked, "Which side quest did you finish to get 2000 Points and a Rank D Reward?"

Sarah replied, "We got it for leaving Helgen without killing anyone…"

I paused, before snorting, amused.

"Good, I helped you earn quite the rewards by killing the soldiers and the bear. The spiders were only 50 Points each, and the bear 200 Points, so you would have ended up losing Points. Good, with 2000 Points and a Rank D Reward, you will be able to buy something to actually become useful."

Erik frowned, and asked, "If I may, how many Points do you have?"

I smiled, as I had already decided not to hide it from them.

Connecting with God, I sent a look at my Status.

Intelligence: 403

Mental Capacity: 501

Cell Vitality: 406

Reaction speed: 402

Muscle density: 407

Immunization: 400

Combat really was the best to improve. Of course, it had only been minor increases, but my Stats had still gotten better.

As for my Points…

"I currently have 9110 Points, a Rank B and two Rank C Rewards."

All four of them froze, looking at me with wide eyes.

Grinning, I added, "I started the mission with 20 Points, a Rank C and a Rank D Reward, for your information."

The reason I said this, was to make them realize how many Points one could gain even in a 7-Players mission.

However, seeing the disappointed looks on their faces, I decided to add as I connected to God, "Don't feel down, you can do a lot with 2000 Points and a Rank D Reward. Even if you don't use them to improve yourselves, you can buy weapons that would have allowed you to go through this past mission with ease."

This, however, did raise a question for me. I had seen some guns with infinite ammo for as low as several hundred Points.

This made me wonder whether God really would have allowed this kind of weapon within a world like Skyrim. After all, even if I still had the same body I entered this game with, give me a handgun with infinite ammo and Helgen wouldn't even be a challenge.

I doubted God would let us finish missions this easily.

Well, in any case, I had more interesting things to buy.

More than nine thousand Points and a Rank B Reward could buy me a lot of things, like the Spider-Man Mutation, for example.

However, I had other plans for my enhancements.

Medium Force Sensitivity: Gain 15000 Midi-chlorians per cell. Costs Rank C Reward and 1300 Points. Requires Low Force Sensitivity.

High Force Sensitivity: Gain 20000 Midi-chlorians per cell. Costs Rank B Reward and 2500 Points. Requires Medium Force Sensitivity

Some might doubt my choice as this wouldn't bring me much strength in the short term. However, I wasn't aiming for the short term to begin with.

While only costing a Rank B and C Reward, and 3800 Points, if I trained for long enough with these enhancements, I would far surpass the strength the Spider-Man Mutation would give me.

And so, I did not hesitate to buy them both.

[-3800 Points, 1 Rank B Reward and 1 Rank C Reward.]

Particles of light once again flew down from God and surrounded me, flowing into me as they changed me on a cellular level.

Maybe because I already had Midi-chlorians in my cells, the transformation only took half a minute.

This time, though, I immediately felt the difference.

Already having a connection to the Force, I felt it be strengthened. I could feel that my Force abilities had been strengthened, and learning new ones would go even faster.

I was only two missions in, and my potential in the force had already exceeded Yoda's and Darth Sidious, some of the best force wielders to have ever existed in the Star Wars Universe.

Well, only a few hundred years of training separated us now.

Despite having bought these two enhancements, I returned to God's Exchange System, as I still had a lot of Points.

Glancing over the option to return to worlds we had visited, I paused when I saw the prices.

Skyrim would cost 10 Points per day, as it should.

In the Tall Grass, however, was not only locked behind a Rank D Reward, but also cost 50 Points a day, multiplying the cost by 5.

Part of the appeal for Skyrim was that it would be a great world to explore between missions, as there were lots of artifacts within that we could bring out.

But if the cost for going back to the mission world increased by 5 times when it wasn't the last mission we went through, then 1000 Points would only exchange for 20 days, instead of a hundred.

This also went for training, as I would get less time, and not every world may be suitable to train. Like, if I get into the world of the Walking Dead, where am I supposed to get my peace of mind to train in the force?

Now filled with doubts, I addressed God, "How do the worlds in which we took missions behave once we are gone?"

[Please elaborate.]

Taking a moment to aptly put it, I rephrased, "How does time flow when we are not in these worlds?"

[Time only passes when players are within the world, during missions, or if you are sent to that world on a second installment.]

"You mean we can get several missions in the same world?"

[Yes, but it mostly happens for franchises.]

Well, that was good to know.

However, I was still troubled about Skyrim.

"How much time will pass within old worlds during our new missions?"

[It varies.]

Well, that wasn't very helpful.

The thing about Skyrim is that while I'm pretty strong as I am for that world, I'm not at the peak either. But more importantly, the good items were in locations I knew thanks to the game.

However, if too much time passed, then who knows what will happen to the equipment I was eyeing.

So I was left with quite the conundrum. Use the majority of my Points now to become strong enough to get the strongest items, but only have little time to fetch them, or place the majority of my Points into the trip. That would bare me from some of the better items, but I would also be able to get a larger number of them, while being able to train and gradually become stronger.

Logically, the second option made the most sense in the long term, but if I made all the decisions for the long term, at some point I'll die because of weakness in the short term.

It's not like I had a stronger teammate to protect me as I grew.

Also, I currently had 531 days, which was about a year and a half worth of time, and while I knew I would need to train for long periods time with the enhancements I picked, it was still quite the decision to make.

However, since time was stopped while I wasn't in the world, I decided against immediately returning to Skyrim, and instead rested a bit.

My Super Soldier Physique gave me a lot of stamina, and if I really had to, I would be able to return right now, but since I had the choice, I decided to take a breather, and go sleep a bit.

And sleeping usually helps me with thinking.

Before leaving however, I looked at my teammates, who were now surrounding me as they talked to God, and said, "My advice to you would be to play on your strengths. However, do understand that while physical strength and fighting skills are important, to me, the spirit is the most important. I might have been weaker than any of you when I first arrived, but it was through guts and wits that I rose above."

I did not wait for any of them to reply as I left with those words, returning to my house.
