When the Host opened his eyes, he found himself in a dark room. The only light he had came from a tiny window with bars. He tried to lift his body, but he immediately felt something was wrong.
His fluffy ears were twitching. Wait… fluffy ears? Why did he have a tail???
With so many questions, he decided not to move around and laid back down on the ground. Sensing he was not in danger, for the time being, he closed his eyes.
'System, please send me the data for this world.'
[Understood.]
A flood of information filed into the Host's mind. He quickly read over the data, though there was a lot of information.
In the world of Elersa, there were five kingdoms that ruled the main continent. The top 5 countries were powerhouses with resources and power on par with one another. Collectively, they decided to settle for a peace treaty. Each country would trade with one another and help each other in times of need. This peace agreement brought the continent together, boosting the economy of each country and increasing the standards of living for the common people.
This world also had portals that opened up to the Spirit Realm and the Demon Realm. These portals allowed spirits and demons to freely go through the mortal realm. There were also monsters that plagued the mortal realm. Though monsters filled the lands, spirits helped the people of Elersa. Spirits were capable of enhancing strength and magic powers. They could also grant riches, fame, and good harvests. They were powerful beings capable of miracles. Spirits also acted as messengers of the Gods and Goddesses.
Demons could also enhance abilities but only to individuals corrupted by evil. They were also known as evil spirits that were banned from the Spirit Realm. They kept the balance between good and evil.
The male protagonist of the world, Liam Floecia, was the Crown Prince of the Floecia Kingdom.
Floecia was a neutral kingdom where all the races of the world could come together to live in peace. Even though there was a Human King and Prime Minister, the king had representatives from the other races at his side. They acted as his Parliament members. The representatives were made up of one beastkin, dragonkin, elf, and dwarf. They were elected with the new king to help govern and regulate the matters of the kingdom. This was to ensure that there was equity for all races, not just rights for one of the races.
The Floecia Kingdom was at the center of the continent with a giant lake in the center of the kingdom. Fishing villages were situated by the rivers that flowed into the lake. This gave a source of jobs and food to the people of Floecia. The capital was on the right side of the giant lake and there was a bridge from the capital to the main temple that sat in the center of the lake. The temple was a holy place that was guarded by Floecia.
The main temple was known to house the Gods and Goddesses of Elersa. Only priests and priestesses lived in the temple. There were also other temples that were scattered across the continent. Priests and Priestesses also traveled the continent to help the people in times of disease, famine, poverty, and war. They weren't able to heal with light magic, but they could dispel the curses from evil spirits that liked to plague the people. They also took care of the temples and were able to contact the spirits to give oracles to the common people. There was a Pope who lived in the main temple and regulated the priests and priestesses. The Popes were elected every 20 years to ensure there was no corruption within the temple.
The female protagonist, Adelia, was a human commoner who was kidnapped by a noble. With her powerful light magic, she should've entered the temple, but a nobleman was captivated by her beauty. She was saved by both the male protagonist and the second male lead. In the end, she fell in love with the male protagonist, Liam, for his strength and kindness, as he fell for her courageousness and her resilience.
The second male lead, Jasper Efros, was the Crown Prince of the beastkin kingdom called Efros Kingdom. All members of royalty took the name of the Kingdom as their last name. He was a silver wolfkin with purple eyes. He was good friends with Crown Prince Liam as they went to school together. He fell in love with Adelia for the same reason as his good friend.
One day, Jasper and Liam teamed up to try to solve the disappearance of women and children around the continent. They singled it out to one place, which was where Adelia was held captive.
The original body that the Host was occupying, Fel, was kidnapped by the same nobleman who enslaved the female protagonist. The nasty nobleman was named Kurtis Rottrett. The Rottrett family were Earls in the human supremacy kingdom, Frayx.
Fel was a rare Elemental Spirit Fox with nine tails, who had been traveling the mortal realm with his parents. His older brother was in the Spirit Realm and took over their parents' job, so he couldn't come with them. Passing through Efros, Earl Rottrett's men kidnapped Fel, bounding him with a slave collar. They thought Fel was a golden-eyed snow fox beastkin and didn't know he was a Spirit. The Earl didn't find out about Fel's origins until Fel's parents finally found him. But Fel was long dead by the time they came. His parents slaughtered Earl Rottrett and his family before finally rampaging through Frayx, almost destroying the entire kingdom. Their grief and sorrow turned the powerful Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit father and Fairy Dragon Spirit mother, who ruled over nature, into evil ones. Later they were captured by the combined efforts of Adelia, Liam, and Jasper, and brought to the temple where their spirit cores were burned by the gods of the world.
No one realized that they were grieving for their child who was cruelly tortured and killed.
Fel, the Host, couldn't help but grieve for Fel's parents. But he also felt remorse for Fel who was too young to even understand what was going on. When he was kidnapped, he was 18, but this was just a child in terms of spirits who had long lives. He didn't understand why he was brought to this basement or why his parents weren't there.
With the slave collar on his neck, he couldn't turn back into his spirit form. He was stuck in the normal snow fox beastkin form that his parents told him to stay in. If he could turn back into his spirit form he would be able to use all nine elements that were indicated on his tails. He would easily be able to escape and find his parents. It was just a pipe dream for the original Fel though.
Fel and Adelia never met because Fel died a day before Adelia came to the Rottrett estate.
[*Chirp chirp* Host, here are your missions:
[Main Mission: Find your parents to prevent their spirit cores from being destroyed.
Side Mission: Kill Earl Rottrett.
Side Mission: Help save Adelia and the victims of Earl Rottrett's crimes.]
[Good luck with your endeavors, Host.]
His thoughts of wanting to leave were immediately extinguished, but seeing that Earl Rottrett had to die, Fel grinned. All he had to do was wait for Liam and Jasper to come. His hands didn't have to get dirty. He could focus on rescuing the victims.
Fel wasn't going to be as kind or passive as he was in the previous world. This man was nasty through and through. Earl Rottrett deserved to die. If Liam and Jasper couldn't kill him, he would do it himself.
'System, what do you mean by saving the victims? Are there others besides Adelia and the ones she came with?'
[That's right, Host. Every month, he kidnaps 1 or 2 people from different countries. He has a horrible fixation on raping women and children he grabs, and kills them afterward.]
'What's so different about Fel that he keeps him in this part of the basement instead?'
[Snowfoxes, especially ones with gold eyes, were rare beastkin capable of radiating energy that promoted riches and fame. They were distant descendants of spirits, which was why they were only able to radiate their blessings instead of giving them. Earl Rottrett kept Fel in the basement hoping that the blessings would give him more riches. But when his territory was failing, he took it out on Fel, thinking Fel was withholding his blessings. Fel ended up dying under the repeated tortures that lasted a month.]
The original Fel had just arrived a week ago. He knew that he had a couple of months before Earl Rottrett's territory would decline. Earl Rottrett and his family liked to splurge the money taken from the taxes. This also funded his nauseating hobbies.
He sighed. There were still three months before Adelia would be kidnapped. She would be saved during Earl Rottrett's slave auction which was his last attempt in getting money.
He wanted to just outright kill the Earl and move along on his day, but he wouldn't be able to complete the other side missions if he did. How annoying.
[Even though there seem to be logical ways of completing Main Missions quickly, the side missions usually prevent that from happening. You could ignore the Side Missions, but you won't get the maximum amount of energy from this world. This world is an E-ranked world so the missions will get harder and be a bigger inconvenience from time to time. You must get used to it!]
He already knew that but he just felt it was a pain in the butt.
Fel opened his eyes after going through all the information on the world plot.
This world was like a waiting game with a time limit. He knew he couldn't be too impatient.
Though he wanted to look for God System, he didn't know where that man was, so he decided to focus on his missions and look for the man later.
He hoped that he could at least be with God System in this world.
