Starred Up

Deen, a seven year old boy, arrives in Korea with his mother Mia. With a strong determination to raise her son properly, Mia ensures Deen lacks no love in his life. In her spare time, Mia is a huge fangirl of the Korean boy group, TNT. But in an unexpected twist of fate, the mother-son duo end up being the neighbors of D3, another legendary boy group, which happens to be TNT's biggest rival. D3 consists of the short tempered Taewon, gentle Joon Jae and the goofy Jan. On top of that, Mia is hired as the personal designer for TNT, which consists of the charismatic leader Soo-Yon and the playboy maknae Cheng. Despite the rocky start, Mia and her son grow closer to all the members of both the groups. With time, the members realize they have fallen in love with the same woman, disrupting each group's dynamics. Furthermore, the origins of the hostility between the two groups resurface, making everyone involved question the decision they made a decade ago. As secrets unfold, the members vie for Mia's affections, Deen observes that she has eyes only for one of them. But which one of them will she choose? Deen-Not Gonna Let This Get Me Down

We ran towards the hallway. The piggies were still chasing us. It was hard to tell how long we were running around. My legs were becoming numb and our movements were slowing down. The piggies would catch up to us any minute. Suddenly I had an idea. We ran across the hall, towards the teachers' room.

We darted through the door. Hae-ra and I stopped to catch our breath. Jungmo and piggies followed us in and were about to corner us before realizing that they were at the teachers' room. The teachers were very surprised to see us. Teacher Jang walked up to us.

'What are you guys doing here?' she asked suspiciously peering at me. She would ignore me if I complained against Jungmo. She hated me anyway.

'Well?' she demanded.

'Hae-ra needed help in English,' I lied. 'We came to see Mr. Song.'

Beside us, Jungmo and the piggies were fidgeting nervously. They wouldn't dare to hit us in front of the teachers.

'And you three?' Miss Jang turned to them.

'We-we,' Jungmo stuttered.

'Returning Deen's English book to him,' Hae-ra said, snatching the book from his hand. I was surprised that he still held on to it throughout the chase.

'Yes,' Jungmo said stiffly. 'Returning Deen's book. Let's go guys.'

He shot us a dirty look before shuffling out with the piggies.

'Mr. Song is sitting at the corner,' Miss Jang said. She was still looking at me suspiciously. I smiled at her

'Thank you teacher Jang,' I said. I motioned Hae-ra to follow me. It wasn't safe to go out. So I decided to pretend having problems in English until the bell rang for next class.

Mr. Song was our English teacher. He was probably ancient; his hair was completely white and his hands shook violently while writing. He also had a habit of dozing off while teaching. Often he would go on useless rambles during lectures. We sat there, listening to Mr. Song's sermons which went from the origin of apples to the Korean War. I don't know how. But it was better than going back to the classroom and get beaten up by Jungmo and piggies.

The rest of the day was uneventful. Miss Jang kept on shooting me with suspicious gazes, but she didn't have anything to charge against me. She still called me illegitimate at times to provoke me. But I ignored her. Joonjae ahjusshi was right. Not gonna let this get me down.
