Starred Up

Deen, a seven year old boy, arrives in Korea with his mother Mia. With a strong determination to raise her son properly, Mia ensures Deen lacks no love in his life. In her spare time, Mia is a huge fangirl of the Korean boy group, TNT. But in an unexpected twist of fate, the mother-son duo end up being the neighbors of D3, another legendary boy group, which happens to be TNT's biggest rival. D3 consists of the short tempered Taewon, gentle Joon Jae and the goofy Jan. On top of that, Mia is hired as the personal designer for TNT, which consists of the charismatic leader Soo-Yon and the playboy maknae Cheng. Despite the rocky start, Mia and her son grow closer to all the members of both the groups. With time, the members realize they have fallen in love with the same woman, disrupting each group's dynamics. Furthermore, the origins of the hostility between the two groups resurface, making everyone involved question the decision they made a decade ago. As secrets unfold, the members vie for Mia's affections, Deen observes that she has eyes only for one of them. But which one of them will she choose? Deen-Just Run

'It's "Ap-ple",' I said. 'Repeat after me. "Ap-ple".'

'Ap-per,' Hae-ra said.

'Ugh, no. Ap-ple,' I corrected her. 'Ap-ple. Pronounce the "L" properly. Not like R!'

'It's too hard!' Hae-ra complained.

We were in the classroom. It was lunchtime and I was teaching English to Hae-ra. Poor girl was horrible in it. She didn't even know the alphabets properly.

I hit her on the head with a pencil.

'It's not hard if you work hard!' I scolded her. 'Now repeat after me. Ap-ple.'

'Ap-per.'

I sighed. It would take years to teach her how to pronounce Apple properly.

'Con-cen-trate,' I gritted through my teeth.

'Look what we have here. The two bastards.'

We looked up to see Jungmo and his two cronies, sneering at us. Tormenting us was his favorite past time. Inwardly, I called them Piggies because they looked like the three pigs from a story Mee once read to me. Only these three were dumber and more stupid looking.

'What do you want?' I asked drily.

Jungmo ignored me and snatched my English book from the table.

'Hey give it back!' I demanded, getting on my feet.

Jungmo pushed me backwards. I would have crashed on the floor if I hadn't reflexively held on to the table. The other two piggies were foolishly smirking at us.

'GIVE BACK MY BOOK!' I shouted at him. Jungmo kept on sneering and held the book higher, away from my reach.

'Give me my book,' Jungmo mimicked. 'Try getting it, bastard.'

He held it higher. I tried to reach for it but he pushed me again.

'GIVE IT BACK YOU PIGGY!' I cursed, lunging for the book again.

'PIGGY?' he bellowed. He grabbed my collar with one hand, almost choking me.

'Leave him alone!' Hae-ra exclaimed. She kicked him hard in the shin. Jungmo coiled in pain, freeing me. I grabbed Hae-ra's hand and we sprinted off.

'COME BACK HERE BASTARDS!' Jungmo roared. The three of them chased after us.

We ran through the halls with the piggies on tail.

'MOVE!' I yelled at the students blocking our way. They hurriedly scurried, clearing the path.

'How do we get rid of them?' Hae-ra yelled. It was hard to shake them off. They wouldn't stop until they beat us up.

'I don't know,' I yelled back. 'Just run!'
